IIRC, Kelly at least is supposed to be in the game. For all we know she could take the yeoman's place if she survived ME2.

Hurlie's post above reminds me of how vast the general price differences can be with games still costing roughly the same. I think it goes a long way of explaining my attitude towards dlc etc., living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Well, even I've been aware of the problems Game's been having, so it doesn't really come as a surprise. You're aware of the other dealers they're offloading the stock to? (Edit: mental note, read the link before posting)

That would be glorious. First massively successful ios remake, then green-lit multiplayer sequel. Profit.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced
Nepenthe replied to Lorfean's topic in Computer and Console
Considering that an ios remake represents probably the only possible way for the genre to make a return, it would be wonderful news. -
Yep, probably counts as Acts of God.

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)

I'm starting to feel the whole thread is an excuse for libel, so I'm kind of looking forward to dying by now. -
Either that trailer caused me physical pain or I've got kidney stones. Thats a bit like biting into a cake that might be poisoned. It might not be , but by the time you find out it's too late. Yeah, it's a lot better to ask if it's poisoned from a bunch of people who are probably trying to poison you. So basically you're here because you have low blood pressure and need to raise it, I take it? Well, I originally came here because of Alpha Protocol, stayed because this was a good source of info (and still often is) and lacked people making effigies (though with Prosper, I'm no longer so sure about that). Now, I guess it's mostly a habit. It does make a good break from dissertation writing, even if a major chunk of posts these days seem to come from the tvtropes hatedumb and fandumb pages.

If I'd known what I know now, I would have put a fork in a wall socket three years ago instead of starting a doctoral dissertation. OTOH, I have probably built up a considerable resistance to torture from the time spent on this.
-
Or you could do what I do, form your own opinion and not care what magazines, websites, forum trolls or creepy people who make effigies of video game characters care.

Isn't DA2 proof that they, in fact, cannot? My personal pet peeve: I was hoping they would go back to full helmets/hardsuits for vacuum situations. No such luck apparently. Seemingly, explosive decompression is nothing compared to the threat of not looking gorgeous, always. The only part of the game I've seen in vacuum (on Mars) had everybody in hardsuits. Let's not keep mixing non-breathable atmosphere with vacuum, shall we?

See, that's the problem when everybody feels they have to think up a new aspect of every Bioware game to whine about. They drown out any real, fixable problems in the game, thus resulting in the over-exposure the creepy digital romance nuts get on the "positive feedback" side. Or give us super hammerhead brothers missions, ffs.

Ok, now you're just doing it on purpose.

Mini games were avoidable in Kotor?! Since when?! What does that have to do with anything? It's not like it was a problem for the Collectors in the ME2 intro. If you sit back and think about scaling on the galaxy map, you will hopefully realise how, ahem, ill-thought-of your complaint was. Just in case you don't, I'll save myself the trouble of coming back later and saying: WELL UNLESS THEY CAN ****ING SHOOT AT YOU FROM HALF A SOLAR SYSTEM AWAY, THEY HAVE TO "AQUIRE" YOU FIRST, AND THE ****ING ICON ON THE GALAXY MAP IS THE SIZE OF THE ****ING SUN. CAN YOU DO THE ****ING MATH?! Jesus. I mean, really, aren't there enough actual problems with the game without having to pull idiotic crap like that out of your ass and pretend like it's some design error?! ASKDJALSDJ

Maybe Normandy actually isn't the size of several earth-sized planets?

The "Vangelis vibe" was indeed what was most missing from ME2, and what I was referring to earlier. It was what separated "normal good" from the "special" in ME1. Apart from Clint Mansell, they have a team of composers who've already worked on the franchise. Sam Hulick had co-credit for ME1 with Jack Wall and was on the composing team for ME2 (which was credited entirely to Jack Wall, who's now gone). Also coming back are the people who worked on the ME2 DLCs. I read a bunch of interviews from these guys earlier today, and they specifically mentioned that their mandate was going back to a more ME1 type of sound, as it was one of the more criticised aspects of ME2. The above-linked example sure is up to the standard of the best ME1 action tunes like Feros Battle and Eden Prime Battle. You know guys, what most cracks me up here is that when I actually criticise an aspect of Bioware games, multiple people leap up in its defense. Edit, since I see this come up every now and then, I'll copy the official composer list from Bio social:

I actually liked the soundtrack in ME2. Better than 1's, too. Is that bad? No, it just means that you like generic Movie Soundtrack scores over unique and brilliant 80s synth/orchestral fusion ones.
-
... I think they explain that in the video, important hidden military assets? You're gonna see a recurring theme from ME2 (hopefully done a bit better), where you have to strike a balance between the need to hurry up and save earth and taking your time and preparing for being actually able to do it.
-
I dunno, I don't think it looks as bad as the ME2 version. Anyway, at least the score is going to be better than ME2: http://soundcloud.com/mr-toffee/mass-effect-3-mars-combat

I agree with this statement, but probably not with the intent. Re: DA2/DAO numbers, guess my "iirc" was off, then. Certainly the way the DLC tapered off and disappeared would suggest that you are right. Personally consider the "badness" of DA2 to be something we'll see in group psychology textbooks down the road.
-
Well, it's gonna be a lot harder buying them down the road.

I can't spend all the money I make lobbying on hookers and blow, now can I? The xbox CE to play with, the origin DD for the PC version and the bonus lewt, the PC CE because it costs little and looks nice on a shelf. (misquoted, fixed)
-
No. You unlock something for ME3 by playing the Kingdoms of Alamur demo, and something for Kingdoms of Amalur by playing the ME3 demo. So far, the day one DLC has included a romantic interest (Prince Scottish) and a living golem (Shale), neither of which came back to bite them. Unless by 'bite them' you mean made them lots of money. Day 1 DLC is profitable. It's not going away because people like to buy it. Does the CE count as that? If so, I'm immoral. We are profligates. I have a digital deluxe edition and 2 CEs ordered. I'm expecting to turn into a pillar of salt.

Hey, no names were mentioned!
