  1. Again, President can not declare war or be given authority by Congress to declare war, only Congress can declare war. Geneva conventions are not binding on illegal combatants, don't invent things which aren't there. The court decision you refer to (which I already mentioned) does give them access to appeal to the courts, but not Habeas Corpus or the right to a trial. What you're claiming is that illegal combatants have to be treated better than legal combatants, which is ridiculous.
  2. Illegal enemy combatants are not covered by the Geneva Conventions, at least by none that we've signed. Only legal soldiers of another state that also signed the Geneva Conventions would be covered. Look it up. And Geneva conventions actually do allow you to hold enemy prisoners for as long as the war continues, so you're actually arguing against your own point, although I'm not sure what your point is. In fact you're wrong, we're not legally in a state of war, only Congress can declare war and it hasn't done so.
  3. They captured them on the battlefield. I also trust the government to actually shoot the people that are shooting at them. The courts ordered that there has to be a review and appeals process in case someone is unjustly held btw.
  4. Beats them going back to kill some more Americans, doesn't it?
  5. Here's an interesting article about Cruz: https://www.yahoo.com/politics/ted-cruz-has-been-plotting-1305876417003574.html The part about his private practice is nonsense though, a lawyer has to be able to represent any client that wants to hire him.
  6. Europeans just need to stop being such bleeding-heart pussies.
  7. lol, do you think I'm talking about illegal aliens? They're illegal because they were not fighting for a recognized state, but instead for terrorist organizations. That's not how laws work, it doesn't matter what you want. They're not held for punishment, they're held because they're likely to take up arms against US if released, just like any prisoner of war.
  8. Habeas Corpus doesn't apply to enemy combatants, especially illegal ones. You may be aware that German prisoners of war were held for the duration of the war without any trial. The opposing party did not block trials for the Gitmo detainees. Obola started out by tearing down the legal structure which was set up by Bush and Congress for such trials, then his gang of incompetent loonies couldn't come up with anything that would be legal.

  10. I looked at it and the graphics, which may be intentionally retro, made me not get it at first. Then Vince at Iron Tower said it's a work of genius, so I bought it, and once you get into it the graphics stop being an issue, you become absorbed in the usual RPG concerns, like making it through the next assignment without having your ass handed to you.
  11. He stopped telling the truth since he started running for office, which is to be expected as you've observed. He's never changed his own label or said he changed his philosophy in any way so far as I know. I tend to take him at his word, being a radical from young age, having studied Marx and idolized Eugene V Debs he would know what socialism actually is, so if he says he's a socialist, he is a socialist. As far as Social Democrat, from what I read there are two types, ones who believe in regulated and redistributive capitalism and ones who see that stage as a way point to true socialism. I can believe Sanders is the second type, but not the first.
  12. He also supports private businesses, which isn't very anti-capitalist. If you can find where he has come out in favor of worker control of production, I'll even give you co-ops for this, then you'll find a statement of him supporting socialism. It's a little hard to find his past statements, since the search results are dominated by his current lies, but I did find a few things: "From the 1988 dissertation of Steven Soifer, a professor of social work at the University of Memphis, who wrote about Sanders’ time as mayor of Burlington: “What being a socialist means is … that you hold out … a vision of society where poverty is absolutely unnecessary, where international relations are not based on greed … but on cooperation … where human beings can own the means of production and work together rather than having to work as semi-slaves to other people who can hire and fire.” Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/07/14-things-bernie-sanders-has-said-about-socialism-120265#ixzz3sC4V2mPG "He joined the Young People's Socialist League ("Yipsel"), an organization that advocated the "social ownership and democratic control of the means of production and distribution" but was explicitly anti-communist." ""I once asked him what he meant by calling himself a 'socialist,' and he referred to an article that was already a touchstone of mine, which was Albert Einstein's 'Why Socialism?'" says Sanders' friend Jim Rader. "I think that Bernie's basic idea of socialism was just about as simple as Einstein's formulation." (In short, according to Einstein, capitalism is a soul-sucking construct that corrodes society.)" http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2015/07/bernie-sanders-president-change-politics Hmm, I didn't know Einstein was a socialist, I guess you can be smart and insane. "To wit: Sanders described himself as “clearly anti-capitalistic” in a 1976 interview with the Cynic, UVM's weekly student newspaper. “Contrast what the young people in China and Cuba are doing for themselves and for their country as compared to the young people in America,” he said. “It’s quite obvious why kids are going to turn to drugs to get the hell out of a disgusting system or sit in front of a TV set for 60 hours a week.” https://newrepublic.com/article/122309/bernie-sanders-archive-bustling-mysterious-young-men He's also said many times his idol is Eugene V Debs, and that's as real socialist as you can get. North Korea says they're a democratic republic, do you take them at their word? Obama says he's pro-freedom, do you take him at his word? Based upon his proposals Bernie Sanders is a Social Democrat, he critiques capitalism from a socialist viewpoint, but does not put forward an alternative to capitalism instead advocating reforms. So at least we both agree he's a liar.
  13. Playing Underrail, which is in early access. So far it's quite absorbing. I think anyone who liked the first Fallout would enjoy it. I got stuck in one place but there's a walkthrough. I'm still not sure how far I'll be able to make it, it's somewhat unforgiving. Also stealth seems to be a requirement, I don't see how you'd do a certain level without it.
  14. Well, he said he's against capitalism, so again you refuse to take him at his word. And I meant any alternatives he could believe in, not all possible post-Fallout alternatives.
  15. Some interpreted his comments that way, and admittedly he's not careful about his language. But he meant some of the illegal aliens, not all Mexicans. And what's wrong with a fence when people keep breaking your laws? Europeans are building border fences just as quick as they can right now. Edit: Here's CNN caught editing what Trump said : http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/11/21/cancel-the-debate-cnn-caught-selectively-editing-trumps-muslim-comments/
  16. http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2015/11/21/whatever-the-heck-bernie-sanders-is-talking-about-its-not-socialism/ The senile old man is confused, or more likely lying. He says he's against capitalism, so he has to be a Socialist, what else is there? Mutalism, Primitivism, Feudalism, Technocracy. I mean besides sci-fi and ancient past. Feudalism, really?

  18. That's a media set up if there ever was one. Trump never actually said he's in favor of a database for all Muslims, it's the media which keeps bringing the idea up. They're claiming he endorsed it when he was actually talking about his border security ideas, not the database. The NBC video makes it quite clear. WOD you seem to be blaming the media for the general view that Trump has offended many groups in the USA ? Unfortunately whether the media reports of his questionable comments are true or not its still going to cost him dearly in the election. Which is why you don't want him as the Republican presidential candidate No, I'm blaming the media for clearly setting him up in this specific case. They also reported that Carson called the refugees rabid dogs, when in the actual quote it's obvious he was referring to IS. But it's nothing new for the media to be an arm of the Democrat party. The rest of Republican candidates are useless corporate tools.

  20. No doubt you told them that the attack was carried out by violent right wing extremists.
  21. Richest country in the world, 20% of children in poverty, only just above Romania. [source] Bravo America. Nope. This statistic does not measure the number of children in poverty. It's a measure of how some households are even richer than others, thus raising the median: "relative poverty line, which UNICEF defines as living in a household that earns less than half of the national median" If your quarrel is with inequality itself, then make that argument. Stop making misleading claims about poverty to try and bolster your case. Exactly, there's a world of difference between Romanian poverty and American poverty. Besides, we can never wipe out poverty because we keep importing the poor, because according to some, and you know who you are, we just can't do without the cheap third world labor.
  22. Pretty disturbing, considering the Democrats have made it clear they no longer believe in rule of law.
  23. They were showing some interviews with Muslims in that quarter in Brussels that the government is afraid to go into, and they thought the Paris attack was great. I don't know what you do with a fifth column like that in your midst.
  24. Although only 7-8% of France's population are Muslims, up to 70% of prison population is Muslim : http://www.nybooks.com/blogs/nyrblog/2015/nov/16/paris-attacks-isis-strategy-chaos/ Turkey soccer fans boo a minute of silence for Paris victims, chant "Allahu Akbar" : http://blog.sfgate.com/soccer/2015/11/17/turkey-soccer-fans-boo-minute-of-silence-for-paris-attacks/ Yay, multiculturalism!
  25. By your logic if you ever fail to prosecute a crime for any reason you can never prosecute that crime again. But Petraeus was prosecuted for something very similar to what Hillary did. I don't know anything about Cheney's e-mails, did he send classified info through an unsecure server? Was that ever investigated? As far as what Tenet claims about his warnings, he wanted to launch a pre-emptive war! You can see how difficult that would be for a politician when the whole country has been lulled into complacency (which Trump warned against btw). It's not like airports didn't have security, it's just that the security turned out to be totally inadequate, and it still is to this day!
