  1. Well you could press Ctrl-Z for Undo. Lawl. That's at least standard in most applications. Maybe what you mean is a History for Undo? Listen Obsidian! That's the next feature you have to implement! As for the view: Hard to tell since I don't have it yet. But most 3D editors use a Side-Top-Front-Perspective view. With that, you certainly should be able to have some glimpse of the map.
  2. You mean like the "nwn2toolsethelp.html" file that is in the documentation folder in your NWN2 directory? It's basically a manual I guess. Text and pictures. Not sure if that was what you're referring to, but it's something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't own NWN2 yet, so I had no clue what content the manual has. I do have some art skills, so creating terrain, normal maps and art assets (if Maya is supported?) should be no problem. I'm more inclined to know how the scripting stuff works. On which language is it based? Does it lend more towards Java/C++, or is it simplified?
  3. I always thought the NWN2 toolset would come with some sort of a tutorial system anyway. That's what Ferg said....2 years ago. BETRAYER! Eh no, seriously. Why not setting up a developer Wiki, a'la Source? A script-based system a'la ZBrush would also rock.
  4. Well with that low price, you can't do much wrong. Go Lyranor buy it, and you may get hired by Bioware!
  5. Action Adventures huh? Psyhonauts (incredibly funny and the best writing I've seen for a very long time, though some silly jump-puzzles may make you grumpy) Beyond Good & Evil (Jade and the talking pig ftw!) Tomb Raider Legend (best animated ass of all times!!!!) Call of Cthulhu (silly leveldesign, everything else is awesome)
  6. If he makes some shiny modules, it's just a question of time when he get's hired from Bioware as a Senior Lead Designer. HAHA!
  7. Graphics sells, Period.
  8. Nonsense. DA doesn't use the Eclipse-Engine, the EE is still in development by Bio's TAG, and will be used for future games. That excludes DA (DA engine) and ME (UE3) though. Maybe they're gonna use it in JE2, making it a more kinetic experience thanks to PhysX. And that's just one thing you could do with a PPU. Dynamics (Hair. No not the ugly Polygon clusters - real Hair; volumetric clouds; Fluids; Real-Time deformations etc. can also enhance the look) can also be calculated via PPUs. GO BIO GO!
  9. Because writing dialogue for games and for books are different. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I tend to agree. Just hiring a professional writer from whatever industry, throwing him into a room and then say "Go, write story!" just ain't working today. Writing for video games also means embedding yourself into the design and art team in order to revise and improve your dialogs faster. But well, in general, it's not just romances that are still stuck in geeky-time, just feeling awkward and all. Stories for fantasy/SciFiction in video games generally still tend to be too much based on mythology, you know, turning Russians into Klingons and add some Drama, based on some silly War from Real Life . Etc Etc. You know how flat Star Trek or Star Wars feels. At least to me.
  10. From the www.steampowered.com support: "I am receiving the "Your purchase is still being processed - Steam will notify you when the transaction has been completed. Until then, this game is not available to play." error when attempting to play a game I just purchased - what should I do?"
  11. Well I'm not an expert in ancient or medieval cultures, but the screenshot definitively reminds a bit of Celtic influence. Also look at the strange posture of the doggie: He tries to vomit, so this must be derived from some Scandinavian culture. And the crossed bars at the houses look very Bavarian like. Overally, I like it a lot more than the typical FR girlish look, or even worse, fatfaces and shiny soil from Oblivion.
  12. I once tried out the WoW 14-day trial. The gameplay was banal, the look girlish, so I quit. So much for teh bEstest MMORPG of all times. Pfft.
  13. This must be a joke! Of course it must. Hihi hohoh haha......
  14. Well I can live with non-spectacular graphics, but the ME conversation style worries me a little bit.
  15. Yeah, the biggest Bio fanboy missed the opportunity to show his fanboyism! (again). HAHA! Good to know the thread got started by the second biggest Bio fanboy at least...
  16. Ehh... I hope this doesn't mean we get to choose "Yes", "No", "Maybe" lines.
  17. Maybe it's a special feat you can get?
  18. Click here! No here! There's also a first screenshot, which doesn't look too impressive. But whatever.
  19. I'd love to hear how long the first episode actually is. Some people claim it's only 2-3 hours long....well in that case I'll certainly wait for the complete season then. Btw, has anybody here played the Bone games? Are they any good?
  20. Oh well, now it's finally out. I'll hold back my copy for a nice free Christmas holiday week though. I'm not in a rush after all, still have DM and some old dinosaur adventures to play. Good to see the release is relatively bugfree though.
  21. There's already a demo available, and it's totally hilarious! I'm definitely getting it when all episodes are available.
  22. Well, I built my character around ordinary melee, and added the basic sneak, bow and magic abilities. With the first level of sneaking, I've so far never failed to sneak up on an enemy and kicking him off a cliff. Or into a spike bed. Or into the next trap. Not that it matters, because you can just run up to him and insta-kill him by kicking him even if he spots you! Sure, it is possible (and even fun) to experiment with the combat system for a while. But you are on the boat (which, by the way, was one of the dumbest moments in the game, when you were supposed to "defend" the plank leading up to the ship and the enemies came.. one by one.. waiting to be kicked off into the water), which is early in the game. Maybe you've just not gotten bored with it yet? How do you know that, by Chapter 9+, you won't feel the same way as me? Hm, I just love the different ways how you can kill enemies. Throwing barrels at them, then run away to lure them into another room while they curse and limp after me is more exciting than just shoot them with a shotgun into the head. Some people think clicking 10 buttons on the interface is what makes combat exciting, but I rather prefer messing arround with the enemies myself without killing them immediately. The game is just build that way to let you improvise.
  23. That's fine. I enjoy good stories too. But at the same time, I also enjoy games that offer me simulation and improvisational gameplay (read: That's what for example HALO is not!) rather than story. If implemented well, they suck me into the world and entertain me as good as Planecape Torment sucked me with it's story into the world. Story is after all just another tool to keep me entertained.
  24. Wrong. But we all know your attitude towards gaming, Hades. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Correct. Simple jumping and kicking and blah blah blah is pretty boring. One of the reasons why I don't bother with normal FPS games. Absolutely detested Halo. If a game doesn't have an engaging story it just doesn't grab my attention enough to play it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I detested HALO too. Because there's no joy and reward in shooting, running, shooting. DM though is more than that. Story is just one aspect that keeps the player motivated. DM though keeps me motivated through it's innovative gameplay. People also love to play football, poker and what not. MMO don't have stories as well, still millions of people play it.
