I don't think I can deal with this one. Atleast in terms of game mechanics and the d20 system, Hades had a valid argument. In this case it just seems like he's complaining for the sake of keeping his reputation as a complainer. I personally figured this feature would be a welcome one to most people who complained that KOTOR didn't seem responsive enough based on your decisions. Now that it's implemented and expanded on, he's still complaining. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess you simply don't get what I am saying. WHen you act, the game reacts. WHen you do not act, the game needs to go on in story. That is what I am saying. The PCs should not be the center of the universe.

You haven't watched much good sci fi have you, Ghostie. Sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action. For example there was this series of Episodes of Doctor Who called Warrior's Gate, which marked the end of the E-Space trilogy. The Doctor and crew were trapped in a temporal and spacial void and they were not alone. The void was a trap and in danger of collapsing so the Doctor and his companions set forth to get them out of this trap. In this trap was a slave ship and a very demented captain. Well, The Doctor and his friends set forth to thwart the captain and free the slaves, but by doing so they risked being trapped forever and killed when the void collapsed. The seeds that would have led to their freedom has already been set so to ensure success the Doctor only needed to do was nothing. Basically if the PC chooses to do nothing and do his own thing the events of the story continue without him or her. If the Sith are going to conquer the galaxy they aren't going to stop and wait for the PC to show up to stop them. If the PC decides to do something else other than choose Light or Dark side and snubs his nose at teh Jedi and Sith, they aren't going to wait for the PC to change his mind. The world needs to go on, thusly making a more dynamic setting.

So we have yet another CRPG that sets the world around the PC instead of being independent of the PC, which is more realistic. Its nice to see that the PC is so invovled withthe story line but in order to increase the immersive factor the game needs to act independently of the PC if the player chooses to do nothing. Inaction is as much important as action, especially in a dynamic story telling envinronment such as RPGs.

KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?
Judge Hades replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
man, then you missed out on of the best dungeon designs in a CRPG ever. Durlag's Tower was the best. Too bad Watcher's Tower was complete shat. BG 1's expansion was and Add in style, meaning they added material into the main main game. SoU and HotU was mostly Add On styled, meaning they added on a whole new adventure and most of the new material won't work in the main OC. -
Man, I love these forums. Went from seasonal greetings to genocide.

Yep. Eve and Adam had no daughters.

I call it Karmic retribution, but I don't believe in previous lives and that sort of bull, but it does indeed show that people need to take personal responsibility for themselves. Bhuddism takes it on a spiritual level, but I apply that on a more physical and mundane level. If your life is crap you can only blame yourself. If you don't like it, change it.

It started because I hate Christmas.

KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?

Depends on what the content is. SoU and HotU were not a waste of money. Neither was TotSC. ToB was indeed a waste of time and money. -
KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?

KotOR series wouldn't lend themselves to that style of expansions. They would have to be like BG expansions. -
I am an amateur Theologist. Religious Studies was my minor at the University. Of all the religions I have studied I hate Christianity the most, though each one have certain level of dislike except for Bhuddism. I just can't hate a bhuddist.

When I die I am expecting oblivion, nothing, cease to be. There is no afterlife, only death and finality.

It doesn't matter. If he doesn't exist then life goes on. If he does exist he is irrelevant now and life goes on.

Its more likely that Mary was raped by a Roman soldier, and Joseph made up this whole Angel and God thing so she wouldn't get stoned for having sex out of wedlock and with another man.

In my view a human being is a human being, no one human being is inferior or superior to another human being. They all suck.

KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?
Judge Hades replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If they do make a third I do think they should use the same base engine, in order ot keep consistancy, but make considierable upgrades. Similar what Obsidian is doing to NWN 2. Same base engine, but use a secondary engine for the graphics system. If there is going to be a KotOR 3 it better be done either by Bioware or Obsidian. -
He's your saviour, not mine. I have no Heaven to strive for and no Hell to fear. I came into existance because my mother had sex with my father. "

Arcade game sequences have no place in a CRPG, but the swoop races would have been more interesting if there was actually more than one person on the track.

Hmmm... Gore Mod... Maybe he'll win this time. -
A guy at the IGN message board has the game.

I'm staying. (tee hee) -
Whebn there is somethign good to say about the game I do, but most of the time I leave that up to the gushing fanbase. I rather be the one that keeps the developers egos in check. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Too many gushing fanbois and gamer gurlz causes swelled heads and swelled egos on the part of the developers (i.e. Bioware). So far Obsidian seems to lack that and with luck they keep it cool, or in the words of Chris. A. "Keeping it real." If I seem to be an unreasonable lout, keep in mind that is my goal here. To balance out the fanbois. :D
