I'm curios if the Bioware name alone will save DA's backwardness (sorry, I mean old-skoolness). They have some big plans for the franchise, so I wonder if the mass market doen't accept DA's old formula, Bio will turn DA2 into a Mass Effect clone.

Then how did you get through the early levels of Divinity 2?
I was about to give up anyway, and then I got lucky and managed to escape (again).
There was also nothing else to play during summer so I gave it a chance.
I watched a 30 min gameplay video today, and for some reason I completely lost any interest for DA. Combat reminds me a bit too much of WoW, and it takes too long to even take down a simple Orc. I don't think I have the patience for that anymore.
I was actually thinking about gettin Risen, but then I reconsidered, and finally decided not to buy it. I heard only Chapter1 is good, the rest is mindless slaying.
I think we have to see the bigger picture. In order to pull that off, Valve also needs to completely overhaul their facial animation and gesture system. I expect something really outstanding in that regard.
