*looks sheepishly* Dungeons and Dragons Online and Dungeon Siege 2. I like my fantasies to be in dungeons.

Slowly but surely...
Of course it is but doing the impossible is what gives life meaning.

Slowly but surely...
Yeah, I found a job. Overall it doesn't pay a whole lot. $8 an hour standing behind a counter doing minimal cleaning and restocking for 10 hours a night, four times a week, but I am focusing all my free money on my computer. I want a system that in 5 years time still very viable.

Thanks for the link.

I am aiming for a PC that I won't have to update for 3 to 5 years. You make a good point, Withteeth, about the video turner card. I might consider that route. Thanks.

Lost in transition?
When an outsider dies on the prime material or any plane not his or her plane of origin it is banished to hits plane of origin for about a century from the plane he just died on. When an prime dies his/her soul travels to the outer plane conducive to his or her alignment as a petitioner. If an outsider dies on his home plane he or she is destroyed permanent. If a petitioner dies, regardless of location, it dies permanent and its essence joins the plane's ambient energy.

Zelda sucks. Link smiles.

What are you playing now....
I am currently running through Dungeon Siege 2. A rather basic hack and slash and so I haven't seen anything impressive about it yet.

Geforce 7900 out now!
I have never had any problems with Nvidia or ATI. All their drivers and cards work fine for me.

Slowly but surely...
Okay, I got myself a fairly basic computer. x700 pro 256 meg RAM 4 x 256 meg DDR 184 pin RAM Sound Blaster X-FI soundcard 6.1 Logictech Speakers Athlon 64 Sempron 3400 160 gig harddrive 80 gig hard drive DVD Burner The Sound Blaster X-Fi is a very nice sound card and my speakers get a good work out out of them. I am slowly getting myself a new system and with each paycheck I plan on getting a new upgrade for the bugger til the only things left to upgrade is the case, motherboard, and CPU. Now I am wondering if the next up grade should be my RAM, which I want a solid 4 gig of RAM, or should I save up a paycheck or three to get a 500 gig internal hard drive. What do you guys think? The end result I am aiming for is: X1900 All in Wonder 4 x 1 gig DDR 184 pin RAM Sound Blaster X-FI soundcard 7.1 speakers Athlon 64 FX-60 2 x 500 gig harddrives in RAID DVD burner All in a full tower hooked into a widescreen HDTV.

Is this an RPG ?
I think that as technology advances and as gameplay goes with it there is going to be more and more merger of genres. I wouldn't be one bit surprised that in 10 years that the break down of computer games won't be RTS or CRPG, but more along the lines of themes such as Mystery, Sci Fi, Fantasy.

I need some Sci-Fi suggestions
Best Science Fiction series I have read: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/044660515...5Fencoding=UTF8 In my educated opinion (I do have a degree in literature by the way) Peter F. Hamilton's Night's Dawn Trilogy rocks and I would highly reccomend it. Also you should read some of the works of William Gibson. He is also a fine author if you are looking for material that is near future instead of far future. As for movies/television series I reccomend: Twelve Monkeys (best time traveling sci fi film ever) Firefly/Serenity Battlestar Galactica (the remake) Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury

Blu-ray = more than just the game?
I think it is a very cool idea. I always like watching the behind the scenes featurettes. Hell, I think I have seen more behind the scene material than actually watching the movie. The LotR particularly.

Geforce 7900 out now!
I haven't had any problems with them on my system. Frankly I have had a fairly stable system with my ATI card than I did with my NVidia card.

Is this an RPG ?
I would count it as a hybrid CRPG, but a CRPG nonetheless.

New Games... Dated Gameplay
One of the main reasons why I would want a Z axis in NWN 2 and Dragon Age is that if I am going to play a rogue I would like to go from roof top to roof top, climb in a second story window, pilfer some trinkets, leave from the same route and have a roof top chase from the guards.

New Games... Dated Gameplay
Taken individually they aren't all that impressive but as a whole it does increase the imersion just a bit. I think that an increased immersion factor is definitely a gameplay issue. If the game doesn't draw you in you don't play it.
-
New Games... Dated Gameplay
It depends on how much impact a particular feature has on the core gameplay.

What new games are you looking forward to?
I am focusing on my PC right now.

What new games are you looking forward to?
I am considering getting Dungeon Siege 2 or Guild Wars to hold me over til NWN 2 but I think I might just leech off those 14 day trials of all the MMORPGs out their instead.

New Games... Dated Gameplay
I am still waiting for a CRPG that has full horse combat and mounted archery as an option. *sniff*

Post your desktop!
Tons of stuff. Mostly television shows I don't have the time to watch on TV or they just aren't available for show in the US. What can I say? I prefer UK television programming over the US television.

What new games are you looking forward to?
Never played Gothic 1 but Gothic 2 sucked majorly. I plan on getting Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights 2 but beyond that I don't see any other games I am looking forward to for 2006. Dragon Age will be more than likely released in 2007 or 2008.
