Apparently if you had talked to the mole in the tower previously, the monorail will blow up no matter what you do. Needs to be patched.

I ran into the monorail quest bug. Reloaded ten times and the few times I managed to reach the monorail in time and defused the bomb, it still exploded. R00fles!

Exploration is pretty danger-free in NV if you have ED-E and Boone/Veronica. But the game did give me quite a fright when I wandered into Dead Wind Cavern.

Grim Reaper Sprint perk was massively overpowered in FO3, it's good that it's changed. But energy weapons are way too weak against anything that wears armour. The laser rifle cannot even penetrate leather. Anyone know whether the weapons & armour of companions degrade in NV (I believe they didn't in FO3)?

Most level 20+ perks suck, hence one might as well pick Intensive training. Not to mention, some people started with STR 3 characters, thinking that no way in hell a pistol or rifle would require 6 STR (or more, see the AM rifle) to wield with maximum efficiency.

Chronic Exploritis.

High INT isn't necessary unless you're someone who wants to max out all skills on one playthrough. Put it below 6 for the occasional laughs, my character has 2 INT and does fine with mentats, skill books (of which there are plenty) and magical clothing. I use VATS if I'm not sniping because the regular gunplay is uber-twitch otherwise, and I cannot stand it.

It's a long weekend, so maybe I'll be able to finish FO:NV in time before the Dragon Knight saga is out here (5 November).

Is there any way to get to the area West of the Mesquite Mountains/Mojave outpost? I cannot climb across the mountains and the exit gate of Mojave outpost requires a key.

Looks more like an ogre to me. Trolls are supposed to be big and hairy. And you can only kill them permanently with fire.

I found a laser rifle in the trailer park of Nipton. But as for plasma weapons in the hands of raiders... I'd expect the BoS to rush out and rectify that little problem (then again, they were also defeated by the NCR, which is just pathetic). In FO2/FO3 plasma weapons were only avaible from the Enclave, IIRC.

Cleveland is ideal if FO4 will be set in Chicago (which it will probably be). It's a bit too far off from NV. Fallout New Vegas: the Top, set in Topeka, Kansas; now that would be ideal. Or hell, just take the setting to Mexico.

Since FO3's first DLC was in Pittsburgh, may I suggest Cleveland as the setting for the first DLC to NV?

Both laser rifles & plasma rifles should have a way higher DAM than they currently have in the game. Consider that in real life, Nd-YAG lasers are used to cut metals, and the beam of a laser rifle in FO is more powerful than the Nd-YAG. And plasma just burns through everything, that's why it is encapsulated into a very high magnetic field in tokamaks. In my opinion, energy weapons should be way more powerful, but also much more difficult to find (I got attacked by Powder gangers in the NCRCF wielding plasma pistols, for instance).

It seems to me you temporarily lose your disguise if you repair it with another one. This happened to me in the beginning of the game with the Powder gang.

I doubt the WOT game(s) will be book conversions, but will just make use of the setting, like the 2000 WOT videogame did (which was a pretty good fantasy FPS).

Nothing beats this so far: Both ED-E (carrying all my junk) & Mr Assassin fighting inside a rock. I almost didn't get ED-E out again.

It seems picking low INT was worth it after all. For some reason, the funny dialogue only seems to trigger when speaking with scientists and the like. Whoever wrote this, thank you for making me laugh out loud.

I don't care about power armour, but I really want the armour of the guy on the cover of the game box if it's included in the game. Looks pretty badass.

I'll just wait for the GOTY edition this time, so I get all the inevitable DLCs & expansions. The Witcher 2 comes out in the same month, anyway, and that's a much bigger blimp on my radar.
