Ukraine Conflict - Es ist nichts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit
It should, we'll hopefully see in few days. Also from what I understood, the weather before/during/after the incident was not good, so the weather might be the real reason, why there is still lack of pictures available...

Ukraine Conflict - Es ist nichts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit
From what I understood, now that the Mykolaiv is unreachable to Russia, the Black Sea Fleet is considered the only way how to start/stage the attack on Odessa, a city which is pretty high in the hierarchy of cities to defeat for Russian propaganda. And Moskva was also the primary defense system against attacks on supply ships in the area. Yes, from the reports I've read (not sure how true they are) they made the air defense of Moskva busy with couples of Bayraktars, so they probably did not noticed the Neptunes, until it was to late. EDIT: The situation about the Kherson Airport was so ridiculous already week or two ago, that the official Ukrainian Army Media Officer did compare it to the famous scene from Far Cry 3 in one of his speeches 😄

As mentioned little bit above it was completely retrofitted in 2000, so it can be considered newer than Ticonderoga. I have not knew before, they are armed with S300 rockets by default, so thank you for the correction. I have see it more or less as a pretty big hit to their prestige as well, but the monetary value for me was pretty interested, as they will be unable to replace it with anything else for a very long time. Also it was the main defense ship in Black Sea (I think also the biggest) So it pretty much crippled Russian naval attack and defense potential in whole Black Sea. Also one more article about Moskva, with more details. And yes, I know the reputation of Daily Mail, but so far, one of the most detailed info on the incident available now, which I've found, which is citing both sides. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10717065/Go-f-Russian-warship-BLOWN-Cruiser-Moskva-hit-Ukrainian-missile.html

Ukraine Conflict - Es ist nichts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit
More information about what happened at Black Sea, armament of the ship, and the strategic implications of the loss for Russia. Said by one of our retired generals, who knows a lot about how Russian military works. Google translate from his official Facebook page. "The destruction of the Moscow cruiser is a severe blow to Russia All indications are that the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moscow is over. This was to happen after being hit by two Neptune missiles of Ukrainian production. This is extremely bad news for the Black Sea Fleet. In addition to the command, this ship was also to provide missile defense for the fleet. The cruiser became known for the incident on Serpent Island, and it appears to have ended up where it was sent by the island's defenders, who refused to surrender. The Moscow cruiser was 46 years old. It was originally called Glory. It was built in 1976 and was included in the armament in 1979. The cruiser was decommissioned in 1990. Subsequently, it was modernized and re-assigned to the Navy in 2000 under the new name Moscow. It is an important ship and its loss will hurt the Russians very much. The Russians have already announced that after the ship's fire and the explosion of its ammunition, they had to evacuate the ship. It was a 186.4 m long ship, literally packed with weapons of all kinds. The Russians have not yet officially admitted that they lost the ship as a result of the Ukrainian attack. They obscure the fire, but did not specify its cause. The ship's armament included 16 fixed launchers for anti-ship missiles P-1000, 64 vertical containers for air defense system missiles S-300 and launchers for 40 missiles Axis for air protection of the ship itself and a variety of weapons. The equipment was supplemented by torpedo chambers and a helicopter. It was this rocket-laden ship that was supposed to be the best protection for the entire fleet against Ukrainian attacks. Without this ship, the fleet will be significantly more vulnerable. The possibility of a naval landing at Odessa is thus significantly reduced. The Russian navy has so far been more or less intact, but it has kept its distance. A number of caliber flat-caliber missiles were fired from the ships, destroying targets throughout Ukraine. The Ukrainians originally wanted to get a total of 6 Neptune fire batteries in the spring of this year, but according to published reports, they have only one battery. The Neptune rocket is a missile with a flat flight path. It is derived and redesigned from the original S-125 (Neva) anti-aircraft missile, which was also in the arsenal of the Slovak Armed Forces in the second half of the 1990s. Rating: After the heavy losses of the ground forces and air force, the loss of the anti-missile cruiser, which was supposed to protect the entire fleet, is another shameful message for the Russian armed forces. It does not fit into the concept of a special military operation. The Russians will deny the destruction of the attack. But they will have to stay away from the shore. To make matters worse, the Ukrainians said they were seizing ten merchant ships from the Russians. They were in Odessa for repairs." EDIT: Just for the sake of it, Russian official stance on the incident by MoD: Russian Ministry of Defense says fire at cruiser Moskva has been contained, explosions ceased, crew evacuated and the vessel is being tugged to the port.

The official Kherson Airport report by Arestovych from three hours ago. Apparently, the Ukraine wiped the floor with Russian forces for 15th time at the same spot 😄Google translated from Ukrainian: "- You will laugh, but ... Chernobaevka-15. Warehouses with ammunition of the 22nd Army Corps (Crimea) were destroyed. Plus - the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, the cruiser "Moskva" made a negative ascent in the area of the island where it was sent to yuh. Gestalt is closed. Where is Moscow? "She drowned." The sinking of the Moskva is a colossal military event and the largest defeat of the Russian fleet since WWII, and the largest warship sunk in the world since 1945. A very ringing slap in the face, all the more symbolic in name. You wouldn't go, damn it, to Ukraine.)"

Also, sorry for another multipost, but only now, I have found another funny news 😄 A day after Russian settled again at Kherson airport. There is a report that the Kherson Airport is again on fire 😄 (In all seriousness, if I count correctly, it is 12th attack of Ukrainian army on the same airport, after the Russians had settled there and got annihilated over and over and over 😄 Even few high ranked commanders were eliminated during these counterattacks 😄 It's a biggest military meme in the last 100 years 😄

I have already seen, that the Zelensky's adviser has already said, that the Bild/CNN was not correct about that statement. All I have found so far is this though:

More news on Moskva, keep in mind, part of it is unconfirmed: Cost of the ship in todays money vould be 1-2billions USD. It is said, it was loaded with S300s to support occupied territories with AA defense. Ergo, if this is true, depending of number of S300s loaded, Ukraine just sunk minimum of 3 billions USD with two rockets...

We do care. Only in Vysegrad Countries and Romania are more than 4.5 millions of them. Even my incompetent government is pumping a lot of money to volunteers and companies who help the refugees with accommodation and work.

As I see it, Poles had some kind of military training near the Ukrainian borders and during the lunch break, they decided to left the keys in the starters, considering being safe, but unfortunately, they did not get a memo, that on the other side of the border, the Ukrainian 1st Tractor division has an exercise as well, and probably some of their farmers just could not resist

I would consider this still as a false info. It was presented mainly by Kadyrovs, and their authenticity is pretty dubious... From their TikToks, the count of their PoW has been counted to apporx 50. Also Ukrainian MoD claims, that this is no true. My own guess would be, it is more than 50 soldiers, because some of them definitely surrendered due to no ammunition, but 1000 is a blatant Russian lie, like most of their statements in the last 105 years NextaTV report on this: Speaking about the breakthrough operation, it looks like it was successful. Not sure how many other units have tried to join them, but few hundreds of them are allegedly now with Azov. Google Translate of the tweet: In Mariupol, a unit of the 36th Independent Marine Brigade - Rear Admiral Belinsky, managed to get out of the enemy's siege and unite with the Azov Regiment. Several hundred Marines managed to get out, including the wounded. UA Insider

Well the difference is, that Saudis do not have nukes... But I am one of the people who got always attacked by being pro Russian, when I brought up this conflict and Saudis atrocities (not on these forums but IRL)... And whether we like it or not, people are more engaged, when their neighbours are being killed than some random folks 1000 miles away. Prime example would be, that people here gave as much **** about 9/11 as they give now about Saudis killing Yemenis

Technically, they are not mercenaries, as they have officially signed joining papers of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion. They needed to be approved by Ukrainian Military to join their ranks, to officially fight for them and get the official support by the Ukrainian Army. They are foreigners, but still part of the Ukrainian army. Of course there are also some foreigners which are there on their own. But it's much lower number, from what I understood.

Well to be honest, when you compare what had US done to Afghanistan compared to Soviet Union, then it's like small sting by needle compared to amputation of both legs... That does not mean, that I am condoning what they did made there...

If you consider North Korea as a positive example of being Chinese vassal, then I really apologize, but I have to question the sanity of that statement

Many of us could not imagine that Russia will be so stupid to dig trenches in Chernobyl, or that they would put 11 time in the row their war instruments on Chornobaivka airport near Kherson, just to let them be destroyed over and over and over 😄 Anyway, you probably missed that, because I put that in one of the edits, but in Russia, there are already people who demand the use of chemical weapons in Mariupol, including their propaganda mouthpiece RIA Novosti. Repost: Also the mouthpiece of Russian propaganda RIA Novosti is already spreading the word, how a chemical attack in Mariupol is urgently needed... https://t.me/rian_ru/158246 Google translate: Basurin said that it makes no sense to storm the underground fortifications of Azovstal in Mariupol, you need to "turn to the chemical troops" "There are underground floors, so it makes no sense to take this object by storm. Because you can put a large number of your soldiers, and the enemy will not suffer losses as such" “Therefore, at the moment it is necessary to deal with the blocking of this plant, find all the exits and entrances - in principle, this can be done." @Sarex Allow me to apologize, if my previous post looked like, it was aimed directly at you. That was not the case. It was just my seldom clumsiness to properly express in written form what I really want to say I just wanted to given my reasons, why I am sometimes prefer to do multiple post, due to my not very good experience with Multiquote forum feature. And I fully understand that why it might be annoying to some people, so I am doing my best to minimize that, and after posting I am trying to post only after enough of other people express their own opinions as well

Well. I am sorry to upset anyone, but lately being not very active here, I am trying to answer all the questions/posts as soon, as I found any interesting ones. And sometimes these questions are spanned over few pages. (Yes, you are correct, not the case this time). Also for some reason when I tried to use multiquote few times in the past, it failed on me few times before. So I am more clumsy than lazy, while trying to answer multiple of people at once

And Russia reportedly will contract 11.2% this year. I bet China is already calculating, how to turn them into their full-fledged vassals... And there are first hints that India is, after the events in Bucha and surrounding towns and villages, starting to reconsider their stance on the situation, which might punish the Russian economy even more. We'll see ho they will act in the coming days/weeks.

Ukraine Conflict - Es ist nichts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit
Well someone posted few days ago snippet from an article speaking about big gas supplies in Black Sea close to Crimea, so in the end, this might help a lot with rebuilding Ukraine, if EU cut's all gas from Russia and get it from Ukraine. All the EU will need to do, is to help build the extractors and pipes... Of course only if that report is true in the first place...

Ukraine Conflict - Es ist nichts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit
Yeah, I've seen that. It was published like hour or two after mine post And yes, the situation changed little bit compared to the time of my post. The PR are not very pompous yet, so not yet all bells and whistles for Russia conquering that town IMHO... Anyway, there was one very interesting event happening today. Someone posted on one of the Mariupol units a post about them running out of ammunition, and they preparing for their last battle. Some experts claim it was authentic, some experts claim it was possible hack and me, being anything but the expert on this, there might be one more possibility - some "false flag" post in the hope that the Russians and Kadyrovs will make something extraordinary stupid again. Here is the take on that FB post by BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61068650 I really wish it is the first or last case, but we'll probably see the correct answer sooner or later. EDIT: Also the mouthpiece of Russian propaganda RIA Novosti is already spreading the word, how a chemical attack in Mariupol is urgently needed... https://t.me/rian_ru/158246 Google translate: Basurin said that it makes no sense to storm the underground fortifications of Azovstal in Mariupol, you need to "turn to the chemical troops" "There are underground floors, so it makes no sense to take this object by storm. The Mariupol situation from yesterday according to ISW. They captured only southern part of the southern port. Also there was almost no info from what is going on there in the last few days, but during weekend, there died a lot of Russians again. Shared on videos as well. No one knows the situation of Ukrainian army though, as it is very well guarded secret. If Russia would make any significant gains, we would see a ****loads of cheap propaganda from their side... Which is not happening. If you do not count the Kadyrov's TikTok Battalion of course 🤷♂️

As I said, I have not seen it, despite one of our journalists have provided the links to the material... And as monty said, I am not planning to watch it as well. The journalist has good enough resumé to believe him, what he said about the incident, without me needing to see such ****ing insane **** which this guy has done...

More info about Alexey Bychkov, apparently, Russians made the first positive thing during this conflict and detained him.
