  1. Bad practice? That's been going on the whole time in Corporate capitalism.
  2. Putting different studios under the BioWare umbrella is just a preperation for mass shutdown. If EA announces "Bioware will be dissolved", it doesn't just mean Edmonton and Austin. It means everybody. Much more convenient to get rid of employees.
  3. Space Jesus? That's just silly. I always thought when the Engineer was touching David, he figured he was an android, thus enraging him because their own creations dared to create their own little image as well. Maybe he should have touched Weyland first, and everything could have turned out more...civilized. But hey, where would that leave Prometheus 2 then? I think neither Ridley, nor Lindelof or Spaiths really knew exactly how this whole thing was supposed to unravel. The movie wasn't really so much about plot cohesion, but about making people wonder what's next and why and this and that. Okay, mission succesful. The next screenwriter certainly has a lot of holes and answers to fill though.
  4. So it's all about special effects now? Aha. Nice to see *you* were just trolling me the whole time.
  5. I'm just saying, somebody who claims the AvP movies were better than Prometheus is obviously not knowing much about movies and thus not worth in my opinion to argue with. I could write down 3000 words why this and why that but you already made up your mind so I won't bother. That's fine.
  6. If you can't enjoy a well made movie then maybe you should change hobbies? Reading? Hiking?
  7. "Hi I'm an Alien and I'm making you humans" It doesn't say that. We don't even know if that was on Earth. We know nadding, and I love it. The truth ought not to be explained so childishly easy.... for that we have James Cameron.
  8. You don't like mysteries huh? Kids these days.
  9. It doesn't explain everything to detail, it only allures to certain possibilities. I don't like having everything shoved down my throat, not every movie needs a prefect conculsion. Use your imagination. And if that doesn't help, there still might be answers in Prometheus 2.
  10. There is a difference between remaining vague and not adressing it at all. This film asks the question and then ignores the hell out of it. A smart movie would have dealt with implications, theories, asked more questions. This movie confirmed the Engineers as our creators in one breath and routinely ignored everything about it. It didn't ignore these questions. Maybe you should just pay more attention then.
  11. You may perceive it as dumb, but I liked the fact that the intentions of the Engineers, and that whole "why?" remained vague. Also the design I though was very striking. From the space suits which refreshingly didn't look like another dumb fat Space Marine combat boxes to the creepy and majestic Engineers, everything was done well. Acting wasn't so good (apart from David), and the dialogs could have been better, but overall Prometheus was a bold attempt to revitalise the Sci-Fi genre. Also, lots of thighs and tight suits to show dem womenly shapes.
  12. Flaws or not, I liked the theme of the movie. And no, it was not a horror movie. You can't shock people in these days anymore, and Scott very well knew that, so he tried a different route. Now Prometheus 2 hopefully is gonna answer lots of these open questions.
  13. Dude no, just no. Prometheus was a decent movie. Not a classic, but decent enough, and certainly better than that overrated trash that is Avatar. But comparing Prometheus with insultive mental garbage like the AvP movies is going to far here buddy. Credits were credits are due. If Alien was a 9.2/10 to me, them Prometheus was still a solid 8.0/10.
  14. By the way, in that blog the new GM also reveals that Bio Edmonton is working on a brand new IP.
  15. In before Volly coldly pretending that he doesn't care.
  16. http://blog.bioware.com/2012/09/18/ray-muzyka-greg-zeschuk-retire/ Ray is becoming some kind of entrepreneur advisor, and Greg is gonna have a show about beer brewing!
  17. Nice to see Bioware is at least taking more development time with this one.
  18. Only thing I can complain so far are the Marines. I really really miss their low macho voices and their noisy radio chatter.

  20. Finally started playing Black Mesa (after countless corrupted file downloads). It is really as good and ambitious as I have anticipated it. The long wait has been worth it.
  21. As much as I endorse artistic freedoms, I do not want to see Obsidian HQ getting blown up.
