  1. The environments in SI felt quite Morrowind-y after the ultra-bland Cyrodiil, Mania reminded me of Ascadian Isles and Dementia of Bitter Coast. I also remember a lot of the dungeons having small puzzles and little backstories.
  2. Well the cool guys card is working, then, don't give consumers too much credit. Have they really trash talked those two that much ? I remember them saying their game will look better than DA2 but nothing else, or I've forgotten. Here's their latest:
  3. I don't get it either. They're trying too hard to pull the "cool indie guys" card with their trash talking of BioWare & Bethesda, only to push out a title that's even more dumbed down than the aforementioned devs' latest titles... and somehow they get a free pass for all their histrionics while no-nonsense developers like Piranha Bytes, Larian Studios or *gasp* Reality Pump are all but ignored.
  4. Picked up my Deux Ex "Benelux Edition". It comes with a whole lot of extra stuff like double-barred rifle, grenade launcher, 10.000 credits, sniper rifle... is this normal? I never asked for this.

Pity I didn't know that. I only use Vix and Sartan to do their personal quests (I don't like the other half-giant either), but it would be nice to take along Finala in Aman'lu straight away.
  6. I loved only parts of Oblivion (both Gothic and even Two Worlds that came out in or around the same year, and did pretty much the same thing, were frankly way better). On the other hand, Shivering Isles was amazing, and Knights of the Nine was better than any questline in Oblivion as well.
  7. Now that I think of it, actually, in Broken World the main character no longer had the shield with him/her right? I wonder what happened to it. It's pretty useless anyway without the Agallan pillars.
  8. I wonder if the ME2 writers paid Cage royalties.
  9. Bethesda has always been good at listening to their fanbase and trying to fix what went wrong with their games. Oblivion was just a case of over-fixing. Let's face it, similar to CoD games they could just churn out another Oblivion clone and it would sell just as much. But they don't, and that's commendable.
  10. Finished Prince of Persia, though in reality it should've been called Fable 3: Oriental Edition. Pretty bad game overall and definitely worst PoP game of all time.
  11. Kinda puts CD Projekt fapping to 1 million sales in perspective.
  12. Oblivion had a fine soundtrqck Peace of Akatosh

Unless a mod exists, the 'problem' with DS2 is that you need to finish the game twice to unlock the highest difficulty setting and gain access to five party members. First time you play you can only take along three.
  14. She makes me think of Sis from Alpha Protocol. Wasn't she going to be blond?
  15. Can't you defeat them with words, forcing them to commit suicide after picking the red or blue option, like in Mass Effect?
  16. Prince of Persia 1? You also had to finish it in one hour.
  17. I had this game pre-ordered but couldn't be bothered to pick it up today. Maybe next week. Maybe I'll try an unarmed/social build. That's possible, right? I'm sick of stealth and cover-shooter mechanics.
  18. Not to be a spoilsport, but DA2 > ME2.
  19. I've been playing some old Dynamix and Microprose adventures, but also gave that 2008 PoP game a try. I'm glad I could pick it up extremely cheap, because early impressions are very bad. About the only good thing about the game so far is that it looks really good, despite no graphical settings being present in the game menu, what's up with that? Combat is a dull Fable-like button mashing affair without any risk of dying because of the magical chick that saves your butt if you screw up. There's also constantly prompts on the screen to push buttons during combat and the like, very distracting and annoying. Platforming is ok, but the camera is pretty terrible, making it hard to know where to go next and turning the whole thing into a trial-and-error affair more often than not although again, the magical chick saves your butt if you fall to your doom. For some reason, for all her omnipotent-ness she still needs to jump on the Prince's back for some reason, which again is pretty distracting. Also, having to collect 60 orbs of light after killing a boss in order to continue... real fun. Perhaps the Prince calling out to Farah in the beginning of the game, and Farah turning out to be a donkey rather than the nubile Princess of old, is symptomatic of the game as a whole compared to its predecessors of the same company.
  20. I want to be a Breton.
  21. Forgot to mention: it's nice how in the expansion archery and two-handed weapons suddenly become "awesome". As useless as Oghren was in Origins, the little guy's an unstoppable juggernaut in Awakening. Nathaniel did 200 damage a shot just by activating Accuracy. High-level dual wielding talents suck in comparison, though it's funny killing a Revenant in five seconds with Unending flurry.
