Since I liked DA plus Awakening very much chances are I'm getting DA2 day 1 as well.
Edit: Wait Dungeon Siege 3 is also coming out Q1 2011 right? Looks bad for Obsidian then.
Boy, thinking of it, Sega lost tons of money with Obsidian. Obsidian only benefited from it because they got their first own IP out (good for prestige) plus a fully developed Onyx Engine. Sega lost big.
A million copies for 2005/2006 standards is very good. Also, back then Obsidian was still smaller so they definitely got some decent profit out of it. Your statement is therefor false.
And you know that from where?
I don't have myself the numbers at hand, but Kotor2 definitely sold very well, so did NWN2 (both confirmed by Atari and Ferg).
Did Obsidian ever contemplate making a Nintendo (3)DS/PSP game? You know, something a bit tactical, preferbly turn based. For the western market. I would think SquareEnix would be the right publisher for it.
I played a bit of Trine, but I grew tired of it. Same for Torchlight. Haven't played the rest, but my guess is they're just overhyped and boring (for me).
That has nothing to do with insight, it's just a fact. A bunch of dudes making some ZRPG? Fine, but I don't waste my time with indie products. I want to have real production values, from a 50+ team at least.
Meh. You can't have everything. Prepping a toolset that runs on a wide range of computers needs extra time and effort. Maybe Obsidian doesn't have that time.
Well that's kinda Segas fault. The game was ready to be shipped for a October 2009 release, you know, prior DA and ME2. It could have had a better chance in that time window.
I probably won't buy FO:NV either when it comes out. I'm so full of F3 and seeing that NV is basically the same with better writing I'm not keen on playing this anytime soon.
