  1. I personally prefer Stormbow cipher that stays around the middle. You should definitely make Durance tanky with heavy armor and 1h/shield. I personally always make Pallegina a support tank, because her stats kinda suck for dps imo. Her wielding Outworn Buckler from Gilded Vale + Durance or Kana (or anybody really) with Little Saviour from Caed Nua last level means you basically have +10 defense aura. Pallegina does the most of her dps via Sacred Immolation, anyway. It all comes down to personal choice, but I'd drop Sagani for Kana. He can either make your party tankier or provide your ranged dps with buffs like Sure-Handed Ila Nocked Her Arrows with Speed and Aefyllath Ues Mith Fyr. I also give him a tanky setup with 1h/shield if he gets into unwanted melee engagements, but his main weapon is any ranged with +10 acc granted to ally attacking same target. I usually make Edér a dedicated tank with retaliation gear. Although if you have priest for buffs it's probably not needed later on.
  2. *cough* Waidwen *cough* Waidwen was a vessel for Eothas (allegedly). Abydon had his own physical body. And where exactly did he 'store' that big body, I wonder? Can they just manifest into physical form onto Eora from their plane of existence?
  3. Edér-Aloth/Iselmyr-Durance the dream team. Kana is alright. Hiravias is ok. I'm pretty neutral about the WM ones. Haven't played with them much, either. GM can be interesting, but she doesn't engage with the world as much. She's kind of unique as a follower imo. Pallegina...eh idk. I don't hate her, but she's a little too bland. Not sure why they decided to port her to PoE 2, I was actually surprised. I'm sad Durance won't be there. Sagani I'm completely indifferent about. I hope one of the PoE 2 female characters will be funny. Would go well with Aloth/Edér.
  4. Ah. I thought he died and his remaining essence was contained within the Eyeless. I also didn't know the gods had physical manifestations. Also, wasn't the city he was protecting from the moon crash Engwithan? If so..that's pretty sad. They created the gods and then Ondra (one of them) wants them to be forgotten. Not very grateful lol.
  5. How can you not do both? Do you have a priest? If yes, you can do both. Unless you're low level, which kinda makes it hard lol. Go into the right corner next to the forge and hug each other. Position your squishies (backline) in the middle, don't let them get attacked by more than 1 or maaaybe 2 golems. Make sure you use scrolls, potions and lots of buff spells if you got spellcasters. If you have a cipher, spam treason on the ghost wizard and the other ghosts, as well. If you have any form of dominate/charm/confusion, use on ghosts. Wizard helps a ton, use binding web and ice fog on the golems. Btw you should've posted this into Character builds etc..
  6. I just realized something about one of the endings. There's an option to return Thaos to the wheel with his memories in tact. While this should be the 'merciful' ending I believe, it isn't at the same time. Making him remember he finally failed is quite cruel. Tearing his soul apart is just granting him eternal rest, even though that's the cruel option according to the game. But anyway, if you return him to the wheel, he's just going to reappear in another body and it might strengthen his resolve, and thus he might try again to cause ruin. Isn't that how it'd go down? Ending side questions (sorry for a little off topic): do you think the people he merged together into the first god knew what was coming to them? There were even children there and newborns. Also, if this happened in Engwith on the Eastern Reach continent, how did other continents begin worshipping the gods they had no clue about? Did the gods send them clear signs that they now exist? And finally, do you guys think his actions are justified? It's a moral and also a practical question. If the whole point was to make people fear a higher power, why are there evil gods like Skaen? As much conflict fake or lack of faith (allegedly) had caused, the real gods didn't really change much imo. I'd like to hear opinions on this.
  7. So yeah it's a little late to ask this, but I'm dying to know. If Abydon is technically dead, how did he speak to me in Teir Evron like nothing happened? I went there before WM2. Also, why doesn't Eothas have a constellation in Teir Evron? Does anybody know maybe? Thanks. I'm not sure if I didn't pay attention or something, but I totally don't recall reading about these things in the game.
  8. Quite difficult to choose tbh. But if I must pick 3... 1. Neverwinter Nights (my childhood favourite, 4 years active in the community, game's lifespan was fairly long due to awesome editor) 2. Mass Effect 2-3 3. Icewind Dale 2 I missed out on Planescape: Torment, Morrowind and BG 2 unfortunately. Other RPGs I love in no particular order: - Skyrim (heavily modded) - Icewind dale - Neverwinter Nights 2 (especially the first expansion of it) - Baldur's Gate - PoE (obviously) - Dragon Age 1-3 (yes, even DA 2, despite its atrocities) - Fallout 3, NV, 4 - Oblivion - Witcher 2-3 (especially 3)
  9. I like the idea. Although I stopped using the barb aura that sickens, because enemy ciphers pretty much stunlock me forever.
  10. One of the strong points of this game is the combat. I actually choose the violent option (combat) almost always. It's a mix of being bloodthirsty and also wanting a challenge. Clearing out the Ondrites was quite the run. If I want to really roleplay, there are other games for that that do it much better imo.
  11. Should I take scion of flame with Firebrand? Probably dumb question lol.
  12. So I know one of the well known options for this class is the Purgatory/Resolution combo. But for some reason, for me this ain't cutting it (pun intended). I'm doing pretty subpar damage somehow with both of them being superb, lashed and durgan refined. But when I bust out Hours of St. Rumbalt, I cut through mobs like butter. Also, I've been using St. Ydwen's Redeemer and leveled it up to max during Galvino's workshop run, but for some weird reason it just stopped proccing altogether on vessels. I found myself using St. Rumbalt on everything, and it worked much better. It just doesn't proc anymore, which is strange. I was thinking maybe the procs can get resisted by defenses, but not proccing *once* is pretty strange. Any ideas?
  13. I prefer that wand on wizards. It's strange how often it can proc. Aloth procs it on literally almost every shot, which is weird considering the 10% proc chance.
  14. So weird, I was thinking the same lol. I haven't started it yet, so. Would you make the paladin a dedicated tank and later go with Tidefall or something? What about the cipher? I finished the game with a Stormcaller cipher a week ago, and since then it's become my favourite class. Having a versatile spellcaster with good auto attacks and infinite spells is nice.
  15. Of course, but I was thinking if all of them should have a small shield and and 1h weapon, along with the shield talent.
  16. It does? Good to know lol. So what, build the wiz as a tank? Or pretty much all of them be tanks?
  17. So I was thinking about doing a run with a wonderful trio on potd, since it's still 2 months away for Deadfire. I'd like some suggestions for class combinations and builds. I was thinking maybe Stormcaller cipher with paladin tank and a priest, but that's just one that comes to mind. I was thinking maybe a chanter for tank, but I personally found chanter tanks to be quite frail.
  18. Yeah those ogres are very tough for being only at level 3 of Endless Paths lol. They're lvl 9 or 10, they're using lvl 5 druid spells. I could beat them at lvl 6 on potd with a 4-man party, but it was tough and needed to rest. What are you fighting the adra dragon with? Difficulty and party composition: ? After hitting lvl 11/12 it's not difficult, and it used to be the encounter I really dreaded before, even on hard lol. I always have a priest and a wizard, use scrolls and cc the hell out of everything with juicy priest buffs on my whole party. Druid or cipher make it very easy, too. You can just spam whisper of treason on the dragon lol. Disintegrate completely destroys her.
  19. Okay, so.. I'm not sure if these are bugs, but probably are. Never have I encountered so many weird things in PoE as lately. Btw I have NOT touched the console in this playthrough. So when I was going towards the Radiant Spore, I suddenly noticed that both Edér's and Pallegina's CON dropped down to 3 without any reason or precedent. It just dropped to 3. No debuffs, no indication of anything. It just changed to a base of 3. I was confounded as heck, to say the least. I had no choice but to console it back to the base. Now in a different playthrough, I'm doing Caed Nua, as I would...now I'm suddenly noticing my barbarian MC is doing really, REALLY weird things, like doing 9x crits on single enemies, insta-killing them with 0.0 damage. I press C and notice I have --228-- accuracy! WTF?! I swear I'm not trolling. I can't even explain this lol, just take a look at this: https://imgur.com/a/Y669I I did a quick save, then I noticed now my ACC is gimped. No weapon focus and no ACC from the weapon with +12 'accurate III' . The hell is causing this? Again: no console.
  20. How? You pull them into the left corner next to the lower end of the stairs, easiest fight ever.
  21. I see. Thanks for the clarification, I had a feeling this would happen. While I understand it'd be difficult (although not impossible, look at Mass Effect), it's a shame that my decisions won't carry over.
  22. Hi. I'm really curious about this and couldn't find satisfying answers on the internet. Could any of you beta testers give answers as to whether or not the decisions made in the first game carry over to Deadfire in any meaningful or significant way? I mean, some decisions you make are pretty significant, especially the final one. Any difference if I help the adra dragon out? Or help Woedica? No spoilers/details, please, just perhaps say what has a possible consequence. Since the release got postponed, unfortunately, I'm planning another playthrough.
  23. I never actually went for bashing shields. The shields that I used just happened to have bash on them. They're just really good shields.
