  1. So... there was supposed to be an announcement yesterday? I guess it wasn't that much, since I ain't seeing anything anywhere...
  2. I don't think there were any alternatives, considering that this was a prequel and DX set up a lot of things that would've needed a massive retcon otherwise. Now it's just right . And I just realised that the PC version supports gamepad as well. This is the kind of stuff I like, giving people options, and it's the one thing even I don't like about Bioware; They're so high on their success they rip out stuff that's already in the game because they are convinced only they know the Way It's Meant to Be Played (Though, I hear the x360 controller support calls for a license fee and the beancounters objected). Still not cool. In fact, I understand that MS has been pushing for x360 controller support in general, and as I like to do as much of my gaming on the couch as possible, this might tempt me back into the PC realm - having both the alternatives. That, and the inadequacy of current gen console hardware is becoming more and more apparent with games like DXHR. (And that includes the pre-rendered cutscenes rammed into the 6,8gb x360 limit, groan.)
  3. I don't really think that's the case, to be honest. True, true.
  4. If that version of Shepard is on the box, I will join all you whiners, but for the moment, I'm under the impression that it was a one-off for PAX/the announcement. The box art/in-game will feature the one voted for, just like Shepardloo isn't in some caricature format.
  5. Totally read that "testicle" at first.
  6. A funny thing, I apparently totally pwned a former classmate who was asking me for a cable to load his iphone by flat-out saying I didn't have one. Guy totally ran off with his tail between his legs, tennis superstar and all. Though I did have a 6' nurse/lingerie model sitting on my lap at the time.
  7. I accidentally Fedorova with the electricity traps in the room before the fight even started properly. :/ Hrm, I turned the turret on. Does that count as non-pacifist? I mean, they chose to run into the turret's line of sight. Considering that even the prologue apparently counts for pacifist, I think most people blew that 'chievo without realising it very early on.
  8. Is that the fan artist turned pro? Anyway, I'm with Lexx: Yes x2. You've lost me. What does a ME2 save have to do with this?
  9. Most of the complainers are either trolls, or people who have never played the game (ok, they are trolls, too) or people who haven't played the game in 10 years and have started believing all of the hype about the game. Let's face it, things like reactivity to killing only exists in 1-2 early missions etc., yet people start complaining when DXHR doesn't have it in every mission. , but there's more of them... S'yeah, I'd say that people like you (and me), who play the original regularly are probably the ones who are really going to like this and appreciate all the neat little things they've done. The game hasn't been out for a week, yet such things have been already decided?! The Illuminati IS at work here.
  10. That's not the in-game one, it's an impression done by a new concept artist. Which, I'm sure, MechanicalLemon new.
  11. REally? I just walked in between the intervals when the light was off. Yeah, it's funny how the tutorials completely failed to cover the one thing that isn't obvious :D
  12. That guy came across as stoopid, not a troll, but maybe my detector was off.
  13. Shouldn't have gone to the eidos montreal forums. Full of people saying how they played "Deus Ex and the expansion" and DXHR sucks...
  14. Found the launcher quite useful in the final level.
  15. Well, about a year ago, they were talking about the PRC plans, in the form of an "extension". So... expansion?
  16. Completed my first run (stealth/hacker/pacifist, though missed out on the achievement)... and my earlier assessment stands. Two full days (and I mean full, it's 5am and I just finished, slept 5 hours in between). :D I'm always a packrat, but I was really hurting for space this time around even with full inventory upgrades. I think it's related to the pacifist approach, you need to carry 3 relatively large weapons (buzzkill, dart rifle and PEPS) and gas grenades (grenades don't stack!) Also the trick to fun hacking is to max the stealth series as fast as possible. Also, holding on to praxis points until you need them is IMO the only sound strategy after the beginning of the game. I had 8 at the beginning of the final encounter and wound up using all of them.
  17. The hacking is actually pretty challenging, I'm about 12 hours in, and only starting to grasp it's intricacies. Apart from that, GOTY. Amazing to see a novice studio make a game this... perfect, when seasoned veterans can't quite get it right. May Eidos Montreal enjoy a prosperous future, and keep making games that sure as hell aren't Pg13'd for maximum appeal.
  18. Did it? yup.. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/05/us/polit...5poll.html?_r=1 Pretty short-lived though. He's down again now.. J. I am aware of that part. I am unaware of why he needed a short-term boost at the time, which is an essential part of your theory.
  19. I can't wait to see what happens when Jobs dies. The poor Apple faithful will be devastated, there'll be black turtlenecks of mourning everywhere. Dude. Seek help.
  20. Care to share? Might lessen my annoyedness at having lost out on the Aug Ed from them...
