Is now a good time to jump back into the game?=
Waiting is your choice but no game is 100% perfect. If that is what you are waiting for, could be a long wait. For me, I am not bothered by anything not working correctly. In fact, I would be hard pressed to name anything that caused me any difficulty in the game recently, I am on my sixth play through.

What would you play in this group?
The Chanter does have one nice feature. I played as a Herald once and the Chanter half always called in three Wurms to help the party right at the start of combat.

Thanks

Are we done with major patches?
msyoung replied to heldred's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I did not encounter that drake wing sound, it was normal. So either it has been fixed or it might depend on your game setup. I am playing Path of the Damned with a full party.

Ukaizo device crossbow
Okay, then I must congratulate the modder because he/she did a great job on it. It is not overpowered and break the game. I have some weapons that are part of the official game that are more powerful, especially great swords. These allow my wizard to stand behind the front line and do ranged attacks from relative safety.

Ukaizo device crossbow
That is a nice single hand crossbow. One of my companions is armed with two of them as superb weapons. He does pretty good damage.

Master ships
There are now master captain ships from all factions sailing about. Has anyone attacked them and do you get anything special from them?
- Finished Deadfire again... how about you?

Mega Boss Are nothing but wall of Hit Points
msyoung replied to toast5059595's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)They are a hard fight, but they are meant to be hard. The biggest reward is the ability to make a weapon or armor mythic. Arguably not very useful because you are pretty much at the end of the game when you are strong enough to fight them. I think the point of them is to get you out of your comfort zone when you fight them because what you have done for the whole game will probably not work here. You can beat them, I have, but your strategy needs to be different. And they are entirely optional to the game. Just there for the folks that want an extra challenge.

State of the game.
msyoung replied to Mihai's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I have played the game several times and not encountered very many bugs. The only one I can recall at the moment is that sometimes the game will crash and send me back to the game start menu or the desktop but I am blaming that on the couple mods I have included. If you are going to wait until the game is 100% bug free, that might be a long wait because no games are bug free. Some games are actually released with several game breaking bugs, thankfully Obsidian is not one of those companies.

A quandary permanently carrying venom tag
I had to send a saved game to Obsidian to fix. They did and returned the save in a couple days.

Difficulty choices question
msyoung replied to SweetMagooMagoodle's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The mega bosses will always be 3 skull monsters and whatever fighting method you used till meeting one won't work. You will need to devise a new strategy.

Need to fix an AI problem
I have a Spellblade (wizard/rogue) and the AI is set for the wizard half to be aggressive and the rogue half to be cautious. I set it this way so he would use his spellbook, but he always attacks with his weapons never the spellbook. Do I need to set something else to get him to fight with the spellbook. Do I need to arm him with a wand for instance?

Solved problem why my team was passive
I had asked a question a while ago why my team was ignoring my AI settings which were set for aggressive, yet they just stood there with three dots above them. I did not see a button on the lower left of the screen and that button overrides the AI settings. Once I set that to aggressive my problem was solved.

Favorite part of game
Who has a favorite part of this game? I do and it is kind of a silly one and not important to the story at all but it touches me every time. It is the story of the marooned folks that turn to cannibalism to survive. The part that gets me is the narrative about the first mate Elewys in the journal and her locket. The first time I read the journal entry I stopped for several minutes reading it over and over. I always make sure to do that scene and give the journal to the Watcher in case I want to read it again. I don't know why it affects me like it does, but it still does. Anyone else have a favorite part of the game?

How intrinsic to the story is Xoti and her quest?
msyoung replied to drithius's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Seraphen is usually the companion I drop after his quest is done but I just bought the expensive weapon at the gunsmith's shop in the Citadel so I will see what happens this time. I don't mind Xoti, her banter and flirting is amusing.

Connect Steam Account - What does it entail?
msyoung replied to Oter2k's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Are the scavenger hunt codes still a viable quest? The scavenger hunt was run before the game was released.

Connect Steam Account - What does it entail?
msyoung replied to Oter2k's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I downloaded PoE2 through Steam, which is where I get most of my games. I can start PoE2 with the game shortcut or from Steam. Steam is a useful game server because it will automatically install any patches or updates without you having to do anything, you also get an online backup at Steam so you don't lose all your game saves if something terrible happens plus if you buy the game through Steam it knows you did that so a reinstall is free (with all saved games). You can also get a discount sometimes when buying a game. How you get it after the fact I am not sure of. I would suggest installing the Steam software and create an account, then possibly have it search your computer for games that it knows about. Someone here probably knows how.

Why aren't the difficulty indicators even close to working properly?
msyoung replied to xzar_monty's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That is what I had always heard, BoW was for levels 14-16. I went there once at level 18 and that dragon was still a hard fight.

If you would change the Companions Classes...
You asked if Eder gets a pet, he does. That makes two pets. I don't remember if that comes with the last DLC or a Berath's Blessing.

Slayer Seeker Survivor Endings
msyoung replied to ilsendoodle's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)If you keep the soul of Porokoa you get to make one more mythic item. Not really a big deal this close to the end of the game.

Does dot damage still break stealth?
Character creation is a major part of this game, there is no absolutely perfect PC that fits everyone. Just the one that fits your game style, don't get hung up tweaking your PC or you will never get to play with that PC. If it is not happening the way you want, you can always restart the game with something different.

Path of the Damned effect
Thanks, that helps.
