It's somewhat big headed of you to make this thread the official website for Dragon Age Inquisition . Thank you for the snippets and screenshots.

Nevermind this post, sorry.

This series is completely free and is an indie project so you may well not have heard of them before. The graphics aren't the best but the story is excellent, they're made by Zero Punctuation's Yahtzee. 5 days a stranger 7 days a sceptic trilby's notes 6 days a sacrifice

I saw a movie called 'Brake' yesterday. The entire film is one guy stuck in a box with a radio. Literally, the film never switches to other characters or flashbacks, it's just one guy in a confined space for one hour and twenty minutes trying to figure out why he's there and escape. And it's brilliant, I cannot believe they kept it entertaining and suspenseful for that long. The ending is reminiscent of Mass Effect 3 where you wish they'd cut to credits just a little earlier but I'm glad I watched it.

Really? That's the first time i hear of this. First I'd heard of it too but the email I got from them had a link to a key for the JA classic pack and a second link giving me a NS2 key.

Jagged Alliance kickstarter backers are being given Natural Selection 2 steam keys as rewards. I already own it so if you want it PM me and i'll give the first person the key.

What!? How can anyone dislike Anna Torv?

DS3 only really shines in multiplayer but it does get better after the first couple of hours. Some of the locations are gorgeous and the enemies and boss encounters get more varied and entertaining.

But wasn't Riddick the emperor of a fearsome space roman army by the end of the last film? How does he still find himself in such precarious situations?

Yes Fringe is excellent, I have watched all seasons. I assumed this was a common and popular TV series that everyone had watched? I loved it from start to finish but apparently it's popularity was waning towards the end which is why the last series and the whole invasion plotline was rushed. I heard some theory that people started watching it on Hulu more than on television because it clashed with other popular shows (which has apparently killed a couple of really good shows now ike Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles) because of loss of advertisement revenue or something.

Walter literally was central to pretty much all of the major threads in the show including a lot of the human storylines like his relationship with his son. Fringe arguably was his story, not to detract from the other characters or actors though who were all wonderful.

Well they're old, they're on twice as many drugs as guys half their age.

I've been playing Gunpoint and loving it. There's a demo available on the Steam store page.

So basically they wait until right after I make my post about how everyone knows publishers can't let customers share digital copies of games or they'll go out of business before making a press release saying they're going to allow people to share digital copies of games. Is any further proof needed that Microsoft are evil?

I happen to agree with you (Mamoulian's post was shorter when I replied) but Microsoft are taking away the standard practice for consumers to be able to share their games with their friends, an option which has been available to people for decades. We own our games a little bit less now because we're more limited with what we can do with them. Microsoft have every right to do that and it's in the best interest of their shareholders but that's little comfort to us and is the other side of the argument. One of the reasons there wasn't such a backlash when PC games switched over to being bound to accounts and machines (but there was one) is because steam and digital sales took everyone by surprise with just how widespread they would become and it happened relativly slowly. Also PC games were effectivly being phased out by retail in favour of the much more profitable console games so digital, bound-only-to-you sales were helping people have access to games rather than limiting them. It's also widely accepted that digital sales can't be allowed to be shared out or swapped or sold 2nd hand otherwise the publishers would literally go out of business. That practice transitioning to physical discs happened slowly, as I recall people were unhappy about it when it was first introduced but we grudgingly accepted it and today most people, myself included, don't care. I imagine it will be a rougher transition for consoles because they're trying to do it all at once, and again, being able to swap and lend out games and rent them from local shops is a decades old practice, people are going to miss that when it's gone (and for good reason) but they will eventually get over it. It still sucks though.

What Mamoulian said. But I started typing first.

Dragon Age III / The Witcher 3 trailers. Impressions?

That was the impression I got as well but I also think that the figure in the standstorm has Hawke's silhouet. Even if it is that doesn't mean those scenes are in sequence but it's something to cling to. -

No way to be sure yet obviously but I assume the dragon is Flemeth leading the new bad guys. -

I am going to go against the trend here and say that I am very excited for DA3 and that it's release cannot come soon enough. I doubt that the mage/chantry war will be the big storyline here, that's probably going on but the real plot seems likely to be around Flemeth, the evil from beyond the mirror, Morrigan and the God Baby™. It looks like Hawke and/or a number of the companions are dead, I'm not thrilled about that because I loved Hawke and the companions and the dynamics between the whole group. I'd have been happy to play as The Warden as well much for the same reason and I had actually hoped that Hawke and The Warden would team up in DA3 as Bioware had set up the same extreamly interesting scenario that we had at the end of KOTOR2 with the Exile following Revan into the abyss. It's going to suck if they've wasted that plotline a second time. I am cautiously hopeful though because in the scene at the end did look like Hawke's Silhouette. I also hope they do justice to The Warden being alive and especially the possible outcome where he follows Morrigan through the mirror (or doesn't). There were so many great threads and interesting possible ways for Bioware to go with Inquisition so I'm really looking forward to seeing what they've created. The more I think about it the more I want it. This could actually be my most anticipated Bioware game ever. I've been very happy with the previous games so I hope that all of the Elder Scrolls stuff they've been talking about hasn't changed the format of the game very much. I don't see that it has to, TOR still felt very much like a Bioware game afterall. And hopefully c&c from past games will be handled with less glitches in DA3, I know it's not the end of the world if they can't manage it but it was always so nice when those moments cropped up. Roll on 2014.
