This thread is painfully unfunny and doomed to fail.

can we like vote not to let jorian post anything anymore?

I could say the same about the new batch of "punk" rockers. All genres get commercial after a while. And i wouldnt call myself an ignorant lowlife, just because i recognize a good beat when i hear it
-
Maybe you should critisize the listeners rather than the artists then. You're judging the music by the people who listen to it, which is ignorant and stupid. Besides, it's not like rock music is squeky clean, look at Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Patti Smith, Keith Moon, the list is endless. That's just an excuse and you know it.

I do agree. The way modern rap artists go on it's almost sad how they have completely sold out their heritage. "Don't try to educate yourself, don't try to be aware of what's around you, don't escape the ghetto. Take your money and spend it on stuff that evaporates. Live as a criminal so you can prey on your brothers and get arrested. Get chewed up and brutalised at home and in jail." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And still they are rich, often educated and have careers outside music. Rap is all about adapting a persona, like say 50 Cent has done. 50 Cent and Curtis Jackson are not the same. In many ways rap is for intelligent people who can see past this and enjoy the lyrics as a modern form of pulp fiction.

Oh no.. You didn't just go there.. Putting rap and country together in the same sentence?! That should be against the law.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...hmm, this could be interesting, any samples of a rap-country anyone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, in fact De La Soul have sampled Johnny Cash... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> plz a link maybe, any sample? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I doubt you could find the song for free online.

You obviously haven't read Transmetropolitan, Lucifer, or Preacher, otherwise you'd be reccomending them too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is true. Havent read them that is. Then again i'm not the biggest comic nerd.

Yeah they're on Ipecac, seems like everything mike patton touches turns to gold. He's my fav guy on the whole industry. Talking about Ipecac, check out Messer Chups, they're this weird russian idm/rock band. Very weird stuff, in a good way.

Just finished Kafka on the Shore by Murakami, and i think i'm gonna read more of his books.

Only comic i can really recommend is The Invisibles.

Actually, Hate It Or Love It was one of the best songs of 2005. And i'm no rap enthutiast, i generally listen to other stuff. Listen to it, it's just soooo smooth...

My god! I have finally found another Sage and Buck 65 liker on the internets! Seriously, this is the kind of rap that I was saying in the other thread that actually has real meaning and poetry, and it is in no way like Eminem, or any other commercial rap out at the moment. I would definately recommend these two, and also Aesop Rock for a little more abstract poetry that he uses in his songs. I would also recommend a lot of things from this site although some of it there is slightly disturbing Also, I'd like to point out that both Sage Francis and Buck65 mix elements of rock into their music as well, which gives a nice touch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not the biggest anticon fan, but i can see why people love their stuff so much. Buck 65 i do love though, despite he being an ass. I can't belive i forgot to mention Dizzee Rascal on my previous post, Boy in da Corner is the best debut rap album since Enter the Wu-Tang. Also D

I just read the rap thread thepixiesrock made, and i was shocked to see that almost no one here knows any good rap. New stuff like MF Doom, Buck 65, Sage Francis, Cage, A-Rock, Shadow Huntaz, Tha Blue Herb...Not to mention the old classics like Boogie Down Productions, Eric B & Rakim, N.W.A., Public Enemy, Snoop (only doggystyle though), De La Soul....It's def music, and it can be as complex, beautiful and emotional as any other genre. I'm more into rock music than rap, but still i can appreciate the good stuff and ignore the bad, like i do in every other genre. Don't be ignorant and judge stuff before actually finding out about it. Post your favourites here, be them old or new. Also reasons why you dont like rap are welcome, as long as they are constructive and you know what you're talking about.

Good stuff....i'm eagerly awaiting for this game. May this be the game the original one was promised to be.

An RPG, or cRPG is just what the acronym means; a Role Playing Game, be the role pre-defined or user made. What you people are arguing about are your own preferences in CRPGs, but despite how much you dislike Diablo it's still an RPG. And so is every JRPG. Adventure Games could be RPG's, but the designers in the 80s decided to call them adventure games instead. End of discussion.

Well for me it's more like w, w, w, a, d, a, d, s, s, s. And yes, it's the best game of the 00's. Easily.
-
At least it's not pretentious. Discuss.

so it's not a bug? lol, i've been trying to find a fix/cheat for two days. i'll go see if it works

on the life's a beach mission from og loc, when i go to the beach and talk to the DJ the dance sequence doesnt start. nothing happens, the dialog just ends and CJ just stands there. is there a mission completion cheat/mod anyone knows of? i've tried google but no luck so far. is this a common bug, or is it just my bad luck? pc version of course.

It was the freemasons...No wait, better yet it was the vampires! Bloodlines violated the camarilla! Yeah, that's it...
-
Well, now that i actually got to the first real area of the game, i'll have to say i'm a bit dissapointed. The dialog is clumsy, i don't know if they had a bad translator or a bad writer. No real choice in responses this far, other than accept quest or don't accept. Oh and your guy is always a mean russian dude, you can't play anyway else. The combat (as people have said before) takes forever, and feels like a chore. It's been really easy this far though, i've just been sneaking around and shooting people from the back. Never played SS for longer than 15 minutes, so i'm not that familiar with the engine. The camera is weird, i wish you could zoom closer. And i havent figured out how to put stuff inside lockers etc, if it's possible at all. Overall i'm not as excited as i was when i started, but i'm expecting this to be a good game. Remains to be seen. edit: grammar and typos

I'm very impressed. I just started, did the tutorial and i'm on the first "mission", if you can call cutting a fence and running for it a mission. So far the feel of this game is top notch, i really feel like i'm an agent going to the enemys side. I'm only 5 minutes into the game though, so i guess everything can change. So far, so good. Are there really no non-combat stats in this game though?

KOTOR, some FEAR and i have a bloodlines game waiting...gonna start hammer and sickle tomorrow. And i'm planning on starting a new Fallout game in the near future. Then go maybe to replaying the baldurs gates. Who knows.

Yeah, that sounds nice. If NWN2 will live up to the hype. I found the nwn1 persistant worlds pretty boring, it was all hack and slash with badly written dialog. At least the ones i went to.
