  1. It's a beginning. You can't have changes over night-- america tried that multiple times and it made things worse, every single time. PS: Saudi Arabia is not an inch better than Iran, yet they are our "friends" .. lel. /edit: Trumps circus isn't much better, by the way.
  2. Bwahahaha, that's more like it! Could you imagine the full body convulsion that would take place worldwide if the US government did that? That's 15 or what idiots out of 290. Somehow every news article forgets to mention that. But yes, surely they must all be the same, yadda yadda.
  3. Well, pretty much all side missions in the campaign are based on the skirmish mode. Considering this (the campaign is only like 8 missions or something), it makes a lot sense to balance around the actual skirmish mode. Still doesn't mean light mechs should become crap at a certain tonnage limit. 213374U suggestion with the evasion could work, by the way. I'm curious if HBS will do something like this.
  4. So far I like the Caribbean theme, the visuals, the music, etc. What I can't stop complaining about is - once again - all of the overwritten dialog. I've just started (played about 80 minutes), but already seeing me skipping the greyed out texts in dialog. Had the same issue in PoE1 and Torment and any other nowadays game...
  5. lol PoE2 is just out of the door and there already comes an announcement for 3 DLCs. They really should have waited at least a week for that, imo.
  6. Yeah. The longer I play, the more I wish they had added a tonnage limit (per mission?). This way you would have to chose e.g. if you want to bring 1 heavy + 2 mediums + 1 light, or 3 mediums + 1 light, etc.. This way it would have been easier to make light mechs still viable in late game. I can't see how that would otherwise be possible.
  7. Is it just me or is the forum dying right now? Also 4.7k users online. Usually I don't scroll down this far, so I don't know how many people are online on average.
  8. Trump has yet to announce about the iran deal? Boy, what is taking him so long... Waiting for half the day already.
  9. Yeah, seen it just a second after. Then I thought, ah whatever, because I suck at haikus.
  10. Well I just bought Deadfire. Probably wouldn't have done it if not for the recent drama. PoE2 wasn't on my radar at all before that stuff started.
  11. Can't prove if he is or not, so might as well act as if he is.
  12. I kinda agree, but then again, JA2 didn't really needed it either. It's your avatar in the world, really not much more. I'd rather criticize that dialog options or anything you do in general has no influence whatsoever. There are no choices, there are no consequences (not counting the events that give you either a little money or a little bit moral). It's pretty much a textbook linear campaign similar to how the first Shadowrun game was extremely linear.
  13. Not yet, but I still have 3 more episodes to go. The casting of the first siren is pretty good, imo. She has some weirdly looking face for that. The second siren on the other hand just looks like your generic black girl. Bad choice. Also feels like forced diversity once again. I'm pretty sure they are going to fight each other later, because the one had a good experience with the humans and the other had not. Hope it won't end in always the same cliches.
  14. It's just pure RNG. I've *never* hit a called shot to the head at all in my 73 hours so far, but every once in a while my generic non-aimed shots will do it.
  15. Is that a picture for ants? :>
  16. So I started watching this Sirens tv show. So far it's actually not that bad. I'm wondering if it spawned from this Shape of Water thingy. I'm curious if there is going to be fish sex at some point between the siren, the male lead and the other female lead.
  17. Yeah, the beta patch is via Steam. I usually always opt-in to beta patches for like any game. About the blonde hair: That's the closest you can do. Not perfect, but oh well. No idea why there is no brighter hair color, considering there is red and pink and stuff, but I find it hard to believe that this is due to some weird sjw agenda.
  18. I've started a new campaign with some slight modifications to the starting mechs. Gave me an Atlas, a Catapult and a Hunchback, because why not. \o/ Playing with the beta patch, and it does feel like enemy compositions have been tweaked. I have yet to see a single mission with additional reinforcements. In fact, in one mission there was even a landingship insertion. This is a much different experience than what I had in my first campaign where I had reinforcements almost every match. Also: I've only done the first story mission. Then started an assassination contract.... and the target is a Catapult. Wtf. In my last campaign I hadn't seen one until 30 or so hours in. Random really can be a bitch at times.
  19. lol, apparently Feargus tried to get his young children into Obsidian as employees?
  20. Well, at least 35.5k people were playing it at peak on Steam: http://steamcharts.com/app/637090 /edit: Ooooh, I just noticed there is an "Event Editor" in the games folder now. Seems we are able to make our own... Man, really sucks that I am such a ****ty writer. Otherwise I'd start on a couple new events right away.
  21. But isn't this exactly how the old Bard's Tale was? Personally didn't gave any money to that, as I never really played such games.
  22. This looks interesting:https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/mods/25 Probably going to try this on my post-end savegame. /Edit: Ok, doesn't seem to work retroactively. If the difficulty increased already, there is no way back.
  23. Well, I'm facepalming as well about the news, but then again, it's Bavaria....
  24. Umm, has anyone here said that, or has this anything to do with the hand at matter? And for the record, Chris was always humble about his writing, and contrary to other "writers" in the industry, he never tried to write a novel (cough cough, Dragon Age books anyone), probably because he knows his place. The most he did is some novellas for Kickstarter games. And if you don't think that his writing is pretty good in terms of videogame writing, you don't know what are you talking about. So thank for your insight, it meant a lot.Actually, he did try to write a novel. It was one of the Wasteland 2 backer rewards. Back then they said the novel is shaping up great and it is so good that they wanted to make it bigger or something, which is why it got delayed. It hasn't been released till today if I remember right, and I'm guessing inXile hopes everyone forgot about it already. Other than that, he wrote a lot for comics and pen and paper games and stuff like that. So your point of him only writing for games is simply wrong. Wasn't there also a planescape book that was awful similar to all the stuff in planescape torment? Some folks claimed he took plenty inspiration from it years ago. Don't really remember the details about this, though, so might as well just have been BS.
  25. But what does Battletech have to do with CRPGs? :> The game is not an RPG. Even the character creation is pretty much pointless. Except for your surname / callsign, nothing gets ever addressed anywhere in the game. Also there are no choice & consequences outside of the few random events that can happen while traveling - and their outcomes are just marginal at best as well.
