RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
Buying a brand new console at release is for the most part always a stupid idea, for several reasons: a) Launch titles are rushed crap. b) Developers ain't gonna get hold of the final SDKs about a couple months before the consoles ship. So add 2+ years after launch until you see the first real "Next-Gen" titles showing up. Kinda like this generation which didn't really took off until end 2007 and later with first quality titles being released. c) Obvious high pricing and hardware/software glitches that could emerge with the first SKUs.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS!
Unlikely. MS is also moving away with Xbox as a dedicated gaming console and more towards an overall entertainment hub. It's also gonna include some motion-control gimmick which will make the whole package probably more expensive. Also, the PS3 has plenty of great exclusives (MGS4, Heavy Rain, Uncharted series, The Last of Us, Beyond, The Last Guardian, Demon's Souls and many more). Just no real dedicated RPGs. But that genre is as good as dead anyway (minus Obsidian).

Anti-Dragon Age 2?
Let me know if you are willing to put money on that. It's not a bet, it's a very safe assumption. BioWare makes competent games if they get enough time.

Anti-Dragon Age 2?
Let's just say that if they **** this one up, they'll be out of excuses. "**** this one up" comes down to personal opinion at best. At the very least, it will sell another 2 million units or more. BioWare will stick around for the future.

What are you playing now - the plays the thing
Assassin's Creed is about pressing a button or two and watch Ezion/Connor doing marvelous things that look awesome but have the gameplay depth of a screensaver. Avoid at any cost.

Anti-Dragon Age 2?
DA3 is bound to be the best DA game, possibly the best BioWare game in recent history. Why? They got plenty of pre-production and development time plus using a new and very robust technology (Frostbite 2 based), so Bio would have to do something very very stupid to screw that up.

Disney buys Lucasfilm
I'm with you here Hassat Hunter. The problem is that success only means something *within* a quaterly result. Long-term investments and revenues are deemed too risky or "unprofitable", and that's exactly why every decision making of stock exchange registered firms these days is bound to be shortsighted and bad in nature.

Disney buys Lucasfilm
I don't know, that seems pretty unlikely - Spielberg doesn't like sequels. He's only done a handful - the Indiana Jones sequels and The Lost World, and he's publicly stated he regretted the latter. Still, he was originally slated to do one but had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts. Why wouldn't he like sequels? Besides this is now a chance to start anew, with completely new characters and story, who wouldn't want to get his hands on such an opportunity? I'm just saying this because Steve and George are big long-term buddies, and Steve also has very good technical and animation expertises, not to mention he's considered to be a highly efficient director in general. These are the qualities required to deliver a big name spectacle like Episode VII.

According to IMDB:

Disney buys Lucasfilm
This franchise needs a lot fresh blood. But I suspect Lucas' buddy Steven Spielberg is gonna direct, which means it will be just more of the same, only a bit more competent.

What are you playing now
So, anybody already played some Assassin's Creed 3? I read they managed to dumb down the gameplay even more...

Hmm..... With Lucas out of the way, there's now a chance for a good Star Wars movie? And Warren Spector is gonna make a Star Wars game a'right?

David Attenborough disappointed with and sick of the USA's head in the sand attitude to global warming
On the one hand economists claim more manufacturing and industrial output is gonna get Western countries out of their slow-down/recession, on the other hand corporations should be more taxed for carbon emissions. How can this paradox be solved? Unemployment versus the wellbeing of the environment, what do you think is gonna be more important to politicians when election time comes up?
