  1. I watched few E3 streams in previous years, but anything except SONY, was so bland and boring. You do not need to watch Ubisoft show at all, for example. Just write on a paper few times ICONIC and EPIC, put it on wall and look at it for one hour. It's as much entertaining as all their E3 shows, which I've seen. Sony on other hand, has always made very interesting show to watch, even when it presented games, which I do not care at all. And this year, they promised, they would bring more Japanese games to Playstation brand again, so I am curious which kind of games it will be, and if they will cooperate even with smaller japanese companies to bring more localized games to the market.
  2. It's close to DnD 3.5 (NWN2) but imo the unlimited resting would break all caster classes and make them OP (if the game stays close to PnP rules).
  3. Graphics in a game is last thing I care about. I still play SNES and PSX games nowadays and most of them are for me much better fun than any graphics dependent current gen game. And laptop for me is a no go, because I rather sit on my sofa and play on my 46" TV, than on 15-17" laptopscreen or 22-24" monitor. Rather than buying expensive notebook/pc and monitor, I purchase a console and quality big TV.
  4. Same with me. I love them on console, I don't care about them on PC.
  5. Most of them are just for statistical tracking, when the player puts the game on shelf. Nothing else. They just want to know, how many people see their content. The rest is just challenge for completionists.
  6. Dragon's Dogma on GOG :-O https://www.gog.com/news/release_dragons_dogma_dark_arisen Absolutely unexpected O.o
  7. It's easier than it might seem. You just have to not waste your time on first playthroughs of bad games ;-)Not really, digital distribution led to an explosion of good games. Besides, I don't buy anything from EA, Activision or Ubisoft, so that cuts down 90%. Heh. It was meant as a little sarcastic remark ) TBH I am in similar situation, despite "boycotting" Steam, EA, Ubisoft, Activision and trying to buy only the most quality games (which is purely subjective), my backlog is growing and growing. Actually my girlfriend started to play her first computer game ever yesterday (Deponia), so I hope some of my backlog will be of good use in her hands in the next few months )
  8. It's easier than it might seem. You just have to not waste your time on first playthroughs of bad games ;-)
  9. Nothing mentioned if it is based on PFRPG rules, or just lore like Pathfinder Online :-/
  10. Comming both to Steam and GOG \o/
  11. If you like space shooters. Everspace out of Early Access/In Development today. https://www.gog.com/news/release_everspace
  12. Started yesterday evening Tales of Berseria. It's the darkest Tales of game, which I have played so far. I have to get used to the new control scheme, which is very different from all previous titles. I will be alternating the game with Tales of Xillia 2 Platinum run. I still have 95 level to go, so I have decided to play one more game.
  13. Aaand? Has it gone over the must have level already?
  14. I finished ToZ long before I knew, when ToB will be released. I enjoyed it a lot, I am just little bit sad now, that I didńt wait few months longer :-P And I am now little bit burned out of gaming, and despite wanting to get the Plat for ToX2, I somehow do not feel to boot up any of my Playstations nor my PC :-/ I am really thinking to leave last two ToX2 trophies for a later time and start with ToB, but I have few busy workweeks in before me, and I do not want to lose the pace of the story :-/
  15. I was not generalizing, I was just giving an example of person, who never played any games before 39.8 of her age, who prefers to watch/play older games over new games. Nothing wrong with you loving DH games. I like them too. I just avoid playing them when my gf is home )
  16. And Dishonored not being up to taste for my gf, was not expected. Because few days before we enjoyed few matches of Mortal Kombat, but there is no story involved, it's just fun to play even for her.
  17. Sorry, but teenagers opinions are not worthy more than oppinions of old farts. I can agree that people over 25, which are done with their rebelious period have their oppinion more relevant than I do. But the biggest reason why we have today so much shovelware is, that the games are focustested on teenage groups. Thankfully at least indie companies are not focus testing, and they are presenting their own creative vision. The music comparison is very relevant to gaming. The fact you can find one small kid playing Bach one youtube, does not prove, that other teenagers have good taste in music as well. Same goes with games. I bet you could find some kids playing Sonic the Hedgehog on MegaDrive emulator on you tube as well. But thousands other teenagers getting wet on Twitch while playing newest Call of Duty shows much more how good is the taste of teenagers ;-)
  18. Could't be bothered to do second edit, but showing anything to teenagers and then present their oppinion on the subject as a universal truth is (to put it mildly) laughable. Have you tried to present to most teenagers Classical Music? Their reaction is mostly the same as seen in your video. By these standards, Justine Bieber would be presented as the best musician, who ever walked the Earth and close Universe... Thankfully there exists some standards, that the people who experienced much more in their lives can point fingers at these teenagers and have a healthy laugh, while listening to real quality music. Same goes for games...
  19. Sorry, one of your videos is FFVII. And with the evolution of stories at least in Square you are completely wrong. The biggest issue of FFVII was not low quality of story, but lower quality of translation, because it was first big japanese title translated to English. And lot of meanings, and cultural references were lost due to bad translation or censorship. If you want to have fair and objective comparison, you should compare FFVIII or FFIX with FFXIII or FFXV, and clear winners would be older titles, no question asked... You are saying only what you think is true. I am saying you are completely missing a point... And experiments like that are done daily on kids. And they rather play oldstyle games with cute graphics on their phones or tablets, or LEGO games, than play some photorealistic bull****. My 40 years old girlfriend, which never played any games before we started to live together also prefers older games with handdrawn graphics than the new and hip "ultrarealistic" stuff for acne ridden teenagers whose favourite thing to do is to increase their self-esteem by teacupping their opponents and yelling GIT GUD... Her reaction to me playing Dishonored for first time says it all. "Oh god. It's awfull and depressing, please stop to play that game when I am around." She was used to watch me play my games and loved to uncover the story with me together. EDIT: and NES is 80's not 90's. So you are making your own argument automatically invalid.
  20. Well from European point of view, you are not much late to the party, we got it released here at the beginning of 2017 :-D
  21. Do you realize, that most of the indies with the best stories are written by the people who were awesome writers already in 90's??? So no, writers are not better than before. The best are still the best and the new writers, especially in AAA, are just doing what they are allowed to do, or are just bad. If you you spend ****loads of money on graphics and hype, there is not much of them left for quality writing. I remember most of the games and situations in stories, in games I played as a young boy. Nowadays in some games I even can't remember names of some main characters in some games right after I finish them. That's how forgetable the writing in "modern" games is.
  22. You know you want to Platinum Xillia 2 :-D Anyway. Have you finished Tales of Berseria yet? If not, I think playing it before Tales of Zestiria makes more sense. Or it's your 2nd playthrough of ToZ?
  23. Got it, tried it and I think I won't be buying any western JRPGs for the near future. It's just a weak imitation of cultural norms made by people that don't understand them and that avoid any originality that it might have in order to be more like the Japanese cliches. All in all the same issues that these type of games run into, combat isn't as calculated and refined as JRPGS (very far from it) dialog comes off as awkward, stiff and unnatural (probly because they're trying to sound like anime dubs). Full disclosure I barely played 10 minutes into the game and I"m already dissapointed, I hope to be wrong but this seems to be more of a fan project than an actual game. Sorry to hear that, haven't played it yet. Hope, it get's better.
