  1. Taiwan is not a threat to China, it's the other way around.
  2. No, actually I full support Native Title, and you just made one of your more idiotic post just then with that pathetic attempt at analogy. The issues of Kosovo or Taiwan's independence are not related to Native Title. At all. Edit: And indeed, it is ironic that you should bring it up, because I would be surprised to see China enact anything near as progressive as Native Title for its indigenous populations. C.f. Uyghurs, Tibetans. All I see is oppression and population displacement/replacement, and China doesn't have the excuse of history. Isn't that kind of weasel phrasing? Would you support the aborigines kicking the Australians out of Perth?
  3. I'm guessing you think Perth belongs to Australia and not to the Aborigines.
  4. The issue is we consume more than we produce, because we buy goods from China and then borrow our own money back from them to buy more stuff. Also buying up our bonds is what enables China to keep their currency artificially low, which in turn makes it more attractive to us to buy Chinese products instead of domestic ones. As far as the President signing laws, of course he's just as responsible for the law as any Congressman that votes for it, since he can always veto any law he disagrees with, in a sense he has a super vote.
  5. If you go under Patron in the store, they have donation cards and if you buy those, almost all the money goes to ITS.
  6. You heard of the Great Depression? With the endorsement of the Clinton administration, and Clinton signed it into law. So, if a bill is passed and a president signs it he automatically is a supporter of said bill. Are you saying he's not?
  7. New version of the demo available: http://www.irontowerstudio.com/forum/index...pic,1259.0.html Supposed to be a lot harder.
  8. With the endorsement of the Clinton administration, and Clinton signed it into law. The problem with the US banking industry is not that it's not heavily regulated, because it is. The problem is the regulators didn't do their job. But the roots of the financial crisis are far wider than just problems with the banking system, it really has to do with us trying to borrow our way to prosperity by buying Chinese goods with the money we borrow back from the Chinese. Relatedly it was the easy money policy of the Fed and a host of other factors.
  9. Actually US recognizes Taiwan is a part of China, it just insists that reunification takes place peacefully and preserves the Taiwanese democracy, sort of like Hong Kong.
  10. Got Arcanum and installed the mods, thanks for the links guys.
  11. Yes, bankers caused it all by themselves. Always good to find a scape goat to throw stones at. Btw, I read the TARP is only going to wind up costing $25 billion or so, as most of the money has been paid back.
  12. Someone said there's a way to scan quickly until you get a blip, then you search slowly in that location, but he was on the 360.
  13. Too lazy to look at the videos, is it first person or third?
  14. It's not unusual for all the candidates to look like midgets before the campaign. Once they go through that, someone always emerges who looks like a credible candidate, at least to half of the population.
  15. So you are calling the President a punk, and complaining about anti-Americanism in other threads? He is the President of the United States. You can disagree with his policies while still being respectful of the office and our country. How about he shows some respect for the Supreme Court first? He's the head of one of the co-equal branches of government, I'm not.
  16. Why do you keep pretending that her quote doesn't include this: "The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse-tung and Mother Theresa -- not often coupled with each other, but the two people I turn to most..." the meaning should be perfectly clear whatever other historical references she made. Btw, she never explained (at least in your quote) what was so great about Mother Theresa that made her turn to her most, just Mao. Edit: She could've just made her point about Mao without saying he was one of her favorite philosophers, or turning to him most, or juxtaposing him with Mother Theresa. And yes, you could rationalize that may be she didn't mean it the way it sounds, and so on, but it was still a really dumb thing to say. Especially coming from someone in a high government position who tries to discredit a news organization that's critical of her political goals.
  17. If you visited one, you've visited them all. If I could murder Joker (after breaking his brittle legs first of course), I'd buy ME2 just for that.
  18. Obviously Beck doesn't believe Jefferson is guilty of any genocide, so your argument doesn't hold water.
  19. So really your argument comes down to "Jefferson was as bad as Mao", and has nothing to do with whether and to what degree Dunn admires Mao.
  20. Iron Warriors, also known as Balkans on Fire. My T-34 keeps getting killed by a Super Sherman, aargh. I managed to kill him once, but not before he shot off my tracks, so I still couldn't finish the mission. A really fun tank sim, and relatively easy to get into, also very cheap on Steam. Though I was crashing when I set it to higher resolution, so not sure about stability.
  21. It's not a witch hunt. She was thrown under the bus by Obama, but it wasn't just for one dumb quote. She constantly said and did dumb things as the director of communications, the worst being starting a war with Fox News (before that quote was found), which only made it look like Obama was trying to suppress dissent and boosted Fox News tremendously.
