  1. I have no problem with action in adventure games. Early adventure games like Quest for Glory, Conquest of the Longbow, Monkey Island series, Fate of Atlantis, Full Throttle had action. The most unique adventure game of all time, Dune 1, even had strategy elements. Problem about Dreamfall's action is that it feels incredibly clunky & is just filler. But luckily most of the time it can be bypassed with stealth.
  2. I'm about halfway through the main quest of the Drakensang prequel. But I'm taking my time doing side quests and gathering ingredients/resources for alchemy/crafting. Radon Labs have outdone themselves. The game improves on Drakensang in every way, save graphics.
  3. Starring Freddie Prinze Jr?
  4. Progressing a storyline through puzzle solving is exactly the gameplay in adventure games. Whether it is braindead or not, depends on the difficulty of the puzzles. I wouldn't call Riven or Schizm braindead...
  5. It is a known issue with trying to run Dreamfall on a notebook with that graphics card. It is recommended to install 81.98 drivers. Also note that Dreamfall uses StarForce.
  6. I can understand why no one wants to farm in the Capital Wasteland, when around level 20 Deathclaws start to appear outside Megaton.
  7. I vote for a game called The Sims 5: Post-Nuclear Wasteland.
  8. Betrayal at Krondor came out 5 years before Return to Krondor, was written by Raymond Feist himself, and is abandonware. For Drakensang or otherwise DSA fans, while Shadows over Riva may be on GoG too (not sure), the first two, Blade of Destiny & Star Trail are also abandonware. A nice thing about Drakensang: River of Time is that there are a number of references to the Nordland trilogy.
  9. Is Fortification or Geth Shield Boost better than Barrier? I picked Barrier as a contingency for when Shepard's shields run out.
  10. If I remember correctly where one gets the Helmet of Balduran - that whole mess with the werewolves really isn't worth it.
  11. And everything that can't get cracked gets destroyed by a disinformation campaign anyway. Huzzah!
  12. Judging from the Dalish Elf origin, there's more to it than that.
  13. My favourite is "You n'wah!!".
  14. So, are all those 3 or 4 Awakenings companions supposed to be turned into Grey Wardens? If yes, is there a possibility for all of them to die during the Joining? What's a bit dubious about this "rebuilding the Order" plotline is that the game does a very bad job at presenting any compelling reason for the existence of Grey Wardens... there's only the startling revelation of Riordan 5 minutes before the game ends. But before that, none of your companions even gets tainted despite getting splattered by Darkspawn blood many times, not to mention trudging through the Deep Roads & Deep Trenches. It would've been more consistent if your companions would all get tainted and be forced to go through the Joining... and their survival depending on their disposition towards the PC. As it is now, if the only use for Grey Wardens seems to be putting a sword into the head of an Archdemon... why not simply distribute Archdemon blood all over Thedas and when a new Archdemon rises up, put some random people through the Joining to stake Archie if they survive?
  15. I'm happy as long as there is more of Bellegar.
  16. Watch it, Volo's gonna kick you in the head 'til you're dead for saying that.
  17. I was referring to a certain hellish QTE
  18. Does this game have rooms that try to kill the PC?
  19. Apparently that particular scene would be in the game if Morrigan & a female PC were friends. It seems odd to me... almost another case of a character suddenly acting differently to how (s)he was developed the entire game... like with Alistair after a certain decision during the Landsmeet.
  20. ME3 will probably end with Shepard introducing a virus into the Reapers from an iMac, making them all crashing down into the nearest Wolf-Rayet star.
  21. Will the companions die during the Joining if you didn't complete their loyalty mission?
  22. More news from the official forum (Lar_q is Swen Vincke, owner of Larian Studios):
  23. Would it be possible to somehow engineer the game so that Shepard comes out of the suicide mission as sole survivor?
  24. After the abomination that was KQ8, why hasn't it occurred to anyone that Activision may have done a service to humanity?
  25. After killing a boss my level 4/5 party thought they could immediately enter a temple in Drakensang: the River of Time and now they're getting raped by groups of 6 or 8 giant crabs (for those that might not have played Drakensang 1, these monsters are hellish to fight even one on one with their wounding attacks). Also, unlike a certain highly acclaimed AAA rpg the enemy AI usually targets the weakest link in the party, so it doesn't help when the lithe Elven ranger chick has to fight off 4 heavily armoured monstrosities with a puny dagger. Anyways, great fun.
