  1. "No Remorse" or "No Regret" probably.
  2. Excuse me guys but do you really know what I.P., Copy"right" and lastly (and most modernly) Drm come from? I know you are going to say that This is irrevelant as it deals with an other medium but to put things into perspective I would recommend reading it. Andalso a quick tidbit, A developer studio, depending on his size and game's price, earns something like 1.5 to 7.5 $ from each sold retail game if he has a clause in his contract for earning from sales. Nearly half the price goes to retailer (and cargo and etc) the other half goes to the publisher
  3. Yes and No Morgoth. Yes the graphichal quality is somewhat around the last gen. of Id engines but at the same time No because unlike old engines this time the game/engine will be able to support some truly massive areas and do it without making the system bleed. (or so it is advertised ). Id seems to have dropped Graphical Prettines from their list to focus on figuring how to get bigger areas than Q2-Unreal-Halo standarts. On a related note (I'm not sure how much of this is pr bull but) Id says that their open areas are not going to be copy-paste areas without any interactive things like destructible (ie toppleable) rock formations, giant bones and other stuff
  4. As far as the released materials and interviews suggest, the game will have as much rpg as Diablo. (Stats and Skills, Inventory). There is a big probability of alternate / conflicting factions but no info if they will be stepping stones for the main quest or just side dishes. There is also a possibility of choices in accepting missions or not. But again we have no hard info if you can say "go to hell" to a main faction/questgiver and continue the story in an alternate way.
  5. That game was a beautiful Attack Helicopter Simulation. (Well. Nevermind that the helicopter in question was a 25ton mass of flying muscle with a lot of IQ )
  6. Will: Would you like to hear some generic tips (that were earned in pain) on general strategies? (Nexus)
  7. You know, this is really getting idiotic. Ban peeing as it is associated with "those" organs, ban undead for being a cultural "Taboo" (whichy is ironic as chinese are among the sanest people on the topic of death and afterlife. In other words they can talk rationally about it), Ban showing the very tips of breasts... Whine for cruelity to animals... When the hell did we (mankind) started living in some far off choo-choo land?
  8. I would have liked to say something polite but I haven't played a game from them. GRAW was praised by some of my friends but I never played it. Also Movie and Old game ports seem to be dead end for a lot of companies. When will they ever learn?
  9. Eschalon Book I. I am a sucker for these games I guess

    Books

I don't think there is an aswer to this question. Living in today's world most of the "old" SF stories' nuances are hard to grasp for me (I never experienced a revolution, cold war fears, world war, military dictatorship or the hope of stars (Apollo and its predecesors as my country was a pro-west country once) first hand.) Thats why the young adut books of Heinlein or Foundation series of Asimov or first book of Dune havent branded my brain too deeply. Then there is the age and romance factor. In some periods of your life you might eat up the Pern and Earthsea and similar (in its tone as far as my limited imagination is able to express it) stories. Then you might hunt for Honorverse, Vorkosigan Saga, Startrek, Starwars, Stargate etc. My answers would be from a newer generation of books. but I can't tell you "This is the best ever"
  11. Btw, On the business of using Anatolia to Attack Russia (or Balkans); Do you have any idea what Anatolia looks like on a map ? The only realistic route to use is the middle parts of Anotolia and we did see how well it worked for Motorised Transport (in hostile country) without any log support or any train lines. Hell the place didn't even have any roads that were capable of handling major transits. Sure the Tankettes and Bunker systems at Marmara region wouldn't have stopped the Germans but their attack would have opened the southern coast to Allied landings.
  12. Actually this is not true. The Soviets were also preparing to hit the Germans (At least they were creating serious ammo and fuel dumps and other logistical supports). If the Germans Were more prepared for the winter, (Both in supplies and in mindset) they could have broken the Soviets. Anyway, the German high command didn't make too many mistakes but their mistakes were fatal in the long run; -As MEntioned before, Hitler was a "dumb NCO" as far as the Battlefield tactics go. If he was not trying to Micro-Manage the war (and had some yes-man in some positions) The german offensive could have been much more deciding. There are lots of instances where high-command or generals in charge had to... nag and beg Hitler for permission. -Being Bogged down in Russia instead of letting them (encircled positions) die on the vine. while hitting the logistics. -Letting Brits and Polish regulars escape and regroup -Italian Blunders -Technological Blunders (Over Engineering on later model Tanks) They were a hair's breath away from crumbling everyone to dust. (1943+ is just spiralling down to dust. Don't consider that period for a chance of total Victory.) As the Generals of the old have said, Amateurs study tactics. Pros study logistics.
  13. So this means, we can have "Drei-handers" to wield two handed?
  14. Oh come on, how can you say that a game that features Americans going back in time using alien tech (left over from a crash or something I think) to gather the fuel (Siberite as it is found in Siberia) and move it to Alaska? Not to mention they run into Reds who are on a mission to steal the Alaskite from alaska to Siberia? (Can you say alternate timlines ?). There is even a commando Op going on featuring Arab oil Baron(s)-Sponsored Mercenaries... Persistant game world, Limited number of troops (who carry on and level up from mission to mission), Prefab structures, and "Not So Long" range missles with fusion warheads? You are so full of air !1!!eleventy!

  16. They have stated that it will be a new IP. A part of me want's to be cross at them for not making a Starcraft MMO. Then again they might still create a Science-Fiction based setting (Probably not a Space-Opera setting thou ) instead of a Fantasy setting so the Sci-Fi nerd in me is still hopeful. Having played the game (WoW) up to 70 end game actively and 80 (on tryouts) I can say that WoW is currently a few years ahead of rest of the competition (Phasing, Story Lines, Settlements) and they are not really shy to steal from other MMOs too (Public Quests, Collectables, Daily Quests). I think that if they manage to continue where WoW finishes (in tech areas) with overhauled graphics and different style with their new MMO, they will have a very big advantage over others (they could also give incentives like %x discount to existing wow users and such to ensure that a big portion of wow playerbase goes onto the new mmo for trial at least.)
  17. Hey! you can find those in every Internet group. Can you say that we don't have any of them here?
  18. :D Actually I don't hate Fallout 3 or Oblivion. They are beautiful games for a Modder to go wild and create really complex stuff. What I hate about them is the total lack of support from original developers (in terms of bug fixes and patches). Nearly everything done to "fix" these games are either community patches or "community reverse engineerings" (like script extenders and such). Fallout 3 had its nice moments. What irks me is the fact that these nice moments are all alone drifting in a wast ocean... Just a simple chain of them could have been a classic story.
  19. No they didn't! They just "streamlined" in house development studio. Also I have a real nice estate called Brooklyn Bridge, that I can sell you cheap.
  20. Nma Forums, like the Obsidian boards, is not a single entity. There are always different voices. Yes, there are people who hate Fallout 3 but mostly, its Just an Oblivion mod set in a PA setting. Sure it is covered in post-its from "Fallout Universe" but its just another medicore FPS Hybrid Sandbox game with a decent to good toolbox as a free present. I will state this again, While NMA Boards might be biased, NMA Site has been trying to keep its scope open and remain Natural.
  21. Why Purkake? For telling the truth and being chased out of town? They dissected and identified the weak points while the game was still in development. Now, after all the pr cash has dried up (for this game) we see some journalists come out and say that the game has problems. The same thing happened with Oblivion too. Is calling a spade, spade too "fanboyish" these days?
  22. Hurlshot (Why do I keep reading your name Hurtsalot?) yes there was a lot of worry at the projects announcement but as time went by the opinion soured and soured. Nearly every news about the game was about how awesome it was (going to be) or how cool it was or how big explosions they had. There were more than a few quaries on the quality of writing and overall story (plus another "few" quaries about Radiant AU and Voiceover quality) and as a general, those were ignored by news releases and flamed away at the official forums. Sure you can call someone biased but it should not be suprising toı see that they don't like you after painting them as old reactionary dinasaurs and glittering gems of hatred. On another not, despite NMA Forums being "old" Fallout, NMA News site has been compiling every news about the game and has been doing "natural" reviews of the game and Dlcs.
  23. Heh. Quite sad actually. We haven't been able to move ahead of X-Com 1 yet. Sure better graphich, smoother interfaces, more voices... But we are still not as advanced as X-Com...
  24. Uh that.... umm... Yea, it was for copy pasted... umm *casts distract *casts vanish *casts sprint...
