  1. As for rogue it's not that easy to take 50%hp with one hit and requires backstab and deathblows in most cases, so attacks from stealth are welcome. Stabbing someone in the back couts as guile deed, i think
  2. Yes, on kill effects are useless against one big enemy, but you have full resources pool to spend on him. As for group od weaker foes it's not unneccessary, becouse it works like kind of revard for playing more agressively. You can be more lavish on spending resources and not "save them for better times". I like cooperation with animal companion idea, so maybe adding another condition is a way: chance to regain bond when killing enemy with crit if he is threatened by animal companion
  3. Dwarf is for negate adrenaline rush weaken. With barb ability it should reduce con afflictions by 2 tiers
  4. Chance to regain bond when killing enemy with critical hit (not friendly summon or ally) Chance to regain guile when killing enemy that is hurt or better (with single blow)
  5. Yes, grave calling is much better. It also fits the theme of "iceberg warrior" Rymrgand eq works, unfortunately, only while afflicted not with any negative effect. Profits are not gamebreaking (20% graze-to-miss, +5 defences, +2 mig/con/dex and 1hp/6sec) so it would be more flexible and easy to achive.
  6. Berserker/beckoner, mountain dwarf. Rymrgand eq profits when you're afflicted and with bers Frenzy you are all the time. Carnage kills your summoned skeletons which triggers blood thirst. If you score crit, frostfall upgrade launch aoe, killing more skeletons for more blood thirst. It's just untested idea
  7. Tactican resources refund works only when you interupt casting ability or spell. For brilliant tactican you need all enemies flanked, so fantom foes or chill fog is the simplest way. You can also use voulge bounded to barb, to apply desoriented on aoe, or knock down ability with WotEP. Modwyr switching is good way to block confusion. You can set AI to do it for you. Alternative is to use devil breastplate or captains banquett. When brilliant tactican triggers, is it overrides confusion? Or gets reduced to lower tier?
  8. Devoted with morningstar is solid choice. Tactican - when you have cipher in party, but you must be aware, to not get flanked or use flank prevent equipment (kapana taga, gipon prudensco) I prefer black jacket. Fun to play when you debuff group with morningstar+clear out, then switch to Red hand to interrupt caster, switch again to lord darryn voulge for few hits and finally kill near dead enemies with oathbreaker+barbaric smash
  9. Every sword, sabre, dagger, stiletto and rapier benefit from fair favour. Use this, what you like and what you got at the moment. Posted builds are just sugestions, ideas of what some people do. You can change equipment, stats, and abilities so they suit your style better. Another idea that should be solid is heavens cacophony with sun and moon. Avenging storm with many hits from two heads of this flail chained by swift flurry
  10. Modwyr for damage, ball and chain for constant knock down one foe or sun and moon, which works nice with flurry
  11. With so low defences and con you die quickly anyway. The trick is to engage mele enemies with bear and team tank, kill ranged as fast as you can, and keep casters interupted, so you don't take any damage at all. Interupting is easy as a pie with this build, when you have speed, range, acc and efficent anguish. Nalpazca is only for wounds generation, but shattered pillar would be better if no 5 wounds limit, since it uses auto attacks a lot. @Boeroer The biggest problem with stunning surge is that there's not enough ability points. You must choose between surge, take down and tranquiliser
  12. Hand mortar doesn't work, that was my first idea to stack Hunters claw. SF/HBD doesn't work also, they're separator skills. That's why i picked WotEP, but aoe won't work with instruments od pain. The cone is sticked to character anyway, do you have to be in close range. With F-fist there is not enough stat points to pump resolve
  13. Stunning surge is not necessery. Weak enemies dies quickly, and tougher ones not always get crits. With 1.4 recovery you burn resources fast, with not so big difference in dps. Stun is also not much difference when they are dazed and knocked down by gatecrushers or rust poignard from alternative weapon set. But feel free to propose other ability distribution
  14. You don't want to get any damage. Enduring dance without other source of wounds may be not enough to keep on instruments of pain and thunderous blows (which i forgot to note ). Alternative is to pick hellwalker and switch clarity of agony for mortification of the soul
  15. Music support - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmJzLipDbIA Sword'n'Bear Difficulty: PotD v. 5.0 Solo: i don't think so, but you may try to abuse Dire Talon Class: Nalpazca/Stalker Race: any is good. I choose wood elf for +1 per/dex and affliction resistance Background: Deadfire Archipelago/The White that Wends - Laborer (if going to use Contender's Armor) Stats: dumped con and res, maxed mig/dex/per, rest int Equipment: Head: Fair Favour Back: The Giftbearer's Cloth Neck: Claim and Refusal/Cog of Cohh Armor: Devil of Caroc Breastplate/Miscerant's Leather/Contender's Armor Waist: The Undying Burden (when using Contender's Armor)/Sash of Judgement Hands: Gatecrushers/Boltcatchers/Corroded Vambracers/Burglar's Gloves Rings: Chameleon's Touch and Ring of Prosperity's Fortune Boots: Pathfinder's Boots Pet: Abraham (and nalvi on eder if possible) Weapon set 1: Scordeo's Edge (for Adaptive upgrade) and Griffin's Blade (very important because of Howling Blade effect - it helpes to keep enemies dazed in AoE all the time and underpen the bear) Weapon set 2: WotEP (helpes a lot to stack Hunters Fang - when hit multiple enemies, gives several charges) Weapon set 3: can be selected when Adaptive stack is full, but Griffin's Blade is a must. Interesting weapons: Rust's Poignard, Modwyr, Aldris Blade of Captain Crow, Dire Talon (my favourite - huge acc of this build and constant crits chained with SF/HBD can spawn a lot of wurms. There is no limit in quantity. Food: Mohora Wraps Drug: Mouth Char Abilities: Efficent Anguish - pushing back enemies that get to close and interrupting casters (on graze) Swift Flurry, Heartbeat Drumming - obvious Enduring Dance - keep on all the time, push enemies that draw near Turning Wheel - fire lash and increased effect duration (dazed from griffin's blade, adaptive, swift flurry) Instruments of Pain - must have, lets you chop chop from safe place behind your bears back Clarity of Agony - not necessary, but sometimes useful Two Weapon Style - obvious Enervating Blows - weaken enemies constantly Improved Critical - you can skip this if you prefer Concussive Tranquiliser Marked for the Hunt - more acc Hunter's Fang - More Acc! Stalkers Link - MORE ACC ! ! ! Survival of the Fittest - guess what Resilent Companion and Hardy Companion - with Stalker subclass and bear bonus it gives total 16 ar (remember that enemies are dazed constantly) One ability point left on PL 7. You can change improved critical for concussive tranquiliser or takedown combo In quick summary, you get very quick striker with more than 180 acc (hunters fang, marked for the hunt, stalkers link, survival of the fittest, adaptive, enduring dance, legendary weapon, high per). That gives very high chance to crit, and spam SF/HBD triggering on crit effects. Fragility of this build get supressed by a decent tank included (mostly because all enemies in aoe are dazed constantly).
  16. I think brilliant triggering effect simillar to blood sacrifice 1/6sec is the best and the simplest way for casters. You can use it with sot few times if you are lucky, but not abuse it forever. One time fixed resources gain can be overpowered with tactican/caster. Flank enemies, then let them flank you, then spam weapon switch for kapana taga/something, to get brilliant->flanked->brilliant->flanked chain. I'm not sure if ascended cipher with time parasite can reaply brilliant to refresh resources gain if target is inspired, but that would be bad thing.
  17. Better stay bloodied by not taking damage, or healing yourself. That's why you use all this ar and deflection buffs.
  18. Yes, my mistake. @PsyCoil Why elf? You want to be bloodied most of the time, so human would be better. Resolve is a stat that should be maxed or dumped, no half-measure. Con would be fine at 10 points total, i think, and i would rise might. As for grimoires, i'd choose martial masteries, concelhaut and the one with draconic fury. Wall of draining and lance pick when leveling up, so you can cast it with any grimoire active.
  19. AI is helpful in trash fights that are not challenging anyway, to end them fast and sometimes with tougher ones, mostly for keeping buffs on all the time. Biggest weakness of AI is that it can't regroup characters, summon creatures in right place to flank enemies and aim with aoe spells precisly (always centre on enemy, not on the ground even if spell allows that). Despite that, setting AI is part of character building and is fun too
  20. When bloodied, all the deflection and ar buff can be extended by wall of draining. Spiritshield, ironskin and lengrath safeguard ar won't stack. Mirrored image and arcane veil stacks for massive deflection improvement. It's good combo with citzal lance and aoe riposte. When using lance, combusting wounds and scroll of avenging storm are your beat friends. Alacrity speed buff won't stack with captain banquett, so it's better to use with pl1 fleet feet, and avoid self damage. Bloody links is nice armor for streetfighter. Available early and gives atk speed or ar, when bloodied. When health is too low, you can use concelhaut siphon, and when to high - blood sacrifice. You get flanked by jumping in the middle od enemies. With increased deflection risk is bearable.
  21. Try Improved AI mod. I use the same mechanics with frenzy confusion and modwyr on my berserker/black jacket, but with 4 weapon sets (depends on health, number of enemies and some other things) and it works fine. It's very important to set every condition in right sequence. It should look like this: 1. Self healing stuff 2. If frenzy is off > modwyr set 3. Buffs 4. If frenzy is off > Frenzy 5. If frenzy is on > standard set 6. Then you can add more conditions to another weapon sets, but every one must be "if frenzy on" 7. Offensive abilities If you don't want to use mods, try to change standard set condition to "always", and place it below "if int affliction > modwyr" and frenzy. I tried to make AI switch to oathbreaker if enemy is near death (target: hp below 25%) and use barbaric blow, then back to darryn's voulge, but it didn't work. Changing weapon sets must be, dependent on effects that character has, not enemies.
  22. Blackened Plate Helm +1 Kapana Taga +1, +2 with Champion's Relic upgrade (+3% melee dmg per engagment) or Last Word with Thretening upgrade +1 (+5% weapon dmg per engagment) Reckless Brigandine +1 (also gives +5% atk speed per engagment) You can consider Entonia Signet. It scales with enemies that engaging you, not your own engagments, but if you want to be surrouded anyway, it shoud work well.
