blizzard had FIVE masterpieces before going semi-dormant on the quality front
warcraft
warcraft 2 (plus expansion)
diablo
diablo 2 (plus expansion)
starcraft (plus expansion)
the stuff they made later wasn't bad or anything, just not as good as what they had already done. fingers crossed for diablo 3 though!
3e ended up being my favorite, but even then my group uses a lot of houserules.
i have high, but cautious hopes for 5e, i think they realized what a misstep 4e was. im glad there were no games based on 4e, they would have been terrible
im excited for this, my biggest "problems" with BG are interface issues and minor graphical quibbles, if they can clean some of that up then i'd love to play through them again
I'm in it to win it. glad to see they are making more than they hoped for. if this turns out well i really hope we see a return of classic crpg style games. which died completely without explanation at the height of their popularity
as soon as i get home from work im kicking in $100
i will kick in $100 for this, and for any blackisle type turn-based rpg kickstarter, plus an extra $100 for any that will have chris avellone on board...
im completely invested in street fighter x tekken right now, and will be for probably a few more months. sometime this spring i plan on playing ME3, but my interest in starting it up is gone now that i know i can't use my team from part 2.
otherwise, im just waiting for guild wars 2 i guess
i will probably buy dark souls on pc (even though i have it on ps3 already), i would KILL for a toolkit for that game, i know it won't happen, but still
the ps2 had such a crazy large catalogue of games, i can't imagine how many hidden gems there are. I still shake my head when i think about the ps3 not being backwards compatible.... i don't want 4 systems hooked up to my tv....
i thought the plot was pretty decent in baldur's gate. BG2 plot and Kotor 1 plots were ok. nwn plot was probably the lowest point. mass effect 1 plot was weak, part 2 was barely present.
i'm expecting the plot for part 3 to be poor at best.
i hope that hawken game also includes larger slower mechs to play as. i don't really like the idea of being a small fast mech
edit: ok and after reading that neogaf post, AC3 just shot up on my priority list. sounds like the game will blend elements of red dead redemption with assassins creed in the best ways.
very excited about that game now
and i'd love to talk about fighting games, but i know no one else here feels the same way about them i do. but yeah, we all love obsidian/rpg games, so those get all the attention
i like the part with the snake. its my favorite picture. you should do concept art for snake games, maybe consider the ios for your project? apparently whatever that is prints money.
im excited about the american revolution being the setting, i love the time period.
mostly though, im excited at the chance we'll be going to paris for AC3.2 during the french revolution, that has been by far my favorite idea for a time and place for this series to go to.
i have an iphone and it's annoying enough to use the touchscreen for something as simple as angry birds. i can't imagine managing party formations and dealing with inventory.
maybe it would be better on an ipad?
