Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
You would be playing it that many times anyway.

Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
Its about time a game company puts forth that effort. Its good to know and I hope you continue that in future games.

20 Levels
No need to. http://www.svgames.com/downloads-wotc-alternity.html You can get all the major Alternity material here at a low low price or you could use kazaa and see if you can find the PDFs there.

Dog eat dog.
If its stupid, but it works then its not stupid. :D

Dog eat dog.
No. You see while the ultimate forces of good and evil force users battle on a planet below I would send multiple warheads of nanotechnological grey goo to consume every molecule on the planet . One large glorious nano-colony ripping apart the very fabric of creation awaiting a signal from me to create a battle platform of immense power to conquer the known worlds. The Force is nice, but nanites are better.

I choose me.

What would you do, if....
Depends on the planet. If it was Earth I would do it in a heart beat.

Then you are ignorant and need to grow a clue, like I said many posts ago.

K2 Story Bigger Then "I Am Your Father" Moment?
A reasonably intelligent character with at least a 14 Intelligence and 14 Wisdome should have been able to surmise the truth. The PC isn't an ignorant buffoon, unless you set ihis or her stats as such.

K2 Story Bigger Then "I Am Your Father" Moment?
There was enough foreshadowing and discussion withthe council, how Bastila acted, and things people said around you that one could reasonably guess.

Maybe she likes jerking.

K2 Story Bigger Then "I Am Your Father" Moment?
That is what I wanted to do with Malak when they finally told you that you are Revan, but no. Bioware had to force the player to play his or her character as an ignorant buffoon.

Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
Enjoyment is not the issue for me. I'm sure I will if I get this game, but there are more things I look for in a game than just pure enjoyment. I'm weird that way.

K2 Story Bigger Then "I Am Your Father" Moment?
I hope that we get to that moment of horrorific realization of the truth and be able to say, "So what." Darth Vader: Luke, I am your father. Luke: So? Darth Vader: Come join me. Luke: Why should I join you? You never came to my birthday parties. Darth Vader: Well, I... Um, I was busy. Luke: Yeah, so busy conquering the galaxy that you cannot come to your only son's birthday party? Darth Vader: Well, I... *growls and cuts off Luke's hand* Luke: OW! What did you do that for? Darth Vader: It seemed a good idea at the time. Luke: Just for that I am going to jump. Darth Vader: So?

Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
Well, it moseso fits how I do my own writing. When I create characters for a sotry I write up their complete background, list skills and talents each one can use, the set up a scenerio which they act and react to. I basically role play the character and how much "influence" that character has to the other characters within the story framework will often shape the story. Sort of free form writing which I do and sounds very similar to the Influence system that Chris described, but chennelled in a different way.

I am pretty much enjoying this discussion, Satasn's childish outburst aside.

Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
I look at boththe story aspects and the game rule mechanics equally, for both are important in a CRPG. If they weren't Obsidian might as well just publish KotOR 2 as a novel instead of a CRPG and be done with it.

Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
Well, you are 19, which I consider still juvenile age. I remember I was 19 and well... Lets not get into that. :D

What do you expect from a Bioware game?
-
Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
Nice use of the asterisk, Satasn. I commend you on your ingenious whit. Ghostie, they changed more than 60% of the rules right off in the first KotOR and have shown nothing that they are going to scale that back. If they used more skills, convert the force system as well as the vitality/wound system, and the feat style of the SW d20 game then I probably wouldn't be complaining as much.

Designer Ramblings: Influence
You know, I am almost tempted to play a LS character in KotOR again, but choose all the rude responses to all the companions.

KOTOR II: How to Talk Dirty and Influence People
Okay, that's disturbing.

Designer Rambling: Returning Companions and Levels
That is why I only wish to see 70% compliance and not 100%. 100% would be downright impossible. 70% however is very possible and has been done in the past.
