  1. Philosophically it's probably a pointless discussion, you may be living in a society where nothing is considered to be owned, who's to say they're wrong? Legally it's a different question. For example in US you legally have a copy right for 75 years, but after that you arbitrarily lose it (or would, if it wasn't for Mickey Mouse).
  2. You can't make this stuff up : http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/somethings_cracking_and_its_not_the_ice_around_the_warmists_ship/#.UsOUhnAuxZ8.facebook
  3. Just bought Mars: War Logs. Played the demo and thought it was really good.

  5. Shouldn't we be blaming the STG44?
  6. Heh, I forgot about that. Well, financial liability, not so much criminal.
  7. Saw this link on RPS, about trying to get Kingdom Come financed http://www.warhorsestudios.cz/index.php?page=blog&entry=blog_031&lang=en To me it's a great idea, I've wanted a historical RPG forever, although as someone said to them it probably wouldn't do well in America, since no one cares about history. They should start by coming up with a better name though.
  8. I was talking about justice for individuals, I agree with you justice for countries is a bit nonsensical, everyone's done plenty of wrong in the past, the further back you look the worse it gets. Burning churches and slaughtering people, attacking schools and throwing acid into girls' faces, yes, totally the same situation. Yes, Soviet Union would have never invaded Afghanistan, Bin Laden would have never gone to fight there and become a Jihadist, Iraq would have never invaded Kuwait causing US to send troops to Saudi Arabia, causing Bin Laden in turn to declare war on the US. But then I keep forgetting, everything is the fault of the Jews.
  9. @Wals I don't advocate revenge, only the right to self defense and justice. First, Palestine didn't belong to anyone before establishment of Israel, there was no Arab state there for hundreds of years. There was no ethnic cleansing, there was a brutal civil war with Jews fleeing from Arabs and Arabs fleeing from Jews. There was no cleansing afterwards, that's just a lie. Israel isn't just going to pick up and go away, any more than Americans or Australians or the blacks in South Africa for that matter. And so long as it exists, it has the right to self-defense, just like any other nation. Edit: I've posted this before, but it's an interesting article : http://www.historynet.com/lashing-back-israel-1947-1948-civil-war.htm
  10. So does that make the invasion, occupation and ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine moral? What is your point? Yeah, Christians are having an increasingly hard time down in the Middle East right now. After the whole age of colonialism, Cold War meddling and support of unpopular dictators, the recent wars and US enthusiastic support for Israeli war crimes, they are increasingly starting to think that Christians are the source of all evil. You can forgive them a bit for thinking so when you consider it must seem that way from their perspective. If only all Arabs could go to trips to the US, they would learn that American Christians do not sit all day and plot which countries to bomb next and do high-fives when they hear the Israeli army has shot another child. In fact most American Christians are probably 100% oblivious both about which ME dictators the CIA supported during which years, how many civilians have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and about the situation in Israel. So it would be deeply unfair to characterize them as evil in any way. So now you're justifying the persecution of Arab Christians by Arab Muslims by blaming it on Israel and the US? Truly you've sunk to a new low. Check out what they're are doing, since you're so into righteous indignation, it's a thousand times worse than anything Israel does to Palestinians, which is all done in self defense btw.
  11. I would note that a lot of your accusations come from Palestinian sources, not objective sources. Edit: Also I was talking about Arab Israelis having equal rights, you conveniently switched the subject to Palestinians who are not citizens, whether you think they should be citizens is irrelevant. Well. At least you're not stuck in a refugee camp, having lost all your land and possessions because religious fanatics have claimed your country as their holy land and driven you out. Think about it. Things could be worse. You could have been born a Palestinian! They're stuck in refugee camps because their brother Arabs won't lift a finger to help them, so that they can use them as a political issue. As far as being forced off their land, no one forced Arabs to attack Israel as soon as it was founded, if they didn't they'd all still be where they were. And it's not like the Palestinians wouldn't have driven the Jews into the sea if they could, in fact they've always said so.
  12. They should go ahead and build nuclear weapons, we'll see how much China will like that.
  13. My point was that "Messianic Jews" aren't really Jews, and shouldn't call themselves such. It's a minor point, as you said yourself.
  14. I take it as more action and less spreadsheet. Edit: Good to see it's actually a single player game.
  15. It was 10 km from the NK coast, a country that they're technically at war with and with which there had been multiple previous (and subsequent) incidents. If they weren't at heightened alert they should have been, and I'd have difficulty believing they weren't. I'm saying they'd have to be actively looking for the sub, which may be they were. But it being an ambush, the sub might have hidden itself in the reflections from the coast, or some rock. Edit: Btw, not everyone thinks US is declining, and China is winning : http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-ticker/the-myth-of-america-s-decline--152512864.html I think our main problem is the lawless Marxist government the sans-culotte have installed.
  16. The destroyer being ASW would probably only come into play if it was expecting to be attacked.
  17. You mean Zor doesn't know everything after all? The claim of Aegis destroyer sounded strange to me too, but unlike you I'm too lazy to look it up. Diesel submarines are very quiet btw.
  18. Putin often makes a ton of sense. Yet you wouldn't want to live under his rule.
  19. Someone there seems to have a sense of humor. Tremble evildoers! Actually this reminds me of Oddworld : Stranger's Wrath. Edit: Just noticed the link is to a Russian website. Of course they would get their panties in a bunch. Here's an insignia from one of the Navy squadrons. Oh, no, it's a sinister looking werewolf with a bomb and lightning!
  20. I can't make any sense out of this statement. They're supposed to be Christians, not Jews. They don't call themselves Jews. They call themselves Messianic Jews, which means "a Jew who has converted to Christianity". This response perfectly illustrates the lack of logic that your whole post possesses. An African American is still an American, no? I didn't say they were Jews, I said they call themselves Jews, which they obviously do, speaking of tautologies. Their argument is that you can be a Jew (i.e. follow Judaism) and still believe in Jesus as the Messiah. This is technically true, as most Jews believe in the coming of the Messiah and it's not specified who the Messiah is, except his name is supposed to be Joshua I think. There've been many candidates for the Messiah through the ages. Lubavitcher Jews for example believed that their chief Rabbi was the Messiah. But once you start saying that Jesus was God or son of God, then you have theological conflict with Judaism.
  21. It still won't work unless you somehow got 100% buy in, which you won't. Some company somewhere will be presented with an offer that is excessively beneficial for not buying in, and it'd only be bad business to not accept it even if they were encouraged to do something else. Why would it matter what one company does in an economy as big as China's? Which is irrelevant as we aren't talking about a minor spat here. If things are serious enough that the US is seriously damaging China's economy then they would have no expectation that the US would pay back its loans anyway. And it wouldn't just be Chinese bonds being devalued, it would be everyone's. Good luck getting more money out of anyone if you've just proven that you will- effectively- default on your loans wholesale, and if printing money were an economic panacea Zimbabwe and Weimar Germany would be Nirvanas. Recipe for winning bragging rights over a pile of economic ash, that. I was talking about the current situation, where China is acting in an increasingly belligerent and arrogant way toward its neighbors. It's not open warfare yet though. And I was somewhat flippant about printing more money, although with the current government it seems to be a solution for everything. I actually wish others would stop buying our bonds to force us into some financial discipline before it's too late.
  22. It's not so easy. Imagine telling an average American that his next trips to Walmart are going to cost $25 extra because America is taking issue with China's ADIZ. You think Americans are up for this? That they're willing to pay extra $ in everyday life to send a message to China about its ADIZ? Of course not. The bulk of Americans don't even know what an ADIZ is, much less care that China put one up. Economic sanctions are useful when the country is currently providing you jack, but with China, they're the source of income for a huge amount of American companies and of lower prices for the American consumer. Hitting China financially hurts them, but it also hurts us. That's why it doesn't happen over small issues. Just don't tell them, they'll never figure it out on their own, like you said, they don't know anything anyway. And small issues turn into large issues if not nipped in the bud. If they don't keep buying bonds, we'll just print more money instead, making their bonds worthless. Plus they can't stop buying US bonds, that would make the dollar fall against the yuan and make their economic situation even worse. I'm not proposing public action, that would only push them against the wall and make any crisis worse. It needs to be more subtle, like let American companies privately know in no uncertain terms they need to cut back on Chinese investment and start looking elsewhere.
  23. Since we're China's biggest customer, it would be logical to make them suffer financial consequences every time they misbehave.
  24. Here's an interesting article on the subject : http://blogs.the-american-interest.com/wrm/2013/12/02/2013-the-end-of-history-ends/
