One of the things people who do these shows need to learn is when a show reaches the end of its course they shouldn't try to drag it on beyond that point. You start a new sew series with a new theme which may or may not have actors from the old series. Such as they could have ended SG-1 that last season where Richard Dean Anderson's character retired and focused on Stargate Atlantis. SG-1's story was complete, time to move on.
