  1. KOTOR 2 is already #4 on Steam. I can see TSLRCM hitting #1 on moddb.
  2. I forgot all about those. I didn't even use them in my last run. Edit: I hope this answers the movie question. Instead of trusting my eyes to gauge resolution, let file sizes do the talking. Edit2: Confirming sound as well. Larger file sizes and just to double check I downloaded the HD music patch. Same file sizes as Steam download. Edit3: First attempt at running Steam KOTOR 2 with TSLRCM not very optimistic. My computer shut down reporting a serious error on recovery. Second attempt much more succesful. Game launched without problem. Anyone care to tell me the first thing I should notice to confirm TSLRCM is working?
  3. Now if only Steam would host those kinds of mods like Desura and Beamdog.
  4. I'll try and test it out tonight if nobody beats me to it.
  5. KOTOR 2 finally released on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/208580/ Wonder if it will make the top sellers today.
  6. Just heard about it myself. Glad to see.
  7. I wonder if WB would be willing to license out Superman for an RPG.
  8. The Sigh Warrior. New class for the neutral faction. Class story is that he's a Jedi Knight that fell from grace, but got bored and stopped falling halfway down. He has Force Shrug as a signature move.
  9. I think I've been told about that, actually. Or maybe I'm confusing it for a later Bounty Hunter plot that I was told about.
  10. Well, it has Brian Fargo at least. He's the former CEO of Interplay. And Matthew Findely was at Interplay too, but I don't know in what role.
  11. The website says it was updated on the 15th. And their Facebook page has stuff from the 14th. If there'd been anything interesting involved in the Black Isle label resurfacing, we should have at least seen a countdown by now. If not an actual press release.
  12. Only in KOTOR and parts of the EU. The movies didn't present it as a spectrum like they did, with light at one end and dark at the other. Notably, the movies never mention "light" at all.
  13. Judging by what he says, it won't happen. He's far more interested in an Obsidian kickstarter than just a planescape kickstarter.
  14. I don't see how granularity is provided by the limiting element of the system you describe. Granularity would be provided by implementing all the extra options such a system would require alone. If you're going to spend time implementing the option to maim a bad guy, just let the option be there. I really don't see why it should be dependent on previous acts without some direct causal effect.
  15. I'm not ignoring you. I just have no capacity to care about iOs games.
  16. I only made 15 minutes of gaming today. It's madness!
  17. IIRC, in one of the epilogues in Origins there were hints that Morrigan had become court mage in Orlais which hinted to the continuity of the subplot involving "GodChild" she may have conceived with the Warden. The only epilogue that had that one was specifically the one where she didn't have a child. They feel free to ignore epilogues anyway. I can see wanting to play the warden again if Morrigan shows up. In that context it makes sense.
  18. When people talk about using console commands to resolve problems, my first thought is always that their use of console commands probably caused it in the first place. Was Dxun the first time you ever used the console? And did you try other remedies before you started using the console?
  19. Finished Book of Unwritten Tales. Not as good as I'd hoped. The ending is pretty anticlimactic, too. But I liked how they handled puzzle logic. Still had problems with pixel hunting. And the humor was decent, not exceptional.
  20. Made a resolution yesterday. 10 o'clock every night, I have to stop playing games, and start writing. That's not a lot of time dedicated to writing, I will admit. But knowing myself, if I find a good stride, it'll take over a weekend. If I force myself into it, I'll spend more time pacing than being productive.
  21. That ship has sailed, my friend. We'll never play the Warden again. May I ask why that's an issue for you? I could understand wanting customization like the Warden, but why specifically the Warden? I guess that the only thing that would keep me going back to the series would be closure. Wrapping up all the cliffhangers from Origins, or else when I see the characters I still have the same view of them that I did while roleplaying the Warden and it just ruins the interaction for me. I might need some specifics. What cliffhangers? What characters are you expecting to see again? I wish Dragon Age would take the same route as Elder Scrolls. I don't think it makes any sense to be seeing the same characters in completely different nations. But I guess it doesn't matter because my interest is almost non-existent either way.

  23. Chris Avellone reportedly talked with Kotaku about what he'd do for a Planescape sequel. http://kotaku.com/5935737/the-guy-who-made-planescape-torment-tells-us-what-a-spiritual-successor-would-look-like The important bit here, I think Which says to me that they're looking at something else. I also found this interesting for understanding game writing. At the end he talks about the time pressures of story writing for games. Icewind Dale 2 was written over a weekend. But with Torment and Van Buren, they had much longer than is usual.
  24. Rented Lockout last night. I do not recommend it to anyone. The script is dumb. Not cliche dumb, but authentically dumb.
  25. Did you convince him that you do this regularly? I mean, as a one off, I can see someone doing it.
