  1. I just got the update, but still no patch notes. First post was updated: These are the update notes for Beta Build 86 Major Fixes Fixed a bug preventing level scaling from activating correctly. Resolved a Pillars I Import issue that was assigning incorrect values to decisions. This should resolve the issue with Eder mentioning being part of the Night Market instead of the Mayor. This will not update which item he has for existing saves however. Ahh sorry, I got confused with last one's number.
  2. It took me a while but they did sing some shanties in my game. Mostly at night and at random. Have you been sailing for a long time and nothing?
  3. I have to agree, the bugs are off putting and make me question whether waiting to play further is better than just restarting later. Can't get any progress with some character reputations, or I'm doing something wrong. The Hunt for Eothas quest is pretty messed up to me as I have sent a bug report explaining. So now I'm trying to stitch the things in place to make some sense of it to try to follow the rest. The main quest possibly being broken or scrambled is a big deal, I hope it's adressed in a patch soon.
  4. Description: During the Bounty - Biakara quest I entered the island of Hasongo out of curiosity before I was meant to go there, as I had not even been to the Kahanga Palace yet, to follow the main quest line. Edér commented on Eothas' destruction but I quickly left the area to finish the bounty quest which was nearby. When I finally did go to the palace, and I assume they would tell me to go to Hasongo after the dialogues, one of the NPCs mentioned I lit up the luminous adra lighthouse. But I had not done anything, not as much as killed a monster in Hasongo. This seemed to skip that quest entirely and scramble things. Furthermore, I was left in confusion trying to find the right order to the quests. When I tried going back there, the quest is still working somehow. However as I approached the island, it was surrounded by ships and I was greeted by the navy. They talked about the lightouse being lit again. There is no new quest in the main story branch up to this point, but I did get some other quests from the companies. Steps to Reproduce the Issue: 1: Load Serpent's Crown save 2: Enter the Kahanga Palace 3: Continue dialogue until suddenly Hazanui Karu mentions the Watcher leaving Hasongo and the next part of the Hunt for Eothas quest line is skipped and completed. And there's nothing leading up to Magran's Teeth as the NPCs mentioned after that. EDIT: Added a savefile after this problem, the output log and more screenshots. Sorry if the report is a little messy or needs more information. It's the first one I have sent.
  5. No, backers had to pledge the extra value with the beta access code. I'm not entirely sure but if you can still access the obsidian product pages if you pre-order from their site, you might still be able to purchase the beta access code with additional value. EDIT: Sorry, I saw that he found the answer too late. Was trying to delete my post but was unable to find a way to do it myself.
  6. This reminds me of the second boss of Altered Beast (arcade) game.Hail, fellow old dude RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE! As a player of a Wael priestess character, this tweet was quite eye-opening.
  7. She couldn't leave the island herself, true, but someone could go down there and talk to her. Which is exactly what happened in the end. And since we descended into the pit with the help of the gods themselves (surely they remembered that Iovara was still down there and able to talk?) they probably weren't all that worried about her potentially spreading the truth. At least not as much as they were about Woedica gaining power. Her punishment looks more like Thaos' personal vendetta to me, the gods really don't seem to care much. And I doubt they would care about her soul getting destroyed either. To me it looked like that Burial island was Woedica's domain. Perhaps other gods didn't even know Iovara was imprisoned there. But more likely they were indeed more worried about Woedica's imminent restoration, so they lent the Watcher their help going there. Makes me wonder, if Woedica was deposed a long time ago why wait so long to restore her? Not enough people living in the vicinity of the machines? Also, I think it's obvious there is no consensus among the gods about anything and they're not infallible. Some gods want to eradicate other gods, other gods want all the power to themselves. Some gods wanted to erase all trace of Engwithans who knew their secrets from the face of Eora, while others were against it. And while they squabble and plot, reluctant/unable to act directly against each other, such mishaps as Iovara's info leak happen. I wonder if the other gods have no knowledge of Iovara being there. Right after talking to her, you do get contacted by Wael. But that's a pretty convenient god. If he alone has knowledge about things happening down there, not considering Woedica of course I suppose he's keeping it secret to the other gods. You also get contacted by Skaen right there at the end. Ahh yeah I forgot about that. Skaen is known to be in league with Woedica as far as I remember.

  9. You haven't been paying attention. Not "perfect" as "flawless". "Your perferct" choices you want the most, that you want to transfer to the sequel. I see. I'm only transfering to continue playing the same character, it's still hardly the choices I'd really want to transfer or wish upon the people in Dyrwood :D Except, he may be born again after quite a while and by that time you may be dead already. Will there be anyone to stop him then? So, nope, for me there are no second chances for that guy. That's what made me want to destroy his soul. Better not give him any chance to return since he seemed to always return as an awakened soul. If I remember the things we hear about him right.
  10. Someone probably posted something like this... but the whole Iselmyr/Aloth thing could be a loophole for a bisexual character, if they'd go with Aloth being straight with both sides of his soul.
  11. > At the same time I liked Eder, so I would have been rather bummed out, had I made a tank myself. To be fair Eder can be made into an extremely effective damage dealer as well Yeah, I made him my tank since everyone else was better suited for damage dealing such as my rogue. Now I'm interested in this fighter/rogue mix Éder could have in Deadfire.
  12. In Pillars 1 I started the game with a rogue to get a feel of the world. And then I restarted with a priest, because it's a class I rarely use in other games. It was fun to use it, although Durance was also a priest, and not very good one at that up to my standards. Or having the same class in party seemed like a waste, and I never got to appreciate him very much. I don't usually make characters as ideal self inserts or anything, so this time I tried to follow the party reputations that fit Wael's choices and it turned out to be a fun unexpected way. As opposed to playing a "perfect playthrough" as I do in most games. Either choosing the best/good or worst/evil choices. Before the White March I & II content, there was no rogue companion in the party. So I simply remade my first test character and had her around until I finally reached the part where I could recruit the Devil of Caroc. For Deadfire I am still looking at the multi-classes and searching for something that is a good compromise between what seems fitting to my character, and good mechanic-wise. Might be Priest/rogue if that's useful, or Cipher, who knows. By the end of the game, I used the AoE spells a lot so she was one of my main damage dealers with the obvious healing spells and buffs for the situations that called for it.
  13. We have the huge head mode already. I wonder if we'll have a puppet mode for our characters.
  14. I am a little (or very) late to this, but sent my answers. Is there a truly perfect world state though? I did not exactly play with perfect choices but what felt right for my character to choose at the time. It was fun to see what other choices people made/consider perfect though.
