  1. Way back during the campaign on KS, though, post is probably lost and I can't be worked to go find it currently. But was some guy wanting to essentially play a rapist or mind-controlling one, anyway. Not too sure he was serious though. Ah hah, there it is - http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60688-romance-in-project-eternity-how-important-how-much/page-14?do=findComment&comment=1211861
  2. Why not, some freak brought it up last time
  3. http://www.gog.com/game/gray_matter Gray Matter for $3.99
  4. Of course that's always a good emotion to work with, betrayal. But about betrayal and then possible redemption? So in your example they take some items ( not XP ) and then you can track them down, find out why but still forgive them. Good Romance arc idea Malc Nah, much better to just screw the player over and leave them regretting the whole silliness. Chasing after some love that spurned you for some cheap redemption moment is pablum.
  5. That'd be a nice end to the romance in a game - the other party flips out on you and takes half your gear and XP.
  6. Just slogging through Abbadon's Gate now, which is a shame. Book is rather boring at 60% in so far - Holden is the same, the Roci's crew isn't around which is a mixed thing for me. Is funny though, how the protagonists are always right when it comes to judgments in the end, it seems, well and being righteous through and through. Ah well, once I finish this, it's either Dispatches by Michael Herr or The Time of Contempt
  7. Nah, that's known as a launch trailer. I guess it goes teaser trailer -> cinematic trailer -> launch trailer
  8. Well, that's pretty much all mod makers, in terms of extending the game as well that is what a mod is for. So I guess they are mainly lazy then, not weirdos primarily, to go for the low hanging fruit in terms of features to add rather than tackle something harder. Additonally, these are mods produced not necessarily consumed, so that's not much of an indication that romance is now a popularly required feature for games (the idea that without them, the party NPCs are bots is also worrying - hopefully one realizes they're not real people.) as one can make a mod that's never used. But I suppose that's easily answered by the OP providing a link to the mod sites. Not saying that that isn't true - about it being a popular thing, mind you - Bioware fans are a strong proof otherwise, heh.
  9. Pretty meh trailer, the ME3 one was far better. Morrigan's "set them free" sentence was said with weird lips.
  10. You're basing off one, I'm going with his statement that there are numerous romance mods - a lot does not mean all - and therefore they are popular and companies should follow. Hm, not really mutually exclusive ideas, I suppose - weirdos are a good market to exploit as any.
  11. All that proves is a lot of mod makers are lonely weirdos, really.
  12. Repeated failures is indicative of something though, if you've watched cooks trying to cook the mystical turkey and failing, you have to start to wonder if not bothering is a more pragmatic course of action. Might work well over a series of games, then there's more bits and pieces to add into the "relationship" between your virtual lovers to make it seem less hurried and cheap.
  13. Kind of rich to read this after your post. Now that the game is on GOG, should be a matter of time before it's on a decent sale.
  14. A bit, just dallied with it in a blind playthrough in that I didn't read the manual. From what I did experience it was fun to play politics within and outside my kingdom and build a dynasty - somehow lucked out being clueless and ended up inheriting a huge kingdom, heh. In EU4 Playing as Muscovy/Russia I do manage to avoid a lot of diplomacy and the overseas colonization aspects of the game, it seems - I just spend my time worrying about bastard Europeans invading me and beating up Asians for the most part. Maybe I will play as a Western nation or something else to see that side of the game. It's a fun little empire builder, though I strongly suspect at these "random" events that happen to be a kick in the nuts to me every time
  15. I'm finding it enjoyable, is my first game in the EU series though so I can't compare it to earlier games on what was lost or not.
  16. Europa Universalis IV stil, second attempt is going ok. Just beating up nations in the middle east at this point and collecting vassals. Though just waiting for the time the mighty Lithuanian-Denmark alliance that runs half of Europe to turn on me.
  17. Referee was ok, match wasn't as rough as the 2010 final I found. Hoewedes was lucky, as was Aguero to not get a second yellow for the hit on Schweinsteiger (boy did that guy get worked on during that game).
  18. That's awful for Kramer. Dude looked glassy eyed
  19. Used to enjoy the 3rd place games, bleh to this.
  20. But you still have the requirements, functional architecture, and some reusable code, right? Right? Yeah, it's all checked in, which is a pain in the ass as we now have to back all that stuff out. But it's all lying in some patch on our servers some place. Kind of funny, but I see their point - don't pay up when you paid for something and it was broken on delivery and then they ask you to pay to fix it.
  21. Interesting, I thought they'd not bother about comfort there.
