  1. I think the Venture Brothers setting would make a really great fit for a videogame.
  2. I don't think I'd dare crack a Steam or Origin game even if it meant I couldn't use that game anymore. It's not worth risking the whole account.
  3. "I was really surprised at how skillful the hackers were" How many news stories about game X being leaked have there been over the past decade?
  4. Pardon if this sounds retarded but ... what's the point in playing a video game if you don't like playing the combat portions? Wouldn't the video game become nothing more than like watching a movie? While combat is one of my least favorite aspects of RPGs, I still enjoy it. It gives me the satisfaction of seeing how powerful my character is that I've spent all this time leveling up, and allows me to take part in the "conflict" in the game. Bad guy loses because I beat the snot out of him. It's the sense of achievement portion of my game. I think you might be getting hung up on a label. Even if it ceases to be a "game" at that point a lot of people really like the interactive stories and judging from Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain's success it seems like there might be enough people to support such a product financially. It's really just a progression of choose your own adventure books.
  5. I think Space Hulk is the best one I can come up with at the moment.
  6. My guess would be either it would take too long to properly bug test or they didn't want to cut into sales of the previous games during the ME3 launch period.
  7. They've hit the 2.1million mark, congrats to all involved.
  8. Didn't a publisher fire him into space or something? Puts an intersting spin on the line "You;ll never work in this town again".
  9. Top 100 things Peter would do if he ever became an evil overlord

  11. Gas Lamp Games - Dungeons of Dreadmor II - 3D
  12. Reloads before unskippable cutscenes are a nightmare but disarming in Mirror's Edge isn't as hard as it first looks. The next time you hit a section with armed cops just practice fighting them for a while and I imagine you'll spot the queues quite quickly with repetition. Anyway, here is a vid of that fight, hopefully it will help you with the timing for the boss
  13. You can't load more than one tlk file at a time but you can merge them into a single file so long as nothing in the two tlk's uses the same STRREF. You can try using this to merge the files.
  14. After command thinks nobody made it to the conduit the army is ordered to retreat, although I think it's possible to miss that bit of chatter if you head right towards the beam without stopping. so the companions must have been picked up by the Normandy at that point. As for the second thing they probably didn't know what the Crucible was about to do but even if they did it makes sense that they might try to run from the energy wave.
  15. Actually the MP segment is quite fun. It's only cooperative survial mode so it won't have the longevity of something like Left 4 Dead but it's a good addition to the game and I'm enjoying it.
  16. Pity that excellent animation technology will be wasted on another badly written QTE turd. I thought HR was written well although it's obvious that there were cut story arcs that were important for tying everything together. Hopefully the third attempt will manage to get a complete story.
  17. I think the HMWA X was the spectre licenced assault rifle with the highest stats in ME1.
  18. WEYLAND-YUTANI CORPORATION LIMITED Thank you for giving me something to do this morning
  19. I should have phrased that differently, I wasn't talking about the subs just the amount it costs to buy the base game digitally. There were three options, the most expensive cost over
  20. I worry that it will go the other way and Steam will have to charge more to compete with Origin and it's growing list of exclusives. The pricing plan for The Old Republic doesn't exactly bode well for us the consumer if EA gains a lot of ground. One thing I would add is that even without support from other publishers, EA has an impressive list of franchises that it could make Origin-exclusive, I know that I will be using the service for things like Battlefield, the next Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Mirror's Edge and Dead Space titles ect. They will probably have most gamers using the service next year and from then making exclusive deals with other publishers will probably entice enough people into buying from them. Not that I think Steam is circling the drain, I just think that Origin actually can be a serious rival in a short (year or two?) kind of time-frame.
  21. It's probably to get people to use Origin more than anything else. EA want to compete with Steam and they seem to be trying to strong-arm people into using it by making the service compulsary with some of their top franchises like Mass Effect and Battlefield. Not that there haven't been games that required Steam to run either. The Old Republic was said to require Origin until recently but now it seems that it won't (According to a post by a Bioware dev on the TOR official forum).
  22. Well if you tie the sexual discriminators to the trees beforehand it just might work.
  23. Omega Etiquette maybe? I think it's catchy.
  24. I'm playing Duke Nukem Forever. Finding it pretty fun actually, it feels like a good 90's shooter with some well done half-life 2 enviromental challenges, short unenjoyable scaletrics driving sections and mostly unfunny juvanile humour. But the majority of the gameplay has been solid so far, not sure why it would warrent such terrible reviews.
  25. I don't really care what class I play so long as I can be in at least one scene like .
