  1. About freaking time.
  2. It wasn't successful in Lionheart, Fallout Tactics, or FOPOS (though FOPOS was probably SPECIAL-lite). They already tried it in two games (and a third depending on your POV) and neither worked though the real time aspects in FOT was better implemented than Lionheart. As long as they put in a turn base option in FO3 they can also put in real time as well, but I have doubts that they will do that and implement it well. You know though, I would love to see Fallout 3 use the Silent Storm engine. :D
  3. Real time combat is hardly innovative and it has already been proven that real time and SPECIAL just do not mix.
  4. This is just wrong but expected.
  5. You just need to focus on what you liked about the person, internalize the grief, and and channel the energies it produces in some manner. By the time the funeral took place I was finished with my grieving.
  6. My problems with Lionheart that it was real time and the combat sucked for it. If they kept the SPECIAL rules turn based it would have been a lot better. Also they tried to cram too many historical figures in one place, Barcelona. I do agree that the concept itself was sound but the execution could have been better.
  7. If you really believe that then more power to you. It is a legitimate POV for you.
  8. That it does. Lockdown time. Oh yeah forgot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :'(
  9. Possible Fallout 3 screenshot!
  10. I was pretty close to my grandmother. I was pretty much the only grandkid that would visit her in the nursing home. When she died I went on a very very very long walk. Walked about 10 miles just thinking of her and all the things she had done in her life. Pretty much did the same thing when my step-grandfather died a few years earlier.
  11. Hmmm... Prozac....
  12. They kind of remind me of the old DnD cartoon. When going through them I half expected a screenshot of Venger popping up.
  13. No but he has a point. Dragonshard is a lot closer to being an RTS then an RPG. I remember playing the demo and finding I couldn't complete it because it couldn't seem to hold my interest long enough. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It has nothing to do with FOPOS. Discuss Dragonshard. Sheesh.
  14. So stop baiting. Besides it does have sequences in which you have a small party of adventurers trying to get through an maze like area so Dragonshard does have a traditional dungeon crawling aspect to it.
  15. You are derailing the thread, not me, Lare. This thread is not about FOPOS.
  16. It is a RPG. RPG Strategy. You have Action CRPGs, traditional CRPGs, FPS CRPGs, and well Dragonshard is a RTS CRPG.
  17. I don't particularly like RTS games but this look interesting enough to give it a try.
  18. Basically, yes. The only thing that DDO had of Eberron were the Warforge and location names. Beyond that it was just vanilla DnD, which it didn't even get that right, with the Eberron label to sound cool. It was pretty damn pathetic. From what I have heard of Dragonshard it is closer to the setting style in terms of player races, technology, and themes.
  19. An optimisitic nihilist.
  20. Dragonshard is a type of artifact within the Eberron setting. My only exposure to Eberron was that stint with DDO which was crap. My suggestion is to aquaint yourself to the setting and if it appeals to you then go for it.
  21. I would suggest renting it instead of buying it.
  22. I am trying to be as civil about this as possible. I see their POV quite clearly and I have accepted their views works for them.
  23. I gave my opinion on FOPOS then I was attacked for my opinion and you have continued your attacks while I state my views quite clearly and concise. It is you people who cannot seem to accept my views on the subject matter and thusly when I refute your claims that your expectations in games are not mine you simply won't accept it. Your viewpoints work for you and that is great and I am not trying to convince you otherwise. You are right for yourselves but I am right for myself.
  24. Fallout is a setting and has its own rules system that governs that setting, therefore comparable to other games that use the same name. I take rules and setting in consideration first, then style and presentation. Nick: Silly for you and Alan, that is true but for me not so. If you cannot accept that difference between us then there is no further point discussing this matter with you.
