  1. But you don't have to "pause and rush" every time. That's all in your head. Even if you go all-out on devouring it's perfectably manageable without pausing or otherwise trying to prevent the meter from moving. Of course, you may not want to stand and admire a beautiful sunset. But you don't have to rush at all. It's for stats, equipment that you have equipped (minus weapons) and the story in MotB assumes that it's the same character that made it through the NWN2 campaign, but there are no story choices you make in NWN2 that carries over to MotB.
  2. Obsidian actually patched in part of that AI in one of the patches, so you're basically playing with an earlier version of it if you have patched your game up if I remember correctly. Should do no harm to install the mod though it might make things a bit more difficult as well. If I play NWN2 I almost always use it, don't really remember how it's like without it.
  3. I quite like the PS1 era (and SNES) Final Fantasies with all their faults, and even though I'm not a great JRPG lover. FFIX in particular has a wonderful atmosphere and really beautifully done world.
  4. Probably not as AoD is done by people who had never created a game before, that do it in their free time and on top of that chose to do a game that is pretty damn complex. That said, indie-gaming is what it is. I don't think we'll see Dead State in the near future either. Even though Brian and Annie are veterans of the industry and the Iron Tower guys helping out are now a lot more experienced.
  5. Interesting. Hopefully we'll get some footage and more info on the game soon-ish.
  6. Trying to replay Skyrim. It's going... so-so. I do enjoy seeing the sights and dungeons (linear corridors that they are though) and I'm focusing mainly on that this time around as I didn't enjoy the questlines on my first playthrough. But just dungeon-crawling gets old fast as well. I get annoyed by the long ones. Not because they are long, but because they are long and often just one single track throughout the whole thing. Really wish they had opened up more paths in many of the dungeons. Still, it's much more fun than Oblivion and generally speaking a huge improvement on it.
  7. Finished a replay of this a few weeks ago and it was goddamn amazing.
  8. David Cage and Heavy Rain ladies and gentlemen.
  9. Was it confirmed before that the other project was using Onyx as well? If not, it's mentioned there.
  10. Started a replay of New Vegas... Sunrise in the the area around the Crimson Caravan company.
  11. I've been watching South Park more since this was announced. Just saw the episode where the Dog Whisperer is brought in to discipline Cartman. The scenes where Cartman gets dominated is freaking hilarious.
  12. I really wonder how they will handle dialogues. We know that we'll have a silent protagonist (great choice if you ask me), but I hope they'll provide plenty of dialogue options/branching ala classic RPGs. I think that would be one great way of tackling the humor of South Park in gameform as well, giving the player funny dialogue options. Just the option to jabber with Cartman if you choose the Jew class could lead to a lot of funny stuff if the player can "drive" some of the dialogue for example.
  13. I doubt Obsidian can confirm or deny using any particular characters at this point in development... But since Matt and Trey voices so much of the South Park cast, and that they are in charge of the story, I have a hard time believing they wouldn't put nearly every damn character that's appeared in the series in there. Whether as "important" characters or just side-appearances.
  14. Just finished up Planescape: Torment. What an incredible journey that is. It's too bad the Curst/Carceri/Baator sections kinda suck compared to everything else, but still... man, what a great game. Absolutely amazing. *golfclap* Dunno what to play now.
  15. Replaying Planescape: Torment. I can't say enough about how this game draws me in. Even after playing it before and obviously knowing the story, the twists and turns, finding out about your past identities, doing the Circle of Zerthimon etc etc... It's just excellent. And there are smaller touches that I just love... There is nothing more satisfying to me than revealing some important thing in the dialogue, hearing that "schiwwwwiiing" sound and seeing the huge amount of xp you just gained from being inquisitive and investigating things.
  16. I don't mind the lack of "banter" or direct companion interactions ala NWN2 or what-have-you. I think it works pretty well as is and keeps the action going. That said, a specific quest for each companion would've been nice and a good way to flesh them out without engaging in hours of just sitting around exploring the next dialogue option. Loved it in a game like Torment or MotB, don't think it'd fit in here.
  17. One big point against the game in my opinion is that you can just tell that it was designed for incredible ease-of-use. Linear corridors mostly, not much side-content (well, there is side-content but it's pretty much in the face of the player anyways), breadcrumb trails. It doesn't really give the player to really "maneuver" a whole lot in playing the game. Alpha Protocol had linear levels as well but there you were given a lot of choice in convos and reactivity to that. In DS3, all the dialogue stuff is still very light. It doesn't feel like it affects much of anything except the ending slides. I mean, I thoroughly enjoyed the set-up for most of the choices. The choices are well-written in themselves I think but it just lacks the real "weight". I don't care enough to really get into it. I also like the lore of DS3, there's some good stuff. But I never really cared for the source material and the world of Dungeon Siege in the first place so it still feels rather boring all in all. The combat is the real fun part of the game, and is something I quite enjoy. Still, that's also sort of a blend between action, Devil May Cry-ish combat with a slight seasoning of RPG. I really enjoy some of it but it's not something I will get a craving to do when I'm not playing the game. If I get a tactical RPG combat craving, there are games such as ToEE or Jagged Alliance 2. If I want more action-y combat there are games for that. DS3 feels like it sits so much in the middle of everything. It's like... it's a good game, and I've replayed it a few times now. Have enjoyed all the playthroughs I've done. But it doesn't stick with me much at all. Only OEI game/campaign where this has happened for me before is NWN2 (which, incidentally, is a far worse game/campaign overall). When I finish a game like AP (with all its faults and the fact that it's fairly short) or NV, I sorta think "phew, that was certainly hell of a ride". With DS3, I don't get much of a feeling at all. Hard to explain because.
  18. That's fun stuff, I wanna try it. Requesting Obsidian devs to pay for a planeticket from Sweden to Obsidian HQ so I can make this dream come alive.
  19. I haven't watched the later parts of the series but one of my fav moments is still Cartman singing 'Kyle's mom is a b*tch' from the first season. Really laughed my ass off when I saw that back in the day.
  20. I liked MoW. Felt like a mix of a fan-made module and professional expansion pack (which was the idea). Not that memorable overall but some pretty good ideas and diverging things (especially in the end-game) and some extremely challenging fights here and there. Should replay it one of these days. Still playing Darklands which I think I'll be finishing up soon.
  21. Think it was mentioned somewhere that it was the second half they're aiming for.
  22. Lucas is arguably at a disadvantage in this fight compared to some of the others because he has limited ranged attacks. If you have the Wind Shear ability, that will help immensely. I assume you mean the second part of the fight though? Other than that, I don't have really solid advice unfortunately. It's really important to keep your cool when she starts firing those columns of light up and not step into them. Rolling around is always useful but be on guard in this fight so you don't roll into a bad position and don't forget that you can block as well. I sometimes sorta screw myself by dodging so much that I sorta lose track of where I go and the momentum of the fight. Blocking is a sub-optimal way of avoiding damage compared to successful dodges but it can keep you from screwing yourself over at times as well.
