  1. On replay value: Would suggest playing on supernova but with NO companions. Because after all, if gameplay involving companions is as linear as you suggest, then why bother punishing yourself with the deja vu? Just take the perk that benefits you for being a lone wanderer. And since you focused on charisma (I always opt for this regardless of what my ultimate role will be), then why not focus on being a charismatic sociopath? The type of guy who is cloak and dagger to his NPC faction allies. Doesn't have a problem smiling at Pavarati before bludgeoning her to death when she turns her back. Or quietly murdering their companions because Ada irritated him once too many times. Basically, the sort of PC who completely lacks a moral compass or conscience when given the ethical choice to not kick a hapless puppy or steal candy from a baby. Let your PC be a charismatic Hannibal Lector (or Jigsaw if more Melee type) who is pro board/corporation as long as it benefits him in the long run i.e. gives him the greatest amount of personal gain/monetary assets etc. And be uninhibited enough to let your PC's inner psychopath run wild in social situations in public. Or if you're the more sneakier type, preferably in dark alleyways away from prying eyes of the good citizens of Halcyon. You could even make it your goal to antagonize all the factions. Drive your repuation with them to -100%. What impact does that have on the game ending in that case?
  2. Lack of budget, time and manpower resources to put together a guide of masterpiece quality level that is the Red Dead Redemption 2 guide (Collector's edition). Also what Voronja said. It's unfortunately a sign of the times in the Digital Age. Publishers and devs alike aren't keen on wasting resources towards this subjective game deliverable. When it could be better spent in bug fixes, improving game mechanics and game play features. And the fact the new and younger gaming generation (social media addicts who were born after the creation of Google) are impatient gamers. They don't care to read blocks of text (which is what a game manual consists of) when they can readily access the solution to their issue by Googling, posting in forums like this, or elsewhere on the web. Besides using audiovisual media outlets the likes of Youtube and Twitch have pretty much obsoleted the need for gaming devs & publishers to release game manuals anymore. YT vlogger playthroughs, reviews, etc. on how to play the game are far more accurate, entertaining, and cheaper method for both gamers and devs/publishers alike.
  3. @xzar_monty : sounds like you're purely an HD graphic player who needs high fidelity graphics to become vested in a video game. Is it fair to say you'd probably hate GTA San Andreas because of it's dated 3rd gen graphics? And prefer GTA V over GTA SA because GTA V has superior, pretty HD graphics (an non existent character development and short story) compared to past GTA games? Then what you said is 100% right. Deep RPGs like New Vegas are definitely not for you. Seriously, why did you even bother creating an account just to post that? Sounds like Fallout 76 would be a better fit for you. Or better yet, you should go check out Star Citizen..... https://robertsspaceindustries.com/
  4. Yeah I admit to being a little disappointed with the inablity to interact with most things in the game. From kitchen items, containers and bathrooms. Why not allow us to use the toilet (shown in one of the promotional videos recently before game release? An NPC was sitting on the toilet in one of these trailers. Allow the lack of personal hygiene from not showering and/or using the toilet to impact our charisma skill stat. Nobody wants to talk to a smelly stranger who hasn't washed for days lol.
  5. Ok then. Thanks for the quick feedback and follow up folks. You think you'd at least be able to craft, tinker and improve your armor with the tail feathers in some way. This is yet another reason for hoping the mod community can get into tinkering the game's code and address incomplete/missing features like this. All animal death lists should be consumable IMO. Especially when their descriptions suggest it. Canid meat is supposed to make some sort of food additive/binder when cooked/treated according to its description. Shame we couldn't interact with the kitchen appliances and use existing food reagents to transform the raw meat into that. In a sense, make some exotic beef jerky that would increase or sustain your health rating bar.
  6. I'm really hoping they'll pull another update to address this immersion and progress breaker soon. Just like they ended up doing for Dead Money DLC in New Vegas. There really isn't any reason NOT to allow us to continue playing in a sandbox fashion and/or complete side quests for achievement purposes after MQ TBH. This is another reason why I'm hoping the PC modding community will be able to get into the game code and address show stoppers like this soon.
  7. I'm here to complain about the OP complaining there are no CTD, glitches, quest breaking bugs or graphical anomalies 10h into the game. Furthermore, I'm also here to argue that the OP is arguing with incredulity itself, since this game is apparently what he believes PC gaming should always be. Finally, I'm here to complain about any complainers who insist on complaining about my complaints in this troll post. #THANKYOUObsidian
  8. Has anyone found a practical use for these. There are some NPCs who actually sell these as supplies. And give you the impression the meat is edible. But no functional ability to eat the meat exists. Has anyone found a use for the meat or tail feathers as yet? Is there another chem lab type station which has yet to be found? So we can craft medicine with it etc?
  9. Fallout 1 & 2 (they're the original creators of the fallout franchise NOT Todd Howard) Fallout New Vegas Neverwinter Nights Baldur's Gate Stick of Truth SWKOTOR Pillars of Eternity too much to list here. Go play any of these legacy titles and then share your discoveries by posting back here. as FYI, you could easily answer your own question. Google is your friend. One search hit this accurate list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsidian_Entertainment#Released
  10. You beat me to it. Like I said, doesn't appear deep RPs like this (or even shallow Bethesda designed ones like Skyrim and FO4) are the sort of games the suit the OP. I seriously doubt the OP is really a dedicated PvE gamer. His post is completely indicative of a PvP gamer who got bored with the Pew Pew fest that is CoD/BF and hacker cesspool that is GTAO. OP should consider becoming a fan boi for the dumpster fire that is F76. Sounds like OP would be in nirvana playing F76 tbh. Especially given the mindless bug infested grind, onging cheat player exploits, non existent replay value (thanks to lack of NPCs and delay of Wastelanders), crappy Nuclear Winter BR mode nobody really cares to play, and now featuring Private! servers (NOT), all which are poisoned by the toxic macro transactions of Bethesda's Atomic Store.
  11. So what you're bragging to everyone is that you completed ONE playthrough of the MQ? When the design of this game isn't linear AND you have several RP options to interact with NPCs? All of which may or may not lead to the same consequences of your actions? Are you even aware of the fact THERE ARE SEVERAL ENDINGS TO THE MQ OF THIS GAME? I really wonder why players like you even bother to fool yourself into believing you're into RP games the caliber that Obsidian make. What was your record time for "beating" Fallout New Vegas (assuming you even played it) with ALL it's DLCs btw? Just asking for a friend
  12. I'd say mods are about the only way to rectify any inconsistencies and omissions Obsidian lacked the time and resources to implement in the existing system. Hopefully the PC modding community will be able to accomplish this on the scale of a Chesko's Frostfall or RND food needs mod several months from now. Or perhaps Obsidian might be able to offer some guidelines on how to go about modding the game engine in the future. Or even enhance the feature in a later update
  13. I wish Obsidian had the time to add a fully complete feature needs system to environment and personal character survival needs. Environmental needs/response features like your PC character body temperature response to the harsh, cold and wet environment of Skyrim. Chesko's Frostfall & Campfire mods account for this. And then needs mods the likes of Imp's More Complex Needs or Real Needs & Diseases. Both of these mods make it necessary for your character to eat, sleep, drink on a daily basis. Overeating and under eating adversely affect PC combat readiness skills and malnourishment. Poor hygiene, untreated body/head injuries from combat with other NPCs, animals/flora and extended environment exposure increases the PC susceptibility to disease. Which can become fatal if not remedied through sleep, healing (by PC means or at a professional NPC healer, or by vanilla prayer at a shrine. Or even more complex religious mod using prayer to the Gods (if you have one installed). Other more complex mods like Private Needs gave the player a bladder and bowels so your Dovahkin had to do #1 and #2 on a daily basis (or suffer health issues like constipation etc) Lol. anyhow, I'm glad that Obsidian repeated the same features they did in New Vegas with the existing needs system in the Outer Worlds. Even though it's the most superficial level of a needs feature as food acts like medicine/stat boosters instead of actual means of nourishment), at least we can eat, drink and sleep to maintain stats. Too bad your PC can't use all the bathrooms or showers around the towns and on ship though. Would've been interesting to see if your PC could recycle their biowaste and/or any animal corpses they kill on a recycle module on the ship. Then sell --I mean hustle--the biowaste to the different corporations to make some money.
  14. Will you be getting it again when it comes out on Steam? I for one most certainly will. Best deal is to pay M$ only $1 for the first month of the PC Beta pass. Beat TOW in 30 calendar days. Then cancel your PC pass subscription and wait for TOW release on Steam. That way you only pay $1 USD to play TOW. LOL. That beats the cancer of EGS any day of the week IMO. But if you're the type of PvE gamer who enjoys smelling the roses like me, then continue paying at $4.99 USD per month afterward for PC pass. Waaaay cheaper than the XBX1 subscription at $9.99 USD IMO (besides I'm a PC gamer and only use XBX1 for console only titles like RDR). My guess is the most hardcore gamer fan boys will have TOW beat long before M$ PC pass intro subscription is up. LOL. Seems to be the cheapest and best resolution to not using EGS
  15. ^^ This 100% Bethesda's single player Fallout 3 & 4 = 20% LINEAR STORY LINE with ZERO PLAYER CHOICE, FORCED character builds, shallow MQ/side quests + 80% pew pew in an open world sand box. Obsidian's single player Outer Worlds = 80% NON LINEAR RP with 100% PLAYER CHOICE, CUSTOMIZED character build (that can change as story progresses) + deep MQ/side quests + 20% pew pew. In a world constrained by loading screens.
  16. Well you're entitled to your one man's opinion. I've rated it 8.5/10 so far. Not just for storyline, but LACK OF GAME ENGINE BREAKING BUGS WHICH BETHESDA IS REKNOWN FOR. Thankfully this time around, Obsidian devs WERE NOT under any contractual pressure from Bethesda to rush out another buggy New Vegas. Which is why the game is so polished. And understand that this game is NOT open exploration sandbox that Bethesda games are known for. So no Skyrim/FO4 wide as the ocean & deep as a puddle sand box questing. And the possibility for mods is still a possibility in the future. IMO, imagine what Obsidian would've been able to do had they had the budget of an alpha release game like Star Citizen. Or AAA budget that Howard had to make FO4. Would they have been able to produce an open world space driven sandbox the likes and scale of New Vegas? Very likely. A Newtonian flight model with PvE exploration and PvP spaceship combat? Possibly. Even more detailed NPC interaction and RP story line? Most definitely. That being said, I plan on taking my time to enjoy all the side quests and not blindly rush through the MQ. Just to beat the game in 10hr or less for bragging rights and/or the achievements. IMO The Outer Worlds is VASTLY SUPERIOR in the storyline/RPG/player choice aspect of anything Bethesda added to FO4 to date. And don't get me started on that cancerous macro transaction, PvP wannabe, BR virus infected dumpster fire that is F76 to date.
  17. If you picked the Food Additive Tester aptitude (which you can't change once you start the game even if you respec your stats) then this would've given your character a permanent +3% in all food duration. Same 3% stat increase for the beverage Service tech. Polygon has a nice summary list of them here: https://www.polygon.com/outer-worlds-guide-walkthrough/2019/10/25/20927274/attributes-stats-skills-perks-flaws-build-character-creation
  18. What are you talking about? You CAN eat, sleep and drink in all the modes. It's only in hardcore mode where doing all 3 of these is mandatory. You need eat/drink at least once a day. And restricted to sleeping in the bed in your ship. I'm currently on normal mode and haven't had any problem doing any of these. I do them on the fly whenever I feel like it (for RP) or need to (in combat/after combat to heal etc.
  19. Resolved. Please make access to critical game features like these more transparent and intuitive Obsidian! 1. DROP/HOLSTER YOUR WEAPON instead of having it pointed out all the damned time? 2. A hot key for inventory bars that store food/med aid items. So you can use them on the fly without having to open your PC inventory? We also need the ability to have #2.
  20. Mod support isn't high on the dev team list right now. But hopefully the devs will be seriously considering release of a mod suite tools down the road. Note that unlike Bethesda's outdated Gamebryo/Creation Club, Unreal 4 engine is a difficult engine to mod and work with. So it will be a challenge for the modding community to make mods for the game if at all.
  21. Please give us the in game ability to change our PC cosmetic look (ie hair, hair color, facial hair and makeup/scars) after the character creation menu Obsidian! Our PC can eat/drink/sleep and change their armor. But can't do something as simple as changing their cosmetic appearance? Being able to add scars, facial blemishes etc. besides makeup/facial hair as PC progresses in game would be so much more immersive. I thought the whole point of this game was about character choice? Please unlock the ability of this pre game feature for use in the game!
  22. You are aware the only other PC source will be Windows Store right? Timmy Weenie's cancerous canoodling doesn't go that far. Especially given Microsoft's superior relation to Obsidian v. EGS
  23. As a PC gamer, I was getting ToW on Steam until EGS destroyed my freedom of choice. Now looking to get it off Microsoft Store for PC. Just pre-ordered my PC copy on Windows store. Very happy to be getting a sweet double deal on release day since it's going to be free to play title list on XBX live
  24. same doomsday policy could be made for 100% of Bethesda games and especially since Morrowind/Fallout 3 i.e. since Todd Howard took over running the show for these 2 franchises at Bethesda. Don't get me started on the lying joke of a cesspool that is Fallout 76. btw: New Vegas was a horrific bug fest because Bethesda refused to give Obsidian an extra year to polish the game and work out the bugs.
  25. I will but on Windows Store only. If Epic finds a way to monopolize on that and completely shut out Windows store, then ToW publisher can kiss my $$$ goodbye for the next 365 days. Because this is complete bull****. I'm waiting an entire year before playing Metro. By then, we might get lucky and mods will be available for the game.
