  1. For me, it doesn't matter anyway. I personally don't rank "originality" very high on my list of qualities that make a good computer game. At least not as far as story or characters or world-building goes. Or even graphics so much. In gameplay, yes, there its nice to see something new, or at least something spun around and done slightly differently, at least occaisonally. If DA rips of Tolkien, its ok with me. If I don't like the game, that won't be the reason why. I agree completely. In fact, I will go further and say that a game being 'original' just for the sake of being different will often turn me off the game - for example, I haven't played the Witcher. I like my fantasy conventions.
  2. I liked what I saw in the teaser, but it was very short - I would have expected something longer and perhaps some gameplay footage too.
  3. I liked the teaser, though it was very short.
  4. actually, i think Bio estimates the baseline intelligence of their customers by reference to their own forums. There are some pretty intelligent posters on the Bioware fora, but yes, this was a most pathetic publicity stunt by Bioware.
  5. This sucks - I was looking forward to some interesting new info and we get nothing again. Oh well, I guess it's back to waiting.
  6. I had my console hooked in through my PC, using my PC speakers and monitor for sound and display. Yes, but I presume you have a desktop monitor and PC speakers, whereas I only have a notebook computer. If you want to PC game a Desktop is really the only way to go unless you can aford a $3000 laptop. Well, so far Mass Effect has been the only game I have shown interest in that I cannot run, so my two and a half year old notebook (which cost about $1500 at the time of purchase) has not done too badly.

  8. Well, I not only do not have a console, but I also don't have a TV, which consoles, as far as I know, require to function.
  9. Only one more day to wait to see what will be revealed!
  10. Well, the issue is settled for me - my notebook's graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements, so a purchase is out, at least for now.
  11. That is correct - Real Time does not necessarily equal twitch - that's why I asked about it in the first place.
  12. Thank you for the feedback. Based on that I am leaning towards getting the game, though I have meanwhile been scouring for information and came across information that the Securom DRM on Mass Effect is truly draconian, so I am now unsure based on that aspect of the product...
  13. Question to help me make up my mind whether I should or shouldn't buy Mass Effect: Is the gameplay twitch based or not?
  14. I am wondering whether Mass Effect is worth it as a game for me. I think the crucial factor is whether the game-play is twitch-based or not.
  15. Storm of Zehir Diablo III Starcraft II Dragon Age
  16. I am certainly looking forward to more information about the game on July 9th!
  17. It's not the movie. Check this out: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG http://paizo.com/pathfinder
  18. Demons are nothing - cows are tough beasties!
  19. LAN rules! Well, maybe they want to expand their control through Battle.net. I just got a little woried due to all the emphasis being placed on the Battle.net in the announcements with no mention of alternatives whatsoever.
  20. Yes, Diablo II is much more fun in multiplayer, but I don't want to play it over the Battle.net with people I don't know. I want to play it over LAN and hope that will remain possible in Diablo III.
  21. I would not want to see full respecing either, but some limited respecing would be fine.
  22. Just forgot to reiterate that I too would love to see a PC game of Pathfinder.
  23. A rogue can only become trained/skill focused in the thievery skill giving him a +5/+10 as compared to the wizard, which means that DCs of 40 or higher are going to be very rare even at 30th level. Besides, that is not really an excuse for giving wizard a +15 in the thievery skill absolutely scot free, as depending on one's gamestyle, they might still face more mundane locks more or less often. For me, this is almost a dealbreaker issue as far as 4E goes and though not quite a dealbreaker in itself, in combination with other near-dealbreakers...
  24. Well, apart from this particular thread, also here: On Paizo's side: http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizo...icProductsCRPGs On Obsidian's side: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=50118
  25. I have recently become enamored with Pathfinder and am wondering whether Obsidian Entertainment might ever consider making a Pathfinder CRPG. I would certainly love to see one!
