  1. Hmm, I don't want to play a pure wizard though - too squishy. I also think in general multi-classing is better for my style, since caster/melee multi-class characters tend to be sturdy and have lots of passives - which means less micro-management for me! And the spells tend to come later and thus become less potent when I multi-class wizard. Hence, I thought auto-attacking is better for me. Would dual scepter or even stuff like pistols work for the wizard multi-class? The main reason I want the wizard to be a part of the multi-class is that I recall how crucial his CC spells were in PoE 1, and that's what I want him for mainly.
  2. Well, but aren't a lot of the prime spells - especially early spells - friendly AOE-prone? It's just too much micro-management for me. Wizards will always be one of the most powerful classes in RPGs. But they are so squishy and wimpy Are you guys using implements or using spells? Wizards have had the lowest DPS after the Priest in both for PoE 1 and PoE 2 in my games - though it may be because I don't micro much and rely on scripts and auto-attacks. Priest was a monster DPS in Pillars 1. Anything that wasn't immune to Burn damage would get obliterated in seconds. But you have to play them manually to be effective. This is the same with Wizards (and all offensive casters except maybe Tekehu) in Deadfire. What makes Tekehu different? Because his rod has a bounce?
  3. I employed one in PoE 1, as a hybrid CC and rod auto-attack bot, and it did reasonable DPS - a bit behind both ranged Fighter and Rogue but acceptable since it was also devoting some chunk of time to CC. But in PoE 2, the rod guy is doing horribly, even though he is not doing any CC at all so far and purely auto-attacking with the rod. So why is he performing so badly? Is it because the Blast attack now requires a -50 percent recovery speed modal? Or is it because there are no decent rods early game? Whatever the reason, he's literally doing LESS THAN HALF of the DPS as the other party members, including ones who joined later. So is rod auto-attacking not viable as ranged DPS now? If so, what other auto-attacking builds are there for Wizards? Can dual scepters do reasonably more? Frankly, I am also wondering if you even need the Wizard's CC in PoE 2 as much as you did in PoE 1. In PoE 2, I can make everyone Rogue multi-class, for instance, and that's probably enough CC there.
  4. I am running a Crusader version of a build similar to this at the moment. It's this Steam guide build with a few modifications: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1400804034 For my playstyle, the Crusader version seems to work much better than the Holy Slayer version, as I was not patient enough to wait until getting Bloodied to heal; nor do I like to micro that much as the Holy Slayer version requires you to do. But Devoted using sabers? I am not sure about that. But then I am too lazy to switch mid-battle, and too old and forgetful to remember to switch back after the battle. So your experience may be different
  5. If you are getting to this area only at end-game, will we be able to make use of any soulbounds maxed at all? Or can these items be acquired early? Well, I guess in PotD 1 you did have some soulbounds in the last DLC, too...
  6. Yeah, I am never Bloodied, as I panic heal instantly at 75 percent (or has the scripts heal). So I guess for my safe style it's not for me. Try the Devoted build, think that one may be your style. Lots of constant healing at all times Yes, I am really liking Devoted/Paladin.

  9. I am really beginning to question the value of a Streetfighter Rogue, if 1) you are not in the habit of getting him below 50 percent HP AND 2) you run at 3 melees. In such a scenario, am I getting any benefit at all? I know I am only level 12 at this point, but my Streetfighter Rogue/Fighter is getting out-damaged up to this stage by both my hunting bow Barbarian (!) (and as Serafen, he joined late, too!) and my Fighter/Paladin. So unless the Streetfighter character miraculously picks-up mid- and late-game, I don't see what the fuss is about. Also, please keep in mind that I heal very fast so I don't get to Bloodied stage, and I run a lot of melees or hybrid melee-caster characters who are sturdy. So with my gaming habits, I should stay away? Or am I going to be floored by the Streetfighter DPS later? This note was about special combination, Barring Death's Door and Streetfighter damage & recovery boost. Barring Death's Door on Streetfighter not only protect him from deaths (as other classes) but give him +150% DM & 50% Recovery - this is single class in the game which has such high benefits from such simple combination. > So unless the Streetfighter character miraculously picks-up mid- and late-game, I don't see what the fuss is about. You don't need mid-late game to make street-fighter work, check build thread, there exist at least 3 - 4 ways to get free -50% recovery time & +50% damage Ah, ok. I wasn't sure what BDD stood for. I see your point then; but that's a lot more micro than I am willing to indulge in!
  10. I cannot find the page and the posts where this discussion occurred, but I am very disappointed with the Streetfighter Rogue/Fighter relative to the Paladin/Fighter in terms of melee performance so far at level 12. Sure, it's a team setting - unlike the premise of this thread - but the Streetfighter so far has been far squisher and does even less DPS. I am totally not getting the fuss. Will Riposte and I guess end-game Rogue strikes really add that much more DPS, once I acquire them?

  12. Write a Ghostheart Ranger/Rogue build for me, please! P.S. I had been hesitant about even the Ghostheart Ranger, because I thought most of the top Ranger skills were at level 8-9 - which means they won't be available as multi-class characters? In particular, the skill that lets you shoot twice won't be available to multi-class characters
  13. By the way, how about the new mythical tier of upgrades? Are ingredients easily obtainable? The upgrades themselves worth it?
  14. Yeah, there exists at least 2 good items 1. Soulbound axe, thanks for guy who designed this weapon, it upgrade any might inspiration to 1 tier, i.e now Berseker can get Energized, and all other barbarian sub-classes can get +2 pen for free i.e now you don't need Berserker to rise your Pen + it regain 15HP for all kills Thanks; that really sounds awesome. I hope we can get it early enough to make use of it. By the way, how are these items acquired? Any new items in the shops or acquired through non-DLC mob drops?
  15. Thanks! Did you go through every single one of them? Or are there still items you haven't acquired yet? It's too bad, as I was hoping to get more warhammer and axe types - as I feel they are heavily under-represented relative to sabers and swords for dual wield builds.. A rapier, a battle axe, a hide armor, and a piece of headgear. I'll console them in later to check them out. Ah, battleaxe - potentially cool...
  16. Sigh. Anything really that makes you go "wow!"? Also, how are these items acquired? Anything that can be gotten easily without visiting the DLC area (I am still only level 12)?
  17. Barbarians have Might self-buffs? Wow. I've been playing Serafen as pure Barbarian till level 11, so I guess it's later
  18. Ah, ok then. Still the single damage type is annoying, but I will try it on Gimli the Brute for the next PotD run And 25 Might is insane. I guess Priest is mandatory (I take one in every run anyways though - it's the Wizard I am thinking of finally dropping the next run).
