  1. Wounding Shot is great, rangers are great in the beta. Universally agreed on these forums iirc that rangers are good in the beta. However the new higher level abilities really do seem absurdly underwhelming. But maybe they get powerful/interesting ranger-only weapons that require a certain power level to use?... Its pretty clear they have nerfed the ranger to compensate for the pet, Ive never enjoyed playing using the pet because they get reemed and die instantly on any decent fight
  2. Just checked out rangers, They got hit with the nerf bat pretty hard, They are in desecrate need of a buff in there current state, Twin arrows is no longer a model costs bond and is pushed up to level 8, all the good modals from POE1 are completely gone eg the one that increased speed ect They have really bad low/ mid level abilites and i could only see two good passives worth taking, gunner (20% reload) and driving flight (shot bounce once) I think they have nerfed them so hard because alot of people would multiclassed them just to get the pet IMHO in there current state rangers are the weakest class in the game at the moment, I am confident they will get buffed in future patches becsause they royally suck
  3. you will lose alot and gain nothing Preists have pretty mediocre low-mid level abilities. They have incredible mid-high level abiliites. If you multiclass them it will take longer to get those mid level spells and when you do get them you wont be able to cast as many. You wont be able to get above level 7 spells aswell of course. If you attempt this all you will be achieving is severly weakening a really good class. There also no benefit in multiclassing a preist with a martial class. They have no good self buffs apart from minor avatar witch is very late game and they have no good passives at all. You would be far better of having a single class priest buffing and healing from afar. There high level magic is just to powerful to contemplate doing anything other then using there high level magic. Plenty of people tested multiclass Priest/martial class in the beta, spiritual weapon lash makes it great. (And Priest of Wael is one of the best tanks.) Unless they've nerfed the lash.... While Minor Avatar is end-game the devs have assured us there will be plenty of game content left. good luck

  5. just finished checking out priests on EA, Man you DEFINITELY DO NOT want to dual class a priest with anything, They have no good passives that provide a bonus to offense or defense and where they really start to shine is when they gain access to late level spells, Mulitclassing them would be a complete waste of time. Like a frickin total waste of time. You want those high level priest spells asap and when you get them you wont be doing anything other then slinging them trust me dont multiclass a preist. It would be super cool to see a multiclass Rogue/ priest with minor avatar activated but that will come so late that it wouldn't be worth doing it.
  6. Man fighters have a really strong tool kit Im checking them out now on the EA, I hate to say it but IMHO they are alot better then rogues so many cool things to choose from at level up,
  7. Well no we wont because that information will be released separately in patch notes,
  8. Has anyone seen the list yet? Can someone please show us the link to it? And if anyone from OBS is reading this can you please post it on here? Thankyou !!
  9. Now all we need is for backstab and assinate to work with dual weilding. Im assuming its a bug if only the first pellet of a blunderbuss works with backstab...................must be a bug cause thats not right Do you consider it a bug boerer? if so have you reported it ? If not how do it report it?? Ive never reproted bugs before
  10. i dont see any reason to multi a rogue with a cipher apart from getting bitting whip you need self buffs (wizard, fighter) or good self passives (paladin ) to make it really worth it unbending is arguably the best defensive buff in the entire game and a fighter gets it pretty early (5) and now with the new changes on using powers you can use it mulitple times per encounter. nothing is going to be better for a rogue then that in terms or raw power , you will be able to sit there invincible and dish out huge damage the entire encounter if you have enough guile im going to multi with a wizard though because i reckin it wil be more fun
  11. they introduced a feature for those who want to skip the naval battle where you can board straight away thank god you will take damage when you do this though
  12. hang on i just checked on the beta and sneak attack and backstab went of from stealth and the target didnt have an affliction on them is this a bug? I though sneak needed an affliction on the target to work edit its ok just checked in deadfire sneak attack works from stealth now!!!! cool it says it works within 2 sec combat
  13. i cant wait to sneak around behind a high level wizard and blow his head off with my arquebus doing : ;assasinate, backstab, deathblow, sneak, critical hit!!!!!!! wooowwww
  14. Either way, Mindstalker is the multiclass to take if you wanna stack sneak attack damage. i think you would be better of dueling with a wizard because of the wizards self buffs. The cipher has hardly any self buffs that are good apart from time parasite and a multi cant get that (level until level eight ) If you want to play a stealthy, backstabbing assassin your going to be very close to the action. The wizard has the abilities to really keep the rogue alive and with the latest patch all wizard buffs and weapons summons are nearly instant cast (0.4 seconds) I think a cipher will be to flimsy
  15. sorry i just checked i was wrong I also checked what assinate does +4 penetration + 25 accurecy + 50 crit damage pretty good.
  16. biting whip is 30% additive damage to the base roll (it got nerfed from 40%) Sneak attacks is extra 30% on top of all the damage eg two handed style, lashes ect so sneak is far more powerful
  17. yeah the problem is though is that there are only a select few spells that give the good self buffs that i need and if i skip them to select rogue powers and rely on finding the spells in grimoires and dont end up finding them i could be up a sh&t creek
  18. So I am looking at playing a multiclass wizard/ rogue got some questions if anyone knows them: 1. Can you buy spells and add them to your grimoire in Deadfire because if your a multiclass wizard then you can avoid selecting spells at level up and just select your other classes powers. can i just rely on buy spells or finding grimoires ?? 2.We we be able to re-roll our character at inns in deadfire for a fee like pillars one? this will help incase i select wrong abilities/ spells
  19. Im leaning towards Assasin/ Wizard The self buffs will work really well with a rogue eg martial power ect.............. an assasin/ wizard will also be able to backstab and then straight away put up a defensive spell and what is a bleak walker i cant find it on beta
  20. does the ciphers biting whip scale with it? biting whip got nerfed to 30% btw also can you enter stealth in combat?? The problem with backstab is that once you come out of stealth/ invis and backstab you a pretty exposed im looking at another class to make the rogue sturdier maybe. fighter perhaps wizard looks like it would dual really well with assasin becuse of all the good self defense spells
  21. great info as allways thanks!!!! im now considering playing a multi class assassin/ something two handed style!!! now to check what synergises
  22. anyway can someone please just confirm how the backstab mechanics work for two weapon style and two handed style? That is the last thing i need to confrim before play tommorrow Boerer you there?
  23. why build a multiclass one? To gain : - access to the invis talents eg escape, shadow, clouds - sneak attack 30% - deathblows - backstab theres not really much else worth taking about just to let you no that if you thought rogues where weak in the first game they a far weaker now sneaks 50 to 30 deathblows 100 to 50 starting lower accuracey, no reckless assualt, no accurecy talents to choose means they are not going to crit more then other classes you are also kind of forced to use two handed weapon now because backstab is the rogues best feature
