Gabe would never sell out to MS, because this would mean they'll be degraded to a Xbox 360-only firm. Besides, Valve could probably buy MS. Epic? Why would they sell out? And what would that mean for their successful middleware? Seriously, some companies have to remain independent. And Activision has the Call of Duty franchise. Played a bit more RE4, now I finally rescued the president's daughter, but have to make my way to the extraction point. Shooting hordes of zombies with barely no ammo left plus the presidents daughter getting carried away is really funny. REALLY FUNNY I SAID!!!!

Well Zenimax hasn't meddled in Bethesda affairs, so we can assume they won't in id affairs either. Still, despite growing fatter now I hope id retains it's nice touch of perfectionism and the superb, hand-crafted leveldesign.

There is one already and it's official. I don't really care much for the new id Software, they haven't really made anything good lately and Doom 3 was a pile of monster closets. The sad part will be classic franchises getting dragged out from their well deserved resting places only to be molested and turned into something unnatural like a person who stares straight into your soul while you feed them the conversation pie. I doubt that this will affect Rage too much, if anything it will get them more funding. EDIT: Props to them for all their Linux stuff, I'm sure Beth will kill that ASAP. In the announcement it was made pretty clear that id will continue to operate independently, so I doubt Mac and Linux users will have anything to fear.

The problem was that some third-party software (CCleaner) screwed up my Registry, that's why SP2 couldn't install. Now, after a fresh install, it's up and running.

The Wii has some interesting line up. There's that Metroid: Other M which should reboot the Metroid series, there's that new Resident Evil (though I'm sceptical about the on-rail gameplay), there's Cursed Mountain, there's a new Silent Hill, and then there's Sadness, which I hope is still coming. And allegedly, Bioware and Valve are also working on Wii games. Hmm...

Anyway, I really dig Metroid 3. Never really could get into the Original on Gamecube, but Corruption has a nice mix of story-telling, shooting and puzzles. RE4 is also nice because now I can actually aim at the faces, so I save some ammo.

Just wait until you try Wii Motion+. That will blow your mind! EDIT: I'm playing Nexus: The Jupiter Incident and it's super special awesome. Hmm, does that work by default with any game, oder does the game have to support the Motion plus? Nope, the game needs to support it. The new Tiger Woods game is the only one that supports it and is also out. More should be coming during the summer. So there's no improved senitivity if I play Metroid Prime? Hmm, not that I can't complain, but I thought the hardware upgrade should be all that is needed, without extra software modification.
