Yeah on the run equipping weapons or just general interface is slightly absurd at times becuase the interface uses the joy stick. Straight right on it picks one thing, right and slightly down picks something else, and then right but farther down picks another, then straight down is another. It can be real tricky trying to pick a weapon or tab in one of the northeast/southeast/visa versa becuase its like so temperamental, you move even a millimeter and your half way to blowing your brains out in real life becuse it takes like 5 minutes. thats why they have this nifty little thing for weapons built straight into the controls. Basically you can choose (not quite sure how i did it) what two weapons you want fast access to. You hit right trigger your weapon comes out, say a shotgun, you blow a few close range enemies and some guys from down the corridor are shooting at you. You hit the left bumper and your guy puts his shotgun away and busts out his assault rifle in like one smooth fast motion (or w/e you have prechoosen) and you kill dudes with little problems. Now something like picking skills, I have my overkill mapped to X but other than that I'm at a complete loss past just shooting people. Then again combat has made up about 15% of my game so far so I haven't learned much at all. I've been doing way more story/quests than fighting.

Dialog has been pretty unremarkable so far but it definitely hasn't been bad. Just nothing has really stood out to be particularly awesome or particularly cheesy/bad. The choices in what you can say are usually quite similar to each other but are still somewhat varied. Usually something like: Obvious good/neutral good/neutral kind of a meany/I'm slightly an a hole.

I made a post in the C&C spoilers section to your question if you still haven't gotten to that part yet.

Yes. You find fist, kill him and take his records. In that process you save this girl and she hands over the information that gets the council to see Saren as a bad guy. You become the first human spectre in existence and the black commander loses his position and you take full control of the Normandy. I haven't checked out the galaxy system yet but I've finished all the quests I could find within the Citadel (which is quite a damn a lot of them, and even more running back and forth). There's probably a few quests here and there that I've missed but I've talked to everyone I've come across thus far and so far I'm up around 5 hours on just the begining of the Citadel. Can't wait to explore the other worlds. Edit: If you've been playing for longer than 2 hours you should be pretty damn close becuase I got it quite soon and kept doing a bunch of quests while still being a spectre.

Mass Effect. Already have a post detailing some stuff in the Mass Effect Review thread but the game is very nice so far. Very sweet.

Haven't read entire thread and don't plan to. But I got the game and just finished played it after like a 4 hour run. Game is sick as hell. Loving the graphics and somehow loving the combat too. Doesn't bother me what so ever that its a shooter pretty much. I mean I do have some qualms with it. Like unsticking yourself from cover can get annoying when it's not immediate and I've yet to use any skills what so ever. I also haven't used my partners skills or really use them for anything yet since i haven't mastered the commands yet (haven't even figured out how to go into planning interface) but thats becuase I get in the battle and just forget about them completely. Battles are also usually so short that I can handle them alone anyways and they just stand back shooting/taking damage from me. Story so far is very reminiscent of kotor-goodness but much improved. A little repetitive going back and forth between people in citital station but some of the stories have been a little interesting. Citital station is hard to navigate through but you figure it out sooner or later. Right now I'm on my ship planning where I want to go into the wide ol' universe. Edit: Also on the subject of loading and stuff I really haven't had any problems what so ever. Elevator times are extremely exaggerated, doesn't mean they aren't long but it hasn't killed me or annoyed me at all. Also there has only been 2 or 3 times where I've come in counter with a small amount of lag. Loading happens sometimes during gameplay but thats only happened in two parts and wasn't bad at all. And the loading textures things I've noticed maybe 5 times and it was cleared up so quick it didn't really matter. So really all these things combined yeah they flaw the game just a tad but it's really so unnecessarily minimal to the overall experience of the game that it's almost irrelevant. Loving the game so far. Seriously a 9.5/10 game.

Sounds like one awesome thanksgiving with the exception of watching football all day. Replace that with eating turkey sammiches and playing mass effect and you got yourself a gosh darned deal.

I just got back from gamestop and purchased my copy. I most likely won't play it today becuase of principle. Not quite sure what principle that is but it just doesn't feel right. I gotta play it after wed since thats when I have accounting so I'm not a dirty slacker. I think I have ocd.

If i had a paintball gun or knew anyone with one and the motivation to drive out of vegas I'd defintely consider it since that would be pretty sweet to play with a forum member but alas I don't feel like getting raped then buried in the desert. It was a good plan Cant but I'd never fall for this one twice. :'(

I assume you mean within vegas. I'll meet you there comrade. Time and place? We don't actually play in Vegas, but I'll check on the location and post it here. If you want to join, I'm game. We need smaller, faster folks who can shoot big guys like me. It makes the game more bruising. Do you have gear? I was jk. I don't have any gear or anything and I've only played twice a long time ago. Fun stuff. Good luck man.

Girl Commits Suicide Over Internet Prank

Thats funny. They did everything right yet everything went wrong. Odd. When parents closely monitor and supervise their children they are sending a message, a bad one. You aren't communicating trust, respect, independence or virtue. When you stop a kid from making a mistake, he doesn't learn the lesson, he'll just try not to get caught next time. When you consistently treat a person like a child, how else do you expect them to act? It's simple psychology, you keep telling someone they are something, sooner or later they are going to start believing it. You treat your kid like a trained animal they are going to resent you. And just becuase I haven't had kids doesn't mean I'm not observant or wasn't a kid myself not to long ago. When I was a kid me and my friend were allowed to do whatever we wanted as long as we weren't inside watching t.v all day and we took advantage of this. Now what was the difference between me and him? Why did he turn into a drugged out loser who died in a drunk driving accident and me into a near straight A college student? Because my parents took an active role in letting me figure things out on my own becuase they did a good enough job raising me to be independent with common sense. His parents soaked up all his accountability and reinforced their naivety by believing he was a little angel. And your statistic on males committing suicide more than women. Congrats on taking spin 101. Since when does emotional instability mean suicide, it's easily possible to take your life with a clear and objective mind, not to mention your stats don't take into account attempted/failed suicides. Men are statistically much more likely to finish the job becuase they use things like guns whereas women do things like pills which can be treated easier than a gunshot wound to the head. I mean this is just a fact of life, men bottle their emotions and are usually more level headed. Women are dramatic and to be frank, insane. When was the last time you saw a grown man or even a teenage boy crying while in public? Need I mention Elen Degeneres and her dog? -
You dare confuse the great T.J Mackey with that greedy no talent hack? You should be ashamed.

You must not have seen the movie Magnolia yet because he was awesome in that.

Yeah gifted suicide is a mixed bag. I mean I can definitely see why someone would do it if they have nothing left in their life to keep living. Like you get in a car wreck, your closest blood relatives and a close friend or two perish but you are alive and you find out you will never walk again. Also your wife finds out your thingamajig will never work again and leaves you. Thats about time I'd take what remaining cash I have after the hospital repossessed everything I own and buy a brick of opium. Then ride the white dragon until you reach the heavens. Sounds awesome to me. -

No I'd say the moral of the story is don't shelter your kids. The parents sound like real nut jobs. Yeah it's sad when people die I guess but whose fault is it really? Girls are emotionally unstable but this one sounds real weak so it was either poor genetics, bad parenting, filled up on prescriptions or all three. Obviously what the adult did was pretty stupid on his part but seriously how in any universe does it sound even remotely reasonable to become emotionally attached and heavily amoured to someone you've never met and have only known for a short period of time over myspace? You guys are the ones being naive and childish placing blame on the adult. This is something that no one would ever predict and is a completely unreasonable conclusion. Edit: Read first post, I agree for the most part. -
The Place Promised in Our Early Days. Anime. Easily some of the highest quality artwork I have ever seen in my animu life. Some of the shots were insanely beautiful, sometimes simple, sometimes detailed, either way bad ass. But alas as with games, graphics come at a price. While I have no problem with character/story driven movies which is evidenced by my obsession with Spirited Away this movie just didn't quite strike my fancy as much as I'd like it to. Characters were nice enough but I didn't click with the plot that turns into a multiuniverse crazy dream/technology insaneness. Still a little confused from some parts within the movie. Seemed like quite a few plot holes or just side plots that never get elaborated. I mean yeah I have the attention span of a small retarded dog but I wasn't surfing the internets or anything during the movie so it was genuinely confusing or maybe it was just heavily ambiguous. The movie was tranquil and sometimes somber but a pretty chill watch. I'd only expect to be wowed by the art and not the story but: 8/10

I wish I could write for them even though I know close to nothing about star wars and I don't particularly like mmo's but I'd make them proud with a very enchanting journal detailing the escapades of the familiar young twilek forced to dance for the boss to repay her debt. Course there'd be a twist and she'd actually have a wiener and things would just get even crazier from there.

The Departed. Man this movie ages extremely well. The first time I saw it I wasn't impressed but every time I've watched it since it has been better than the last. I love the attitude of the characters and the script writing/plot is absolutely superb. When I first saw it I was dissatisfied with the ending but more and more its become tragically beautiful but everything gets settled. I really do love this movie. Most likely top 5 material, definitely top 10. 9.7/10

Fracture. I wasn't exactly in the mood for a criminal/psycho thriller but it was a decent little movie. Loved the house Hopkins lived in and the twist was a little clever but as a whole I wasn't entirely impressed. Characters were just faces and the plot seemed kind of shallow. Hopkins has just been played out too much and type casted as a psycho killer. Going to give this one a 7.5/10

Lol yeah at first I tried the bumpers and I was doing really good but still not making it. So then I stayed by the ferris wheel and was finally able to beat it. Also I wanted to mention the flagrant killing of wild russian dogs. Pretty brutal but no remorse when you break their necks because they rip your throat out. Right now I'm in the strokin mah
