When I buy a game I buy it based on what the developer puts into it, not mods. I didn't buy BG for Dark Side of the Sword Coast, I didn't buy Neverwinter Nights for Dreamcatcher, and I am not going to buy Neverwinter Nights 2 for any mod.
When I like a game I go into every nook and cranny. Volourn, I am the guy who spent 400 hours playing Morrowind and I still haven't done the main quest.
Well, the shortness of the NWN 2 OC has pretty much killed any desire for the game. I won't be buying a 20 hour CRPG any more than $10 to $20. I don't care about the MP or the Tool Set.
Volourn, that is tiny compared the number of times I replayed BG, BG2, PS:T, Fallout, and Fallout 2, which I have replayed 30 to 40 times each.
In any case, NWN 1 is irrelevant to the shortness of NWN 2.
I blame both Atari and Obsidian. Both the publisher and the developer are equally responsible for the game. I remember when the Black Isle folks said BGDA was going to take 20 to 25 hours to beat. I did so in 12 on hard. So if Feargus is saying this is a 20 hour game then it will take me 10 hours to beat. Of course they will make the game so that the player would experience almost every level, like Bioware did, so 20 levels in 10 hours.
Yeah, like I really want to play that.
20 hours? What a disappointment. I thought Obsidian was better than that. I guess not. Well, there goes my enthusiasm for the game. So, does this mean its a bargin bin game? I think so.
Okay. this game is seriously messed in the head. I just closed my second Oblivion gate and it was a decent challenge to me so no complaints from there but just a short distance fromthe gate was an inn. In this Inn I got a quest to find stolen potatoes. STOLEN POTATOES! I am saving the world from hellish demons and now I am going out to find a potato thief.
I find the thief. AND HE NEARLY KILLED ME! A freaking uber Ogre! I had a tougher time recovering potatoes than closing an Oblivion gate?!?!?!?!?!
20 hours in and only 4th level. I love this game.
I didn;t particularly like 9 but 7, 6, 5, 4 were cool and gee, last time i checked combat wasn't done in FP view in those games.
WC 5 was a decent start over point and I think they did a good job of it. WC4 was the best in the series.
I have gotten that error to and Bethesda is working on the corrupted save problem with their patch, if memory serves. I normally make multiple saves at multiple points on a unpatched game. Its just safer that way.
Have you made a back up copy of your save games then do a reinstall? I did that and haven't had a problem since. I also did a deep clean of my drivers and replaced them with newer versions.
