  1. Gothic 3 Patch #2 has been released! C'mon Piranha! 98 more patches and I promise I'm gonna buy your game!
  2. That's fine. Although I've never played the old Sam&Max, it looks totally sweet. If the humor and style is from the caliber of Grim Fandango, I'm sold.
  3. Sorry, I've played the demo and stealth totally sucked there. There was no sense of observation and exploration which I love so much in Thief/Shock/Deus Ex like games, but it just didn't worked in DM. Maybe it's just the demo, but there's no doubt DM is designed to engage enemies through forceful and brutal combat only.
  4. It's still disappointing, because the only way to express yourself is through combat. While I'm sure people have ton's of fun with that, it's something that usually bores me pretty quickly - as any straight forward FPS. Deus Ex had at least stealth, some dialogs and other enhancements that gave it more versatility. I guess I just expected something like Thief, but what was I thinking about? Doesn't matter. There's still NWN2.
  5. How many episodes are planned? And how long will it approximately take to have them all released? I'm interested in buyingthe full retail package when available. Hopefully an Episode there doesn't take as long as a HL2 Episode.
  6. One of a few games I'm really really looking forward to! Even for a console port, Bio seems to put a lot of energy into it to make the transition decent, which is for todays standards rather an exception than the norm.
  7. "In the future we will not to over strain ourselves with a big world like this again." They just have figured that out now? Even Bioware which has development staff of 50-100 people per project knows it's smarter to release 30-50 hour games and get it right instead of releasing a 200 hour game and mess everything up that you just could possibly mess up. Sorry Piranha, first plan, then develop.
  8. Gamspot rates DM 6.7/10 Haha, it's exactly what I thought: A decently done fantasy FPS with too many bugs, no more, no less. Nothing outstanding there, except the brutal melee combat. I think I'll pass. C'mon people? Where are the games with great stories and such?
  9. Sounds more like a linear slaughter-FPS set in a Tolkien-like universe. Meh. I hoped stealth and exploration a'la Thief would be a major part, but since playing the demo I knew the gameplay lends more toward fast action instead of "intelligent" action. I'm not overly hyped on that game right, so I think I'll save that for the bargain bin.
  10. Looks like a Pirates! clone. Not interested.
  11. Haha, nice try. Sorry, as much as I love Piranha, they've to start moving with the times. That also means they should have some management and QA. Old school was okey like 5 years ago, but software development is now more complex, and Piranha just has to realize that. No money from me!
  12. Yeah, it's always better to release a buggy game and then patch the hell out it so that it seems like a virtue of supporting it instead of shipping a finished product. Jowood and other Middle/Eastern-European publishers should be ashamed of releasing games in such a catastrophical state. Bugs here and there are always present in any release, but Gothic 3 is a catastrophy on it's own (like The Fall). But as long as there're morons who buy it on day 1, those suckers won't get out of business.
  13. The Sega project is 100% Obsidians IP, and PNJ is no Bio-handmedown project. So what's now left for the NWN2 team? Addons? Kotor3? I say it's time for a BG3!!!!
  14. Oh no! As a PC only gamer, I'm deeply confused, because Bio gave me just another reason not to convert to a Xbox 360 player. That means upgrading my PC for ME will cost me more than buying a Xbox 360! No, just kidding. Good news, and I'm not suprised. ME will eventually be released for the PC. I can feel it!
  15. It was about a geek getting mocked and teased by his schoolfellows all the time because he wasn't the best in football and never got the hot chicks, but instead met his geeky gang to play DnD every time. In MCAs visionary masterpiece "Highschool Mania!", you'd assume the role of a highschool-geek to take vengeance on all these nasty fellows! You'd have a party of geeks and then would have to bribe, beat, confuse or charm your fellows to work yourself up as the leader to finally challenge the school director!
  16. I'd love to see Obsidian doing an action-oriented (read: not FPS) RPG in the vein of Deus Ex, Omikron or Beneath a Steel Sky. Something Cyperpunky with a mix of utopian future horrors, some Noir, some Japanese Giant Robots and lots of kewl MCA humor! On top of that, some of uncle Feagies lovely dried sweat to add some aroma and just to remeber us how much we still love you, Obsidian! But for loves sake, please do a break for DnD after NWN2!
  17. Gothic 3 is a pure hardcore RPG!!!111 No, just kidding. Or is it? No..no, yes, nOOO!! YES!!!! Now tell me, how many puppies did I kill already??? (w00t)
  18. Halleluja!
  19. But the question now is whether is the author of both reviews is the same person. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> AFAIK, Gamestar has several reviewers for one game. Then they'll hold a conference where they discuss pros/cons etc. and then decide in groups.
  20. I tend to agree, although player reviews often have heavy spoilers, so I have to collect infos on every source. Net mags, Print mags, some player impressions and of course a healthy portion of fanboyism and trust into the developer. I know I'll get NWN2 for sure...sometime in December however.
  21. Well, whatever. The same magazine gave Kotor2 88% and criticized the shortcomings, while it seems to them the NWN2 OC is almost perfect, but give it only a 85%. So much for magazine reviews. They're so fickle sometimes....
  22. That's old news Sand. Take a look in the other NWN2 thread.
  23. Meh, I couldn't care less about another crappy Hollywood production based on a crappy game. Though I hope it doesn't break Jackson's neck. I'm more interested in his new project he's working with his newly established Wingnut Interactive.
  24. Yeah, it's always the misprints. They happen so often, someone might suggest most reviewers are just a little stupid, that's all. Doesn't matter, the journalism in the game industry is still in the baby shoes, so no harm caused.
  25. Those magazine reviewers get paid for a useless job to spread lies and myths. On the one hand the devs say a SM 2.0 card is required (starting with 128MB cards I think), and then the reviewers say a 512MB card is required. DOES.NOT.COMPUTE. Even high-end FPS now don't need 512MB cards. Tsk Tsk.
