  1. For whom is interested in a solo fight:

Marauder is so squishy :D Single mistake and you restart fight, for example the first video is no-rest run (+50% Healing, +10 ACC) with  with near unlimited resources build, you don't need even wait for Llengrath's Safeguard

In summary you can make same  no-rest run and just cast moon-well from scroll instead of healing potion, when dragon cast Llengrath's Safeguard, switch on Veilpiercer or Street Sweeper and dispel it

  2. I like Skaen/Soul Blade (+50 Deflection vs all attack for 30 sec) + Sun & Moon and Tuotilo's Palm or Akola's Apex Ward, some kind of melee mystic, while both shields have some kind of relation you can regain your focus pretty easy :D

I care few potion of last stand and can always switch on BDD + Last Stand

  3. The problem with no weapons is it basically says ok you have to do either 1.)summoned weapons (limited to a few classes) or 2.) use unarmed combat perk so basically you have to be durable ie be a fighter/x it is kinda limiting given the penetration system in potd.

But with weapons you can also open a new can of worms because experienced players know how to metagame a few choice weapons ie red hand damage stacking (obvious), eccea's blaster projectile splitting/spell duplication (cipher), and certain weapons with good power levels to fire etc can push an already very strong class like wizard/evoker over the top.

not to mention you have enough weapons with special abilities that allow you to one shot groups of mobs with special attacks.

if you say no enchanting allowed (on weapons) it certainly improves the situation but then I will see a bunch of grave calling saber builds pop up.

    I don't think this is problem :D

Grave calling saber builds - without chanter ?

    Rccea's blaster projectile splitting/spell duplication - Solo ?

Red hand damage stacking (obvious) - I believe this will be fixed

Fire PL - This doesn't help you with boarding fights or magma dragon

  4. If Devoted worked with Shifter... i'd have my character (with Chanter banned)...

Shifter+Paladin looked like fun, but i only did a few quests in neketaka with it (and with items, but mostly used one spell before shifting, it was before items worked while shifting)

    Devoted don't work with Shifter

Shiftir + Paladin I have big problems with PEN for this combination

  5. - Chanters should play on their own battleground but not here

Yeah, single Chanter/X is like 2 - 3 character party

    > - Without invisibility-resets boss fights seem impossible plus any mistake might cause a quick death

Not all, currently only Ukaizo, but I assume that new Mega Bosses will be also multistage

    > - Ship fights favour Fighter/XXX as anything else will go down too quickly

You can use Invise + Summon (for example Ranger + Rogue), but Fighter can start fight immediately

    > -  Beraths Challenge will kill anyone except Chanters (who are already out)

Maybe X / Skaen can use Triumph of Crusaders to kill minions, or withdraws and shadow beyond to apply buffs, let's check first mega boss :D

There is not much room left when picking classes...

    Yeah

But you can allow weapon and check single handed Devoted/Ghost Hear with Pistol Modal ;D There also exist Eccea's Arcane Blaster that solve any possible penetration problems, you can DW it with any melee weapon and enjoy 50% + 30% + 15% recovery reduction

  6. In PoE 1 Chanter was the king of naked runs so i banned this class from my personal list. Druid was another strong contender that only struggled in the very-late game. Monk was also great except for the boss fights in WM 1&2. Too bad if Chanter is still THE class to go thanks to unlimited chants. Another reason to ban the class from this challenge!

I really do not like the AR/PEN-system in PoE 2 either. Why not using the old one? Without Devoted or Berserker most builds will lack PEN here. Devoted/Lifegiver was another idea i started some days ago but have not played further. At least it has good PEN, lots of heals and nice CC. The Devoted/Trickster was quite nice up to level 15 murdering even big groups without problems. But the lack of sustain against big bosses (Ukaizo!) hurts a lot. Sure he could just use Smoke Veil to skip it but that feels just lame.

But havent you said @Mant2si that your Priest of Magran/Ghostheart was able to beat the Guardian of Ukaizo? Was this without any consumables? If so we might have another contender. Chanters i do not count.

    P.S. What about a Devoted/Shieldbearer?

He gets resistance or immunity to any affliction, can dish out quite some damage and has lots of sustain. Still not enough?

    > Another reason to ban the class from this challenge!

Yeah you need to ban Chanters otherwise there no point for naked challenge - unlimited summons with +4 pen, more OP than any existed weapon

    > But havent you said @Mant2si that your Priest of Magran/Ghostheart was able to beat the Guardian of Ukaizo?

Yeah I killed Ukazio with Magran/Ranger -  I used withdraw to reset fight after each Ukaizo stage transition, and remove minions aggro, but I can't handle any high level boat fights

But I also killed Ukaizo with Skaen/Fighter - the trick to remove Energyzed inspirations with Club modal and L1 Priest Interdiction, I used withdraw to reset 2x times fight and remove minions aggro

I don't know how works Berath Challenge -  but without fight resetting I can't kill Ukaizo, because of 60 sec first transition

If there will be at least one crush immune boss or boss with 15+ crush armor and +120 deflection...

    > What about a Devoted/Shieldbearer?

You don't need Paladin to resistance to all afflictions, Dwarf + Fighter + Captain Banquet enough

    > Devoted/Lifegiver

Yeah that combination work pretty well, but without invise spell, one mistake cause you to lose your character

  7. After few tests (I done all tests with console) I don't think that this challenge is possible without chanter class (only if you want simple complete game without clearing all tough fights). I tested Troubadour/Devoted and can complete near all (High Level) fights without problems

Chanters solve summon/healing/penetration problems and has unlimited resources

The biggest problem is long fights like Ukaizo where bosses have high Armor/Life, with low deflection

Druid + Fighter/Paladin is also good, but you don't have enough penetration and invise/withdraw spells
Skaen + Fighter can done a lot of fights, but don't have enough healing for long bosses fights
Shifter + Monk can't handle boarding fights with a lot of ranger enemies

I don't like challenges where your forced to select single class :( You can call it Chanter Naked-Solo-Challenge :D

  8. Something is going wrong here...

After having a really easy early-game with the Devoted/Trickster things are going out of hand after he reached level 13 picking up Unbending.

Can it really be that this skill gets stack over stack making the char (nearly) unkillable as long as you take care of magic dampener or heavy healing reduction?

Most of the time i can just run into the middle of the pack with unbending + disciplined strikes spamming crippling strike and death blow or just watch how the enemies get punched down with one crit after another while my character always stays at full health? Even if i run out of resources or healing reduction ticks in: Jump and Smoke Veil always keeps me save. Reset and strike again.

Maybe i should switch my rules to Single-Class only. Or wait until Obsidian has released all of their own bonus challenges.

This skill work only with group of enemies, it doesn't work well with bosses / arcane dumper / constitution affliction - i.e single affliction that reduce incoming health can be deadly for you

L13 fights is really easy, try to challenge fampyrs or other high level content, check ship combat, for everything else you don't need even unbending

  9. I don't really like the idea of dual-wielding spears. Looks silly.

Right now I'm just trying to decide whether Barbarian or Rogue offers the better perks. It's basically...

Persistent Distraction, more active abilities (But oh so few points to use on them), and Sneak Attack damage, or Barbaric Smash (A finisher that refunds itself), Frenzy (+5 Might, +5 Con, +2 Pen, +2 AR), One Stands Alone, Blooded, and Carnage.

In fact, I don't really even count active abilities as a plus toward the Rogue. There's so much to get from Fighter, you can more or less only get Crippling Strike for free at level 1.

Both builds can tank near anything (because of fighter Unbending) and their DPS is comparable, both fit pirate thematic. You only need to decided what play-style you prefer more.

  10. Brute Force is very powerful against casters and enemies with low fortitude or for example vs Nemnok. I offer you to switch Unbending Trunk to Brute Force. Everything else look good

    > Cloak: Cloak of Greater Protection and then upgrade to Nemnok's Cloak for on-Bloodied/Near Death effects,

This cloak doesn't synergy with Fighter, because most of the time you will stay with > 50% HP

    > Pet: Abraham

I think that this Pet doesn't work with Armor Grace, pick dog that reduce recovery time for all party members, with Unbending you don't need other healing options

  11. If you have chosen "PotD only" then i would try as many fights as possible just to see whats possible and what not. For me this run is not only about completing it but also about the limitations of class-combos and how far they can get pushed. In PoE and even more in BG i learned much about the game when forcing me to use my limited options to maximum effect. In PoE 2 however i am still feeling like a noob cause of the greater flexibility and changed mechanics.

At the moment i think that Devoted/Skaen or Wael are very cool options so feel free to show us their potential @mant2si. I switched in the meanwhile to Devoted/Trickster - and it works also quite well. At least in the beginning.

I still like to stick with Moon Godlike even though it seems (nearly) no one but me is loving them anymore.

    STR: 10

    CON: 10

    DEX: 20

    PER: 16

    INT: 19

    RES: 3

Dumping RES might hurt but as this is not a TCS run i should be fine with it. Hopefully.

Not sure if i should switch DEX with STR but punching fast as a lightning just feels too good.

    I get your point ;)

Obsidian overtune Port Maje really hard.

Because of that this part is very boring and the basic tactic split -> kill feel very weird ;)

Like 20 - 30 min video how you pull/pish enemies stacks

  12. Oh, you are completly free to kill everything out there naked - if you can. Withdraw is another invisibility (it isnt?) so no go for Chanters. If you dont like Legendary Captain: Skip it. This challenge should be fun and if you dont like the rules: Play the game in your own style. I like to play with handicaps - others hate this. Your choice!

This is funny @mant2si cause i started a Devoted/ Priest of Wael yesterday - looked really powerful. Tanking bigger boars in the beginning? No problem! With the high level spells and abilities this could be an unstoppable train of destruction. Skaen should be much better for the offense but Arcane Veil on the other hand helped me a lot in the early game. Hope i will get some time to play on in the next days. Eager to see your videos! ;)

Withdraw can end fights with infinity damage effects (pal/rogues).

I didnt understand if with your challenge we need to clear maje ?

If yes, then I need Wael or Wizard :( if no, then I can stay with Skaen, I really like additional invise spell and Escape, Escape with Salvation of Time will give you +50 deflection against all attack ;)

The second qestion is enemies with high crush & fire armor like golems ?

  13. I will try to record video with - Devoted/Priest of Skaen | Nature godlike (+1PL + 1PL from Acute will give +1PEN to unarmed fight)

    16 INT / 18 DEX / 9 CON / 9 MIG / 10 RES / 16 PER

    2 x DW weapon sets - Fists (14 PEN, 3S Recovery) | Club (13 PEN, +5 ACC, -25 WILL, ~28% Lash) & Stiletto (13 PEN, 28% Lash)
Acute/Aware/Resolute Inspirations, with Captain Banquet all those inspirations will be never dispelled by enemies spell
Plenty of red button / fight reset options Withdraw | Invise | Escape | Unbreakable
Resistance for  Dexterity (Paralyze) / Might (Stun) + immunies from Captain Banquet
    Constantly 110 - 120 defenses
A lot of healing options  Rapid Recovery / Consecrated Ground / Restore / Unbending / Holy Radiance

Penetration Strike for heavy armored guys
Good Fire AOE spells + free Avatar spell
    +10 ACC + ~70% Graze -> Hit conversion

UPD: I switch race to Nature godlike, because found that most of the time I have more than 50% of HP

  14. Holy ***t forum eat half of my post, after editation  :(

    UPD: I fixed it :D

As you can see even without Priest single fighter can immediately has +~180 to all defenses, you need  to give him only deflection buff.

I miss some stack-able bonuses like Mirrored Image (+5 more deflection), Llengrath's Displaced Image (+30 Reflex), and hell-walker can has (+20 Fortitude)/(+20 will)

  15. Enough Paladin/Fighter + Priest (if you want to rise deflection over 200)

    +~20 from fighter active
    +~15 from paladin passive
+~10 to all defenses from attributes
+~10 to all defenses from Conqurerer Stance + Superior DeflectionBull's Will
+~10 to all defenses from The Giftbearer's Cloth +  Casità Samelia's Legacy
+~10 to all defenses from Bracers of Greater DeflectionRing of Minor DeflectionRing of Minor ProtectionWahaki Tua

    Which will give you in summary 80 !+ 65 = 145

Berath blessing could give you +8 to Reflex, Will, Fortitude and +2 to deflection
Cast Fighter inspirations Acute, Aware, Resolve + 5 Deflection, 20 Will, 10 Reflex
Use drug that give you to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution ~ 8 Fortitude, 6 Reflex
Shield Cadhu Scalth - 22 Deflection from Legendary shield, +6 deflection from Weapon and Shield Style, +~5 Deflection from Heavy Shard
Weapon Kapana Taga ~ possible 5 additional deflection and immunity to flanked

    +~20 + 145 ~= 173 Will
    +~16 Fortitude ~= 160 Fortitude
    +~55 Reflex ~= 200 Reflex
    +~40 Deflection ~= 185 Deflection

Then you can spread attribute points between reflex, fortitude and will and make something like

    +185 Will
    +185 Fortitude
    +185 Reflex
    +185 Deflection

There exist buff from Priest that give +25 to deflection and Fit, Strong, Fast inspirations + Salvation of time

    +185 Will
    +193 Fortitude
    +191 Reflex
    +210 Deflection

I never test, but you can try to use food that give +5 to defenses except deflection, don't know if this will work

    +190 Will
    +198 Fortitude
    +196 Reflex
    +210 Deflection

  16. Same here... CON 3 is indeed a bit over the top. Got one-shoted several times now. No, no... no!

Maybe this Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran will work better:

    STR: 14

    CON: 10

    DEX: 15

    PER: 16

    INT: 20

    RES: 3

I tried out Death Godlike but was missing my passive heals right from the start. Better to howl at the moon again... :w00t:

BtW: I thought Boreal Dwarves only get the chance to graze against Wilders or Primordials? Wasnt the +15 ACC from PoE 1?

You don't need 14 STR, 20 INT, but you need resistance to might affliction (if you don't want random death from stunlock), only Amua race has resistance to might

    STR:  8

    CON: 14

    DEX: 20

    PER: 9

    INT  : 19

    RES: 8

    Then you need next bonuses:

Alchemic Brawn: +2 CON, +2 MIG

    Nature's Resolve: +10 Accuracy, +2 RES

Cabin boy: +1 DEX, +1 PER, -20% hostile effect duration

Captain's Banquet: +20% Damage with Spells, +20% Action Speed, Immunity to Intellect/Perception/Resolve afflictions

    Dawnstar's blessing: +50% Healing done, +2 Religion

This bonuses will make your stats look like

    10//16/21/10/19/10

    +10 ACC

    +20% Damage with spells

    +20% Action Speed

Immunity to Intellect/Perception/Resolve and resistance to might affliction

    -20% Hostile Effects Duration

    +50% Healing

If you has AIM to win all ship combat, then you need some way to stop initial combat and change aggro from you to your summon, without this enemies will destroy you no matter how you strong. I assume only naked fighter can survive first attack

  17. If the armor (e.g. dancer outfit) is only for aethetical porpuse (no AR or any other bonus) then its okay for me! ;)

Drugs are not allowed as well as any other consumables except for the one you can use when resting. I am a really bad guy no?

Okay i rolled a Moon Godlike Ghost Heart/Priest of Magran - say hello to Mizhena:

    STR: 18

    CON: 3

    DEX: 16

    PER: 18

    INT: 20

    RES: 3

Pretty much as much min/max as you can go. Thanks to the pet and her healing options (plus Hyleas resting bonus) this should be enough. Even more as this one will be "only" a pure PotD run. TC will have to wait until i get more confident with the build (and have collected more metagame knowledge).

Anyway: Good luck to Dorftek whatever your final choice will be! ;)

I don't think that you can have both resolve and constitution so low

And Moon Godlike is not very good race, dwarf with +15 acc vs wilders or death godlike or human will be better

You dont need such high migth, and you can reduce perception by 2

  18. Hmmmm.... without armor and the lacking deflection we will eat tons of damage (+30% from penetration and +50% from crits). Wont this be a problem for the

Streetfighter/Devoted at least in group fights?

Nope in sumarry you will have ~120 deflection and unbendind will out heal everything else

I made mistake in attributes: 6con,6res,6perc
