If you use them but they aren't part of the core d20 System. EDIT: On alignment I just don't really like it. It is too restricting. That is why I prefer Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved over baseline DnD. Man, I would love to see that converted over in NWN 2.

An elven paladin is stretching it a bit because there are no Lawful Good elven dieties. I am not saying they can't be but there would have to be a good role playing reason behind it in my opinion. A lawful nature isn't natural to an elven mindset due to their culture, Realmsian speaking of course.

Gemcrafting is for drawves and elves are the wizards. Gnomes still have illusionary aspects with their bardic spells.

I have done that quest with several different characters and never had that problem. Did you patch it and which mods do you have. Sometimes a mod causes conflict in the game.

Sean Bean, Linda Carter, Patrick Stewart, and Terrance Stamp were the big names, but in truth they would have been better off with more numerous voice actors than a few big names. That I can agree with.

Terrance Stamp is pretty good.

There is more to bards than just singing and epic poetry. They are also the source for a lot of knowledge and lore. Bards are the jack of all trades. Sure they can sing, but they are really a mish mash of fighter, rogue, and wizard, but a master of none of them. If you want a bard just to be about singing you need to use the Monte Cook bard and not the standard bard in the PHB.

Bard is the gnome's favored class in 3.5. In fact it fits them better than any other class there is in the game.
