I think he means to retake the course, Grommie. I remember my first semester at ISU. I should never have taken that 400 level philosphy class after being out of school for about 5 years. Yeah, getting a bad grade is definitely a kick in the crotch, but you refocus and get yourself back onthe horse. Also when you do retake the course make sure you take it with a different teacher. First time I took Native American Literature I got a D. The professor was a smug git teaching his own work which meant there was only one interpretation. Second time I took the class I got a A-. The proffessor on the second time around was teaching different authors and actual chosen literature that was interesting and informative.

KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
Judge Hades replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
So, one year development. Again. Oh yeah, that went well the first time. Oh, yes it did. Listen sister, if LA isn't going to give KotOR 3 a decent development time of 2 to 3 years then it is just a waste of code. Also Obsidian has two projects working right now. NWN 2 and PNJ and PNJ is not a sequel nor even using the Odysessy Engine. KotOR 3 is not being made by Obsidian. Get over it. -
If I am playing a reasonably intelligent character, lets say Intelligence 14 with a WIsdom 12 or higher, and is given all the clues in character I don't see why my reasonably intelligent character cannot figure these things out on his or her own. Now if I had a character with an 8 Intelligence and a 6 Wisdom, then now. The character would be a little of the dull side to figure them out. It is a role playing game after all and I don't see it as being too much to ask for.

That would be lame and silly.

Just because the missiles typically have nuclear warheads doesn't mean that nuclear warheads is what would be used. Also I would only target countries which hold terrorists that made attacks on US citizens on US soil.

Sorry, but level 21 and above is the pervue of NPCs.

I found Yoshimo's surprising, but after that I knew what to look for in a Bioware traitor story and it just gotten more repetitive and more obvious. I don't like obvious betrayels because if it is obvious and I figure it out then I shopuld be able to role play that obviousness. That goes with the major plot twist in KotOR 1. It was so freaking obvious who Revan was and I would loved to role play that out. Malak: You are Revan. Revan: So, I figure that out yonks ago. Get with the times, man. Bastila: You knew you are Revan all this time? Revan: Nah, but you and the Jedi council were as transparent as glass. I mean common already, I might have had amnesia but I am not stupid. Malak: No matter, I will kill you. Revan: Yeah right. Some one with your taste in hair style is going to defeat me. I am Revan, remember. Blah blah blah. Seriously. Bioware twists and betrayels weren't be so bad if they weren't so obvious in their foreshadowing or allow the player to role play his character knowing that it is coming and prepare for it. Tolkien was an entertaining writer. A good writer, maybe, but he's no John Milton.

But at least he has a lizard.

Thing is there is no significant build up in Bioware games.

Cinematic dialog is dialog that feels it comes from a movie. If you notice how movie dialog flows then actually listen to how people speak you will find it quite different.

The thing is some games are becoming more and more cinematic. KotOR 1, KotOR 2, and Jade Empire for example. Dialog that seems to be cinematic would fit that style but at the same time it shouldn't sacrifice good role playing and good role playing options. Also traditional archtypes are good if you are designing a traditional game. If not then using the archetypes would be tiresome for the player. When designing a story, or a campaign, I take into account the whole setting and map out the major aspects of the campaign from the beginning point and the ending point. If the cinematic approach works then I shift the houserules just a tad and create NPCs and allow PC options that cater to that approach. If more traditional gaming is needed I go that round. Experimental gaming are good for short campaigns but can be equally rewarding. Before you do any sort of writing for the dialog or what key events you have inthe campaign or the game you need to cement what you want to accomplish and the style in wish to have. At least that is what I do. That is probably what would probably frustrate me the most but at the same time bring such exhileration. Campaign design by commitee, which is basically how I view what game designers such as yourself and the team does. You settle upon the overall theme of the game, the setting in which it is in, and build nested spheres in which tells a cohesive story that must feel consistant in style but varied in content.

Yes, but did you give him time to respond. Wait at least two to three days, numberman. This place isn't McDonald's.

I exist therefore I am sarcastic.

I am so glad they cut the epic levels crap out of the game.

There was an actual plot twist?
-
Sorry, but after a game has been out a year its free reign on things like that. At least it is to me.

That is fine point of view if you are an American but different countries have different points of view of what is right and what is wrong. -
I don't have any personal issues with you BW, though you do have some screwed up political views. Then again, so do we all.
