Quite true, because unless I'm mistaken Carth never got the hots for my male PC. The only link between them is that both of their wives died. For whatever reason Carth is the joke of this forum. Well Torment repeatedly enters most of the "best games of all time lists", which at the very least means it has earned a place in most critics/gamers memories. That;s a start. As does Doom, Half Life, BG, KoTOR, Quake, Mario, MGS and Halo. Besides game journalists are paid. GoG users seem to disagree - although, again, they are more likely to be biased in favor of the game than, say, a Halo kiddy. Again that's a fraction of the gaming community. I voted for SS2.

0%? You really believe that? Does it have a big effect on piracy? No, but that doesn't mean it has no effect. As to what happened to old fashioned gaming, P2P happened. Everything changes over time. In the end I'll take Steam over any other form of DRM. Especially ME/EA limited activations crap. So you can't play in offline mode? I had never tried until you said, but I can.

Steam is not intrusive. DL it once, then never go online again to play the game, if that is too much trouble for you, get a new hobby.

But they are not indicative of other indie/$20 games. It's like showing someone HL2 and saying all FPS are as good as this, when in reality most aren't. Nothing will convince me, most of the indie game I've bought I haven't enjoyed and have nothing on 'mainstream' games. Of course there are a few that are excellent, but I won't worship indie games/devs as the saviour of games like others do. Remember I'm not someone dissatisfied with current games.

Portal and TF2 are not indie games. Apart from that you have listed a handfull of indie games. You also forgot The Path. Gross overestimate. (Ignore the Wii games, unless made by Nintendo) As is not buying games because they are 'mainstream'. People still do it though.

Dare I ask why? Because 95% of the time they are crap. The only cheap indie game that I've felt was worth the purchase, was Mount & Blade.
