Decided to finally give NWN a try, haven't gotten very far in it yet. Sad that the graphics are putting me off for some reason.

I kept expecting raid warnings during that last fight. Haven't gotten the Templars to help me out, the golems worked pretty nicely though - they all died, but it took a while.

Found a copy of Jane's Longbow 2 in my closet, having a good bit of fun with it. Sad how they don't make flight sims at all these day, or so it seems to be.

Fired up Worms Armageddon, forgot how fun cartoon worms killing each other could be.

How many other games are copying ME's system though ? I know AP seems to be, but not much else. Who knows more might do it (especially the chimps with typewriters at Beth). In any case, odd to say the 90's are overrated for gaming, mostly people mention that with regards to the quality rather than the popularity. They've certainly influenced developers making the "classics" of this decade. You're right about people remembering these in times to come though, mostly due to the IP living past its prime

What was so great about ME's dialogue system ? And DA's Origin thing, yeah, amazing really. Not really sure why it matters if the mainstream gets something in terms of a game being good, though. But I guess everything's been done to death over the years, so can't really be disappointed.

Well as a Fallout fansite, they have to post tidbits and stories about all things Fallout related, including Bethesda's offering. If the users of the site decide to be snarky and not very warm to it, well, so be it. I've not really seen people bash Fallout 3 when discussing the weather or something completely unrelated.

Yeah, no kidding, especially at the Deep Roads part - just an endless tunnel crawl. TW's travel never bothered me that much, still hated the swamp the first time due some waters being passable.

What's "so-called" about that argument ? Seems pretty strawman, when those people apply it to complaints about stuff like the SPECIAL or the MQ. Ah, games these days, sad.

Well he's right about everyone in the NMA folk and their opinion of Beth's engine and so on, the "there" is a key word The bobbleheads were kind of silly, added to the whole MMOG feel of the game now that I think of it (and all the varied locations jammed right next to each other too).

Medieval Total War 2. Just Rome : TW with Knights, but is pretty fun.

Me neither. Granted, the subway tunnels were fun when I decided to play the Quake 2 soundtrack while running around in them, but any delight I gleaned from wandering around in the map faded pretty quickly. But some people go ga-ga over this, so *shrug*

Weird, I paid $55 before tax for the original game.

Damn, it better be worth it for that price. Hm, tempted to just wait for a GOTY pack though.

Didn't even play 10 games this year, was too picky. But I'd go with Tales of Monkey Island ARMA II Borderlands Risen Dragon Age other games I really enjoyed this year came out 10 years ago or so, like Deus Ex, Anachronox and Operation Flashpoint. :D
