  1. Because Bioware isn't a games developer, it's a belief system. Yep. They regularly sacrifice virgins to their romance overlord Gaider.
  2. The dalish elf origin is about as boring and generic as can be. Boring yes, generic? That should of been the Human noble origin too. I think I'm going to get nightmares tonight. Someone has a dirty mind.
  3. Peter Molyneux: Talks about....
  4. how do you know if its ready or not I have inside sources. Do you have those, hmm? No, so don't question me! The voices in your head don't count.
  5. Anything not turn/round based equals action rpg.
  6. Well going by there user poll: Best RPG from E3? Arcania (6.9%) Alpha Protocol (24.44%) Disciples III (4.48%) Divinity II (20.71%) Dragon Age (29.48%) Mass Effect 2 (12.13%) Venetica (1.87%) They are normal.
  7. When I played the game, I tried the "cover & shoot" but I found that most enemies would just charge me and unload a shotgun in my face. *shrug* So I switched to Rambo tactics which worked great for the entire game. That's bad AI, not a broken cover and shoot mechanic.
  8. Again you believe your opinion is correct, when what it is, is your opinion. Mass Effect = Action RPG Does the tactical party thing work? 360; version not so much, PC version: Yes (but not as well as it could, due to AI issues) Does the cover and shoot thing work? Yes Does that mean the game is a failure from a gameplay design standpoint? No Almost all previews noted that ME biggest failing was it's combat and that as the franchise went on that should be the area they improved on. They just didn't believe (like me) the combat was as bad as you did. Where have I said I don't like tactics? I said I don't play rpgs for tactics, there are other games that offer it, far better then any rpg.
  9. Dalish Elf Origin
  10. You would hope it sells better then that. Games nowdays need about, 1 million in copies shipped to break even.
  11. If it ends up doing what ME is doing it will prove that point. If it fixes the inherent flaws in the conception then I'll be the first to put my dunce cap on. No all it will prove is that both devs have not successfully combined the two yet. Dues Ex proves a hybid can be done very well. While Diablo was the game that coined it, the term now days has broadened. Most journalist will call ME/AP an action rpg, the devs themselves will also use the term to describe their games. Oblivion and FO3 are also considered action rpgs. Which I agree with, I was disagreeing with people play rpgs for tactics. A lot do, a lot don't.
  12. That is good news. I hope they flesh out the party members little (read: alot!) more. Which is unlikely, since they have doubled the amount of party members.
  13. No, not unless AP is as well. (Which I don't believe) Again no, DA:O is a game made by bio trying to be a tactical rpg. ME is a action rpg. I don't play rpgs for 'tactics', I play them for there story and characters. To you maybe, but not to me, I enjoyed ME more then a lot of the games on your 'good' list. Except for VTM:B and maybe MOTB. +1 Which is why I'm not pleased with a lot of then news coming out for ME2. The only good news to come out for it so far is, that ME2 has one third more dialogue then the original.
  14. Youre excited about Diablo III? Anyone who isn't is a fraud. Then I'm a fraud as I'm not interested in that, nor am I interested in Starcraft II for that matter. +1
  15. That's just stupid, did they give any good reason? From a Bio dev: So that's the reason they are giving. He went onto say: There is more, but it's along the same lines. (dev hype up) Just to be clear here you can still use crouch cover, but you can't crouch in general. But let me ask you, when was the last time you played a shooter that didn't have crouch.
  16. New news on ME2. The ability to crouch has been removed from the game.
  17. I really enjoyed MoW, well worth $10.
  18. Yeah. You're still a nerd for posting in a game forum. No way around it. Exactly.
  19. Well for starters it could be a different journalist, one might not care about facial animation the other might. Secondly, AP is never really going to be compared with DA:O, when it comes down to it, the difference between them is like night and day. (You can't say with a straight face the DA:O graphics are up to AP standards) The games AP will be compared with are other TPS rpgs. Now the only other game like that currently on the market is ME, so that is what AP is being compared to.
  20. Apparently you can do that while transferring your saves. I'm still thinking about getting the steam version of ME, since ME2 will be released on both PC&360 simultaneously. You know that the retail version of ME is by now a lot cheaper than the Steam version? Not in Aus. $49.99 retail, $29.99 on steam(works out at $35AUD).

  22. See when they said hubs, I assumed VTM:B hubs(yes I know assumptions = bad), to learn that all the hub is, is basically where the missions and story take place with loading screens between safehouse and mission caught me off guard. It might not bother me, as it stands, I'm not sold on it. Can't speak for Risen haven't seen much of it, but yes DA:O aren't good at all. But what does that have to do with it? Bugs are bugs, I don't like them. Now in two months time I could look back at these posts and think what the hell was I on? Because it's still on my buy list, but currently, have less expectations for this game. If you thought I was trying to convince you or others that you should think the way I do, I'm not. I was just explaining why I think that way.
  23. What!? Where? How? Asari consort. She gives you advice, my renegade Shepard replied 'that it' he get raped.
  24. You know what I meant. I would like the wheel just as much as the standard dialog system, if it would give more information how shepard reacts. The Asari rape scene anyone? Basically it would be nice to be told in advanced if someone is going to rape me. Common courtesy.
