  1. I liked the storytelling techniques that Bioware were trying in DA2 and I enjoyed the cast of characters. I enjoyed playing a character with a history and personality beyond just what I was deciding for him. It was always great picking a one or two word response in the dialogue wheel and getting a really great line from Hawke that I wasn't expecting and it was also fun seeing Hawke's overall personality and the way other characters saw him be moulded by the the dialogue responses that I had chosen. I thought the time jumps were a great way to tell a story, I know that wasn't popular with everybody but I loved getting through a chapter doing something big and dramatic like the Deep Roads or the Quanari attack and then fast-forwarding, seeing how Hawke, the rest of the cast and the city in general had grown and what they were doing and how everyone had moved on after those events. I enjoyed the longer story arcs for characters like Anders and Cullen who's stories really took advantage of the five year timespan. I liked the little scenes and small touches that made the companions feel like they had their own lives as well. They had some really good storylines in DA2 both in the main and side quests, a lot of them felt underdeveloped though which is a pity.
  2. Episode 2

  5. Rock, Paper, Shotgun posted a 20 minuet hands-on of the Suicide Mission level. That's playing on a Macbook so the settings are on low apparently, I think it already looks gorgeous though so it will be interesting to see it with the settings cranked up. .
  6. That's what she said.
  7. According to steam, Space Hulk will be out 2 weeks, 5 days and 21 hours from the time of this post.
  8. Ooooh look at me! I'm the cynical brit and I can access the game already! "This game should be out by the time you're watching this" Burn him with fire.
  9. Suddenly I thought of Shadoworlds and now I can't stop wishing someone would reboot that or Shadowlands with a kickstarter.
  10. You are a man of good taste. I have that whole series on my bookshelf.
  11. I've yet to play a SR game but any game where you can play as an animated feisty latina toilet has to have redeeming qualities.
  12. Well the important thing is that I am happy. I've been levelling six characters from scratch and if it hadn't been for the three double xp weekends I wouldn't have had the stamina to go on with my extreamly unwise "I'll do a planet at a time with all six characters so I can get the most out of crafting" routine.
  13. You need to pay. It's a DLC episode called 400 days and bridges the gap between season 1 and 2. I've not played it yet though because the last double xp weekend for TOR started today. It costs £4 though so unless the quality has dropped significantly from the core game it probably is worth it.

  15. The Double Fine Adventure game is reportedly projected to be over budget by a sizable amount.
  16. I'd recommend the whole Ender and Shadow series as well, although the rest of the Ender books are very different in tone while the Shadow series are more in keeping with the feel of Ender's Game.

  20. Made by the same people doing the Jagged Alliance kickstarter;
  21. That seems kind of mean seeing as they were only following orders
  22. And by editing your post like this, I can pretend you are talking about Saints Row and proceed to disagree with your assessment that the parody doesn't work. Furthermore, I can question your sanity for suggesting it could be anything but an over-the-top parody. *beams happily* I have to admit I didn't think that the MGS series was meant to be a parody ever, it falls in line with managa and many other japanese game series so I assume it was just a culturual style. It's become a barrier for me because as series like MGS and |Final Fantasy become more cinematic and manga-like, especially with the dialogue which rarely seems to translate well, I find it harder and harder to get into them. Which is just a personal gripe but.. anyway, MGS seems more in-line with other big games from Japan so I question whether it actually is a parody or not, even though the series has always had plenty of in-jokes scattered about.
