  1. Possibily. I'm not going to argue on anyone's behalf. People want to hear from team-gizka themselves. Posting in this thread without new news creates some tension. I would rather hear about their progress than anyone else's banter. Only a suggestion -- Let's be adults here. People are arguing over a game modification. Lets keep the thread open for the owners.
  2. Knights of the Old Republic: Bastila Canderous Ordo The Sith Lords: Visas Marr Mira
  3. Don't take the thread's silence in a negative way. People are still in support of team-gizka's efforts. I'm only guessing when I say that people want team-gizka to come to them. We can speculate until blood rushes to our brains. I like LucasForum's approach. Don't post in the thread until a core member of team-gizka leaves a report. No one on the outside can give any new information. We know what you know. Nothing has changed for a while. We are waiting to hear from them, so we are leaving the light on for them. All they have to do is call.
  4. Id like to pick your brain. Exactly how fast is your fiber optic speed? Did you have to pay extra for installation of the fiber optics into your house (IE: running the wiring through your walls)? Whats the monthly rate? Since others may have questions, I re-edited this post. I have the slowest FiOS you get obtain, but it is insanely faster than DSL. Here are the details: 1) Verizon FiOS 2) Install Price: Free 3) 10 DL/2 UL 4) They do not rewire the house. All they do is readjust the tv-cable wire so it is compatible for FiOS. 5) $29.99per/mnth 6) $69.99per/mnth with phone 7) Lucation: New England, US As for our topic: No problem man. I had NetZero. Grr...
  5. According to a forumite over at LucasForums, the Exile is a lightside female character. Her official name is The Jedi Exile. I guess there are new official materials out, which changes the assumptions people have created over time. Maybe someone over at LucasBooks is setting things straight. Since tsl was filled with gaps, bugs, and other issues, maybe the official story wasn't as straight forward. Leaving information out of a story can send false messages. Was Obsidian successful in editing the dialogue before game release? Were the missing pieces just as important as we believed them to be? Or, were they completely omitted. Did someone at LucasBooks make a choice to clear things up? Are we being prepared for part three? I just read somewhere that the true Sith species was from Korriban, and they were made up of two distinct races. Before the fallen Jedi arrived to Korriban, a portion of one of the species had left. Everyone else had breed with the fallen Jedi, or they had become slaves to their cause. There is more information coming from LucasBooks now.
  6. When I first found the problems, I looked online for some answers. Since it was very early in the release, not many people were outspoken about the issues. As a result of not finding the answers, Neverwinter 2 sat on the game shelf for a few years. While everyone else was playing through the expansion, my copy was just sitting collecting dust. If you think about the cost, your looking at $49.99 for the core game and $29.99 for the expansion. Sure, I could have played the core game at any point in time; however, I wanted to play them both from beginning to end. Obsidian did this awsome upgrade to the Neverwinter universe, and I wanted to just get into the fun and action. Around two or three months ago, I descided to clear the dust off the boxes. After playing around with keywords on Google, I managed to find others with my similar problem. Upon finding those manual patches, I jumped across the room like a kid on Christmas. Eventhough I found my solution, I was upset at one interesting thing. There was no statement about the issues at Obsidian or Atari's site, nor were there any supported solutions for dial-up gammers. Could you imagine how many people had these problems, and there was no offical dial-up solution for patching? You know what the numb thing about this is? About three days ago, a few moths after painstakenly downloading 100mb+ of patches, I ended up switching over to FiOS. Lol... Even though my internet service has been upgraded, I still think the dial-up support for gammers is horrible. Yes. People can be real complainers, but I can really feel their pain. Obsidian or Atari should have said and done something. -------------------------- Added Edit: It took me 24hours to download 24MB out of 48MB, and that was with a download accelarator. Imagine the time it took me to download 100mb+ to patch this game. Grrr...
  7. I think most people would agree, but correct me if I'm way out of line. If you were to purchase a car from Ford, you would want it to work when the key is turned. Some people purchased a version of Neverwinter 2's expansion, which caused the main core modules to become currupt. Instead of the game working straight out of the box, some people had to apply a patch to fix the problems. "Hey! Just return it for an exchange!" I wish it were that easy. At the time of the issue, the same version was still on the shelf. People would just exchange the same version for the same version. You would still have the problems. When Toys-R-Us or Target makes a serious mistake, they apologize to the public and present a solution. Atari and Obsidian didn't make the issue public. Instead of being sympathetic to the customer, they said, "Patch the game and leave us alone.' If people truely wanted to send a statement, you could allways go to the BBB. Obsidian should have placed a notice on their website. Its good for customer relations. Since some of us have dial-up, Obsidian and Atari should also make the patch available for easy downloading. Updating the game through the game's updater on dial-up is difficult. Making the patches available for manual installation would show that Obsidian and Atari actually care about consumers. Just my two cents. Neverwinter 2 is a great game, and it would be a shame to not have Obsidian and Atari's support. I really like these guys or gals, and I hope a more universal solution could be presented. I'm also praying that they learn from these mistakes.
  8. Shhh... Click Here Shhh... More organized: Click Here a) Install both the core and expansion game first. b) Install the nwn2_pcx1_english_from1101115_to1101116 second. Upgrade your game to: nwn2_pcx1_english_from1101115_to1101116.zip When you have everything in place, the game and the dialogue problems will be fixed. This will fix the core modules as well, so you can get passed that first shared quest. Good luck. From one upset customer to another, you make some really good points. Obsidian and Atari have quietly allowed the manual downloads, but they will not support anything that goes wrong. Use at your own risk. I also believe that there should be somehting done, so that consumers are protected from the 'patch later' perspective. Keep in mind that there are no current laws protecting software consumers. Why? There is the potential for burning software copies and then returning them to the store. Until we are able to get more secured consumer protection laws, which also protect the publishers, we have to deal with these issues through patching. If we can stop people from burning copies, we can find a way to return a game for refunds or exchanges. This goes for DVD movies also.
  9. Wait for it..Wait for it... "...I want you to save the Republic." "Why?" "I don't care who wins the war, but I don't want the Republic to fall." "Wait!? Let me get this straight. I raced through the streets of Nar Shaddaa, took out a crime lord, you kidnaped me last second, my friend fought through your ship, so you can tell me to save the Republic?!" "Exactly, and I will also come with you." "Uh?! Sorry man, but I left the Ebon Hawk double parked. Plus, Atton has this whole nasal problem. Everytime the poor man speakes it sounds like his nose is ready to blow." "Hey! Where you going." "Gotta' run!"

Wait!? What do you mean they haven't been announced?
  11. It comes down to this simple problem -- Tracking 1002 known issues and counting. This bug list can go on forever. Once they fix one set of bugs, another set of bugs shows up. I give them great credit for trying to knock them all out. Spending so many years on the new modifications is a terrific task. What a hell of a bug crushing ride. I couldn't imagine watching them do this for three years. My attention span is kind of short. I wish them all the luck.
  12. I disagree. Obsidian's forums are all about their products. Technical issues are just apart of the deal. I love comming to this site, for I can get some bug issues answered. I don't really come here for the Star Wars chat. I do come here for the technical support and other Obsidian product news. Anything else related to Star Wars is secondary. Thats why they have another Star Wars forum.
  13. Seeing as though team-gizka is not a professional group, people should be aware of the risk in installing fan based modifications. I would be very surprised if there were not any bugs.
  14. I originally played Knights 2 without the knowledge of any type of cut content. Evaluating both Knights 1 and Knights 2 based upon my initial experiences, from playing the games straight out of the box, is being fair. Imagine walking into an electronic or retail store and buying a product, with your hard earned money, and then learning that it doesn't work. Obsidian now has a track record of making products that are broken or incomplete. Another example of what I'm saying is evidence from installing Neverwinter 2's Mask of the Betrayer. Upon the installation of the expansion, I had to patch the game to make the whole thing work. What ever happend to things working upon purchase? I shouldn't have to do anything else. I cannot evaluate Knights 2's story, for it is a broken product that needs fixing. Looking beyond the bugs and glitches of Knights 2 is tough. Seeing as the storyline is filled with gaps, I cannot give Knights 2 a fair evaluation. Knights 1's story is the most comprehensible. Star Wars over the years has become stale, and Knights 1 has given the franchise a needed boost. My initial reason for liking Star Wars has changed. I didn't like the prequels, but many others did. Knights 1 seemed to remind me about the 1980s movies, and everything that I have loved about the original trilogy. Sure, there are many clich
  15. Having only a few people on the project keeps things organized. I smell the approach of a release. Nope, just my feet. Its only a matter of time now.
  16. One simple question turns into a public relations debate? Someone forgot to mention about how bunnies lay chicken eggs on Easter. J/k I was just curious.
  17. I think this one give me brain freeze: I hope this comes off the list soon. I think this one issue may be of concern to them, or maybe there is a quick and easy fix.
  18. Got another one for you, then: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_.../team-gizka.org Thanks. I wonder what they use to measure the demographics. Maybe the big three servers.
  19. Shifting gears while staying on the subject -- http://www.quantcast.com/team-gizka.org Sometimes I like reading statistical data. Children between the ages of 13-17 are more likely to visit team-gizka's site than any other age group. In the month of May, team-gizka had it's lowest visits for 2008. Rebound visits could be the result of the leak, but I'm only making an assumption. I don't know if there is any truth to what I said. How reliable is Quancast.com? 20,000 visits in feburary is still incredible. Wow!
  20. Why is there no NWN2 forums here at Obsidian? I hope this is not a repeat question.
  21. Squinquargesimus? God bless you. Do you need a tissue? Expanded universe is such a wonderful thing. Soon the real name of Mission Vao is Missiuon Vaolio. Hahaha. My humor suc#$.
