I agree Jaesun, it really is spectacular. I wish the other companions aside from Kaelyn had more lengthy "vignettes" as they are recognized there. Okku isn't even mentioned at all which is a bit sad. But yeah, it really is one of my favourite moments in gaming. It's *awesome*. And yup, the fight afterwards can be a bit of a pain due to placement. But if you manage to get Okku to the front line, he can pretty much tear them all up pretty easily, hehe.

Last batch of MotB screenshots. I've *really* been enjoying my replay of this, it's very high up on my favourite games list. What lies hidden in the waters? The same area as above, only in the Shadow Plane: Meeting the hags: I hear Thay is nice this time of year: Searching for answers on the Astral Plane: The beginning of the end:

Just saw this at the Codex: http://dragonage.bioware.com/characters/leliana Look at the goddamn loading meter. What the hell is going on?!

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig Lazarus Dig!!! Great song and album.

An amazing game. I'm not usually too keen on replaying very storyheavy games, but PS:T is a game that I still play quite a lot... Very awesome.

Blade Runner soundtrack - Main titles So very beautiful, Vangelis rocks.

If you take on those Vampires as soon as you can access the area though, it can be a damn good challenge. First time I played the game, I was playing a Rogue. So I went into the lower levels of the vault and picked those doors open. Got absolutely stomped. The Berserker lodge battle can be really hard as well. But yeah, unfortunately most stuff in Mask can be made very easy by just gaining a few levels and then unleashing Vampiric Feast. They were a lot better at setting up the battles to be more interesting thematically, but the challenge was still missing.

It wasn't that intrusive, true. But there have been many problems regarding how people couldn't get the game to run etc. In fact, it was one such issue that made the OEI NWN2 devs petition Atari to fix the DRM. Also, it's a godsend for us who do modding, because the initial loading time is so much faster now. I timed it, and it now takes 8 seconds for me to get to the main screen after clicking my nwn2 shortcut (I removed the intro movies as well). Very nice.

We are in full agreement sir. Also, here's a screenie from my tropical paradise in the Tropico 3 demo.

More Mask of the Betrayer. I'm always amazed at how good this game looks in comparison with the NWN2 OC. I'd rank MotB as one of the best looking games I know, and at the same time I'd rate NWN2 pretty low. And both are done in the same engine. Pretty cool. Sunset in Rashemen: One of the Dreamscape areas in Mask of the Betrayer: A Burning Grove in the Ashenwood forest: Another Dreamscape location: The gloomy Lake of Tears Garrison: A farm in the Wells of Lurue:

Just watched a Spanish horror movie called [Rec] (an american remake was released though I hear it's crap). I'd really like to recommend this one, best film I've seen in quite a while. It's a "zombie" film, and it's filmed in shaky cam style. I'm normally not a fan of that, but they really handled it well here. One or two scenes really scared the crap out of me. Very, very good stuff.

Playing a bit of MotB. Also, just played the recently released Tropico 3 demo (full game will be out in October I believe). Lots of fun if you like citybuilders and/or liked Tropico 1. Highly recommend that you try it out: http://forum.kalypsomedia.com/showthread.php?tid=1713

Yeah, October seems to be the closest we have to a release date atm. The store (here in Sweden) I have it preordered at have it listed at October 9 or 10 (can't remember which), and I saw another store had that date as well. I think Amazon UK also had this. However, I've seen it listed at October 30 also, so who knows.

Play it! Dragon Age doesn't have rainbow bears after all.

What is the best multi-player game ever
Starwars replied to Monte Carlo's topic in Computer and Console
I don't even particularly like FPS games that much, but I think I would have to say Battlefield 1942. The game is just fun as hell, and the dynamics between infantry, land vehicles, airplanes and naval power (not as much, but still) is just really cool. -
Motorhead - March or Die Awesome.

I don't much like the Warlock class (repetetive), but given that MoW starts at level 8, it'd put the class in the sweet spot of the Hellfire Warlock PRC which makes a bit more fun to be honest. Summon Baatezu is an extremely powerful ability when you first get it.

If you're looking at a balanced party, a spellcaster of sorts would be a good choice. The companions available are Rogue, Fighter and Cleric. A Druid with a dinosaur companion is a powerful class. and a good choice That said, I've taken a Rogue and Bard (both single class) through the campaign, and both worked well. The quest with the spider dude is rather hard in the beginning. When I first ran into it, I had only 2 companions and at starting level. It was really rough. Second time, I waited until I had all 3 companions, and that made it quite a lot easier. If you don't want to bring the Cleric along, then wait a few levels before tackling the quest.

What makes you excited about the game?
Starwars replied to RPGmasterBoo's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
There are actually quite a few things that I'm looking forward to in the game, as well as quite a few things that I don't particularly like. I'm still a bit worried that the game will feel overtly easy on the player (can get away with anything) since they don't want to punish any playstyle, but I'm definetely interested in the replayability. Different choices leading to different things is *always* considered a plus in my book. And while I actually would've wanted to see a more realistic take on things (apparantly they felt that was too uninteresting), I'm looking forward to seeing the characters in the game. They look like a lot of fun to interact with. Will be interesting to see the plot too since they've actually not revealed much about it at all. Finally, I'm glad to see that even though it's an action-RPG, they seem to layer the gameplay aspect a bit with stealth and gadgets. My main complaint with most action-RPGs is that the combat sections feels incredibly repetetive after a short while, and I hope OEI has provided enough choice and variations in the "action-y" parts of missions to make it feel dynamic enough. -
Went into an old NWN2 OC save I had around. Was just before forming the alliances in Act 3 and played through most of it today (finally a day with no school work or regular work). Gonna take the character into MotB. As much as I like to nag about the NWN2 OC, I think one thing they did pretty well was the build-up for the keep battle (which is most of Act 3). It does feel like war is brewing. Also, with the limitations on the engine, I think they pulled off the keep battle itself pretty well also.

I didn't have much problems with the game technically speaking (no CTDs for example), but mileage seems to vary. But some of the in-game stuff is just wonky. The whole faction war thing, which is supposed to be a major feature of the game, doesn't really work for one. I think the first game is better overall, and is much more atmospheric. Still, I think it's entertaining enough for that price.

I will have to agree with many of the comments here. It kinda seemed like Beth tried to do the middleground. Both doing the whole open-ended sandbox thing, as well as having teh epic story. And again, I have to say that I think the Fallout games should be much more the story of the player character, more than anything else. Of course we need a motivation to get the game going, but build the various communities and situations in the wasteland to be solvable in very different ways with different outcomes, and then draw upon that in the end and let the player know just how he affected the wasteland. Let the player character be the "star" (not necessarily a hero of course) of the game.

Been playing Call of Duty: World at War whenever I've found some time. Disappointing game. Call of Duty 4 was one of few games that managed to woo me with its explosions, scripted events etc etc, but World at War just feels like a cheap copy. None of the problems of CoD4 seems to have been looked at particularly much, it just feels churned out to bring in some cash. That said, I did enjoy some missions. But overall it's pretty bleh.

This year: Tropico 3 STALKER, Call of Pripyat Undecided if I'll like, but will probably end up buying: Alpha Protocol
