FO3 pirated in less than 24 hours after gold
Killian Kalthorne replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
I'm not sure how that would hinder ones enjoyment. It makes such a mess on the keyboard which a sponge just cannot clean up. -

Yes, but do they use 3/4 isometric view and 2D graphics? I did use commas and an "and" to connect all three qualifiers. -
FO3 pirated in less than 24 hours after gold
Killian Kalthorne replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
No, but one needs to accept the fact that the days of slow turn base, 3/4 isometric view, and 2D graphics are long over in triple A titles. You may still see them in indie games, but for top titles those days are long gone. You can either accept that fact and adapt your tastes or stop gaming fresh new games. Adapt or die. You can play BG1 and Fallout 2 only so many times till your brain oozes out of your nostril. The only real thing that matters is if the game is fun or not. Fallout 3, I have no doubt, will be fun to play on my XBox 360, just like Oblivion is. -

It is going to be Fallout for the 21st century, Dark Raven. Times have changed. Either change with them or go with the way of the dodo. -
Old, really old, Arcade Classics Renewed...
Killian Kalthorne posted a topic in Computer and Console
I had this odd thought. What if someone took all the old arcade and Atari classics and redid them with today's tech. I get images of Joust with a first person view or Super Mario Brothers in an actual 3D sewer maze with over the shoulder view. Hmmm... -

Leaked or not, if the game is worth buying then people who planned on buying it will buy it anyway, and the people who plan on pirate it will pirate it anyway. This doesn't change one bit my purchasing plans. -
Wouldn't you? I mean, lets snap that crackle and pop all over!

Why is ME better/worse than other Bioware games
Killian Kalthorne replied to Nick_i_am's topic in Computer and Console
Actually the graphics of the game is damn good. The story was not bad either. With it being designed as a trilogy we only seen the first act. -
Volourn, he was drunk. He knowingly and with conscience choice choose to drink alcohol around a child which he was responsible for. He made that choice and because he was irresponsible, that he was gross negligent in his duties to keep a child under his care safe from harm he deserves more than 2 years in prison.

Carth annoyed me. Kaiden didn't. Personally, I liked ME over KotOR then again I am not particularly fond of Star Wars. I thought ME was a good blend of action and story. The role play was there, but it could have ben better but the overall fun factor makes it the top game in my book. Dagon would disagree of course, but that's okay. -
I would never do that in Japan. Australia maybe, but never in Japan.

He should have gotten 5 to 10 years. Downing beers while being in charge of watching a child is not a "little negligent." It is gross negligence and downright stupid.

If you can afford to own a home then own a home, if you cannot then you shouldn't. That is my view on it. I cannot afford to buy a house, and to tell the truth I don't want to, however people who save their money, work to maintain good credit will eventually be able to own a house if they put forth the work to do so. The problem is that people think they deserve it even when they have done nothing to earn it.

The point is there wasn't any need for the first set of regulations. Banks and financial institutions are businesses. When they loan money out, may it be a mortgage or a car loan, they need to make sure the people they are loaning the money to have the ability and the will to pay it back with interest. The problem here is that the RCA forced banks to loan money to people who could not afford the loan. If they didn't loan money to these people who could not afford the loan they would get hit with a lawsuit for discrimination which is a bunch of bull. Since these banks were forced to loan money to high risk people who just did not have the means to pay it back they had to do something to get as much as their money back as possible and that is where the variable interest rate came in. Now if the RCA was not in placed, and banks only loaned money to people who can afford them we would not be in this situation in the first place. When you lend billions and billions of dollars to a group of people who cannot afford to pay it back there will be a crisis. There will be a financial backlash that will tear the economy down. It just wasn't bad government regulation, it was the fact that the government sought to regulate it at all.
-
The problem are the regulations. First they made the first set of regulations called the Reinvested Community Act. Then the made a second set of regulations to regulate the regulations in the 1990's. Now, since that didn't work, they are going to implement regulations to regulate the regulations that were to regulate the original regulations. Of course all of this may have been avoided if the first set of regulations wasn't put in place at the very beginning.

I blame both the Democrats and Republicans for the financial crisis. The Democrats for setting us up with CRA, and the Republicans failing to act against it when they had both a majority hold on Congress and the Republican president. Also I blame Bush and his war policies for the overall economic slump and gas prices. There are some things I am all for socialism for, namely healthcare, but there i9s some things that needs to remain capitalistic in its function and that is banking and financial institutions. You just can't lend billions of dollars to people who can't pay it back. That is just stupid, yet our government forced banks to do just that.
-
I fail to see a problem here.
-
The thing is they could have played this being one of the key issues. The whole financial meltdown and mortgage crisis stems from the Carter Administration when the democrats had power both in Congress and the Presidency. The Reinvestment Community Act is the nutshell that accumulated to our current financial woes. Mind you a Republican congress and presidency, like what we had prior to 2006 could have reversed it if they pushed it so that is a failing on their part.

What's up with games that don't feature subtitles?
Killian Kalthorne replied to Matthew Rorie's topic in Computer and Console
Volourn, just for your information, there isn't a language called American. -
Well, back in 2000 I was actually for McCain. I found him being the better choice than Bush and Gore. It was a damn shame Bush didn't pick him VP over Cheney. I just think that with all things considered, with the running mates, the current world situation, and after 8 years of Bush, Obama is the best choice out of the two. Would be nice if the Libertarians, the REAL Republicans some will say here in Iowa, had a real shot but that isn't going to happen any time soon. Besides, if you only had one source of that photo then it is probably would be faked but if you had multiple sources, independent of each other that can confirm the photo was real then you would have a much stronger case.

Um, Volourn, that is to protect her from as in against witchcraft, meaning she is against it and she sought protection from it. The fact she thinks that witchcraft has any sort of "supernatural" power that she needs protection from tells me that she is a Class-A nutjob. I think you need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills, Volourn.
-
I will not vote for McCain, no matter what, Guard Dog. The main reason is Sarah Palin. I do not want that nutjob anywhere near the presidency. She would be far far worse than Obama. For godsakes she had some guy from Africa do some "ritual" to protect her from "witchcraft" just prior her governorship. If McCain had someone normal, maybe I could be convinced but as long as Palin is on the ticket, hell freakin' no.
